Thank you. But I have tried this one too. I installed the G2 driver, but when I run adb on cmd, it gives me no device found.

cntrl+alt+del and force close the adb tasks... and retry.

Have you checked the guide I linked to above ? Use the drivers from HTC Sync, as in the guide, that should work fine.

Did you take the adb.exe and adbwinapi.dll and copy or move them to the \windows\system32 directory so you can run adb from any dos directory prompt.

You know what? I didn't even think about that. Ill give it a shot as soon as I go home. Thanks

dont know how adb still doesnt find my semi-bricked tmobile g2 phone. Once im in fastboot and hook up through usb it installs the adb android interface drivers, but once i go into adb and put in adb shell or adb devices its stil saying device not found. im using the usb wire that came with the htc evo shift which is the same exact usb as the g2 from what i know.

Do you mean AAHK (Advanced Ace Hack Kit)? If so, could you post the output from when you try to use AAHK?
you can do it thru windows, just remember to turn off all security features or the root will fail.

I Will Tell You My Steps >>How I Rooted My Device To Install Custom ROM<<
1) I had Downloaded free Sms BackUp And Apps BackUp from Play store.
2) Then I just Backup-ed all My Sms and Apps.
3) Then I went on my contact--> Manage Contacts --> Exported All My contacts from Google as well as from My Phone to my SD card.
4) For my safety purpose I then copied all my data from my memory card to my hard disk.
5) Then I used AAHK Tool:-
# What it did was just downgraded my Radio(Internet Required)
# Then Rooted my device-->Super CID-->BusyBox-->4EXT-->and so on...
DONE...
YOU ARE NOW READY TO INSTALL CUSTOM ROM

sri, that is pretty clear, isn´t it? Have you installed the driver included in the tools>windrivers folder with the phone unplugged?
If you are not sure, then uninstall the drivers, unplug the phone. Install it again and then plug the phone and let it install correctly. Make sure that you use the oem cable and if that is not working try using a different oem cable and a different 2.0 usb port (it won´t work on a 3.0)
And make sure to
Disable any antivirus you have before unzipping the aahk

Sorry for my stupid question, but how do i distinguish between USB 2.0 and 3.0 on my laptop. Since I am also having the same problem while running AAHK. Also, what should I do if I can't find the htc driver after installing it.

Normally the usb 3.0 ports are blue
About the driver: Why would you want to find it? The important thing is that it is installed so your computer recognizes the phone correctly.
But anyway, on my PC I have a folder in the start menu named HTC, subfolder HTC Driver. You could use that as an indication for the driver being installed.
Only Install the htc drivers contained in the hack kit

I think there is a use case for the four triangles in Bortaks thread. Check it.
If I am not wrong this is a RUU problem. Case No 4. Did this happen after you used the RUU?
no, you can reflash the GB RUU again and it will be fine again.

Are the htcsync drivers installed onboard the computer? Theres a guide in my signature which will set it up for you in case its not installed. I guess Android flasher must be OK but I personally use the commandline. I always use the command
Code:
fastboot devices
to verify connectivity.

HTC Wildfire S, HTC Sync and Windows 8.1

So here's my situation:
I'm trying to unlock, root, and flash my friend's HTC Wildfire S. I have a Windows 8.1 laptop and we don't really have feasible access to a Windows 7 machine. The Wildfire S does not seem to want to get properly recognized though:
I've tried:
- Running HTC Sync as admin
- Trying two version of HTC Sync
- Tried getting just the USB drivers of it
- Tried USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports
- Tried to use the unsigned drivers method
I've tried everything I can think of... I just want to unlock the dang bootloader... What can I do?
Fixed it by gaining access to a Windows 7 computer. Even after that it was still a nightmare to get working. 13 man hours later and the phone is unlocked, rooted, and running Marvelous CM Android 4.1.2. I'll hear tomorrow about whether it's all in good order or not from my friend and maybe make some tweaks.
Where'd you find the USB drivers?

Hi, Elemein.
I'm not trying to unlock or root the device, I'm just trying to get Sync to see my device. I've been all over the HTC site and Sprint's site and can't find anything. I had a copy of Sync on an old PC, version 3.2.20. I have an HTC Evo View.
Any info you can give would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi! If you still need help, try this driver for HTC devices. It worked for me on W8.1 and HTC Sync finally found the phone.

First of all i've installed HTC Sync 3.3.63 with its own driver, and then overwrited with this one.
ps: apparently i can't use urls in my posts yet, so you have to do puzzles. ;)

Jippi!!! This file saved my sanity.! First I was a bit worried by the installation procedure which didn't give any sign of wether it had succeded installing anything. But then I plugged in the Wildfire, started HTC Sync, and voila!
Now I'm going to try to root it and change ROM.
Tell me anyone if you don't understand tmc_IDM's cryptic link or if the file is removed, I'll provide a new link.

[Q] How to S-OFF from custom rom?

I have rooted and unlocked my Desire HD from HTC's website with filename.bin .
I searched for a while but I was just confused. There is a lot of bad english and bad explanation. I stumbled on a tool called "Deathscream's S-OFF tool" which for some people works but for other it's bricking their devices. So thanks, but no thanks.
So my simple question is:
What's the best way to S-OFF a rooted and unlocked device which has a custom rom, preferably w/o downgrade-ing?
Thank you.

what i know is..there is AAHK2 script by Phiber2000 in here that can s-off the unlocked bootloader but the script already including process downgrading and will tell you if the hboot needed process downgrading first before s-off process..
if the script needed stock rom file for downgrading..you can search in here..find the right stock rom that suitable with your CIDnum of your phone..
hope this help..
I forgot to mention that I'm on Windows 8.1 so no luck under Windows. But I do have a live usb with ubuntu on it. The script requires Windows 7 or 8 and I'm not reinstalling my OS just for this. Also I don't have an sd card from those brands mentioned in that thread(which is a silly requirement).

What i know is i think that's script can running on windows 8.1 too..because i don't see reason why that script can't running on 8.1..i don't know if i missed something..
About the sd card brands..maybe silly to hear that first..but i'm sure that's important things to prepare before running that's script for success fully s-off the device..
Just imagine that the bootloader is like your bios on your pc n you can ask your self how much important the media itself to put and loading a bios file for flashing your bios..
Hope this help...sorry for my bad english..

Thanks for the advice but I did that already before and ****ed up my USB 3.0 ports and then some. When I turn on my PC my mouse and keyboard don't work (they are in different USB 2.0 ports) and my HD which is in 3.0 stops every couple of minutes which is driving me mad. I need to reinstall all my USB drivers soon.
As for the phone I'll do it from linux, from scratch, or from another PC.

It just says waiting for device
You got the drivers installed?
which ones?
The HTC drivers. Download and install HTC sync. That will install the drivers. Then disable it so it does not interrupt the s-off process. Follow this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032467
But use rev.alpharev.nl website instead of revolutionary.io.
It seems I only get halfway and it sometimes don't register the phone.. in device manager i get a code:10 on the phone.
I'v tried many things to fix this but nothing seems too work
Either way I thank you for your help so far as it seem everything is done right and should work
my computer just doesn't want to co-op.
Edit: the app starts and everything seems well, but then it boots to fastboot and get stuck waiting for fastboot
FYI: did this on a computer with windows 10 and then tried it on one with 7 or XP I can't remember witch one because i have both on the same computer. but it worked, so the problem seems to be that windows 10 can't install or handle the old drivers properly.
