anyone here have this problem when recording with widescreen 800 x 640 resolution on RCMixHD and 720p on some other roms?
cuz i got one, i recordered a video of about 8 minutes and first minutes its ok but after that, the audio is faster than the video, meaning video is lagging behind. when times passes it becomes horribly lagging.
is there a way to fix this video? any software for this? cuz this video is a very important memory to me and its kinda shame to have it broken like that.

Which ROM are you using? This should be fixed in RCmixHD 0.14b
unfortunately, i got that problem while on RCMixHD 0.14b. but i dont mind since it has happened already. I'm back to AuraXTSense. The thing now is, how do i fix it?

Maybe lots have come across the video playback problems with the HTC Trinity - the annoying green screen instead of the video playback.
I've recently realized that all the problems are caused by the HTC Camera. The video files are being played smoothly until you start the camera.
Upgrading the camera program didn't help. Is there anything I can do to solve this issue?

i think that you must change your software rom ... it must be a codec problem ...
I've tested several roms (WM5 & WM6) - every time the problem is identical - I've never had a ROM with proper video playback. I thought that this is common issue until I realized that the camera software caused it.
I don't understand what do you mean by video files are being played smoothly until you start the camera...
why do you start your camera if you're playing your videos?
No ... I usually don't watch videos while taking pictures
I watch videos ... everything is cool ... then close player ... than start camera ... taking photos etc. ... I close the camera ... if I want to start watching videos again - I can't.
Does anyone have solution?
I had the same problem as you but i never managed to track down what i did differently each time for the green screen, all i knew was that if i watched a video, i knew i would have to restart because otherwise ALL videos would show the green screen. I have solved the problem now by just updating my Coreplayer/TCMP player.
Have you found another cure yet?

I use latest version of both ... this does not solve the problem (at least my problem )
Oh no, i thought that would of fixed it. I guess i havnt used mine enought to discover its still bad. Lets hope someone finds a cure
Thank you in advance
Unfortunately it turns out (this is just my opinion of course) that the cure will be new camera application or new video driver.
Who will do it ... HTC genius engineer stuff ... I don't think so ?
Just think of the problems with TyTn II users and guess when this will happen
Seriously every single video I record comes out with artifacts and choppy/freezing. What in the world is happening. I can't be the only one? Fix for this!!? So disappointing, sigh
Try on CM6. HTC sucks at coding.
They set a low bit rate in the video with high compression. CM has normal ones, plus they're working on better audio.

Damn out of all the times I've flashed CM6 I've never tried the HD recording! This might be the definite deal breaker for me for Sense Roms.
Yeah. It looks really nice on CM6. >_<
I had the same issue with 2.1 and 2.2. I noticed that when I played the video for a second time it would play smooth (maybe it got cached). I just changed the SD card to a Ridata class 6 and now videos always play OK.

Yeah but it also plays back choppy on my computer when I transfer the file over or if I upload it to YouTube or anywhere else. I am going to try CM6 now and see what kind of results I get.
I'll admit I haven't tried 720P recording on CM6 in a few weeks but under RC1 the issue I was having was that the video and audio would lose sync...I took a recording of my dog barking at my cat and the video of the bark was showing before the bark sound. I guess I should try it on the nightly I'm running now and see how it is.
do not record in mpeg4 try H.264 that worked for me

So I just recorded a video with settings on 720p and wow, probably the laggiest most inconsistent recording I've ever seen lol... The audio is perfectly in sync, but the video freezes for a millisecond about every 3-4 seconds... I'm on Virus's RC2B2 and have only added some AOSP components, but I'm just trying to figure out wtf's goin on here... Is there a video fix floating around that I dunno about to fix this issue..?? I don't remember it being this choppy on WVGA settings, is it just a 720p thing..??
I have noticed when I am in the video recorder and switch to 1920x1080 resolution I notice the video zooms in to around 2x and says "zooming is not allowed in full HD" when I try to zoom out. This causes the recorded video to look like crap and noticeably lower quality than the 720p videos I record, especially on a pc..
Does anyone know why this is, if anyone else is having the same problem and if there is any way to fix it?
I can confirm I see the same thing.

Same here!
I got some good results with my videos, but only when i wasn't trying to shoot something up close.
I am really disappointed 1080p was one of the big things I was looking forward to with the GS2 and now I find that it's a lower quality video than the 720p... Hopefully someone has a fix or this is an issue Samsung is working on.
I'm going to buy One X(or One XL) when it released at South Korea.
So I'm searching its specs & informations.
I heard there is frame drop issue when taking 1080p video recording.
First, it took 19fps, and after a firmware update, it takes 23fps at the moment.
Then what about 720p video recording?
Does 720p recording support 30fps perfectly? Or It has same issue?
Are there any news to fix this software problem from HTC?
My 1080p Videos has 19,36 FPS and the 720p has 23,1 FPS.
I use my One X with ARHD 5.1.1 & Bricket-Kernel, still got no OTA to 1.29 so ive got old Radio!
But there are 2 Cam-Mods out there which push the Mbit/s and the Framerates, but aware this are BETA's!

thx to reply.
So 720p recording also has FPS issue huh?
Don't know why HTC doesn't release patch to fix it.
I heard ONE-S(snapdragon 4th model) doesn't have any FPS issue at all LOL.
It's so weird that ONE-X got video recording problem... This one is way better flagship model
First of all, hardware wise the H1X can do [email protected] You can download Camera ICS from Play Store and see for yourself. However, the stock camera capped fps to 24. Thats really sux.

You mean third party camera app can take 1080p recording smoothly, right?
However, stock camera app doesn't support 30fps. So it seems camera application has problem. Am I right?
But Camera ICS app doesn't support Burst shot I guess... hmm.
Neither taking photos while recording.
Anyway, I don't have H1X lol.
First of all, to clear the misconception, I have done A LOT of testing on the video recording capabilities of the HOX. Firstly, ALL camera apps that I have tried have DROPPED frames when recording.
Dropped frames are the sudden jitter and lag during recording. Generally video is recorded at 30fps, but throughout recording and playback, the frames get dropped very often.
Dropped frames and low FPS are NOT the same. Low FPS seems to be constant, during low light it drops to 17fps or so, but well lit areas 30fps MAX. Just go record a short 30 second clip and you will see what I mean. Every few frames you can see the video stutter and then FPS picks back up. Very bad, and very irritating. There doesn't seem to be a fix to it yet.
