[Q] H-E-L-P | After partitioned cd card - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I partitioned my sd card by this software - MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition
to 2 partitions: EXT3 -1GB and FAT32 - 7GB.
(SD card of 8 GB)
now, my HTC Desire doesnt upload and stuck on the screen of my rom.
i tried to upload it with no sd card ad it stuck on the HTC screen.
i cant format the sd card by the recovery and i cant upload files on it by the computer.
i can use ADB when the phone plug in to the computer.
HELP!!
What can i do?

Did your desire work before you partitioned your SD Card?
I would suggest reformatting the card into the partitions you mentioned above, and copy a ROM to the FAT32 partition. Then, reflash a rom (with the SD Card inserted, obviously).

[Q] [Help Req'd] Strange problem with EXT Partition.

OK, so my Desire was working ok, but I decided it was time for a clear out, and a fresh partition of my SD Card, along with a move to Firerat's script for A2SD.
I booted my computer into Ubuntu and made a backup of my SD Card - no problems there. However, I noticed that the EXT partition had not mounted in Ubuntu, so I figured that it must be to do with being booted into Android, and so I booted into Recovery and mounted SD card there - same problem.
It was not until I physically put my SD card into a card reader and inserted it into my laptop, could I access the EXT partition. So I went ahead and copied my EXT partition, no probs.
I then (for some reason) decided to put my SD card back into my phone, mount SD Card in Ubuntu and try and re-partition the SD card in GParted. It kept, however giving me an error message when I tried to partition the card. GParted crashed and would not restart until I re-booted the system. The same thing happened after a reboot.
I had to go into Windows and format the Card as FAT32, and then remove the card from the phone, put it in the card reader, reboot into Ubuntu and then partition the card via GParted.
Now, I have a 6Gb FAT32 partition and a 1GB EXT2 partition on my SD Card and all is (kinda) working swimmingly. Still when I access my SD card (via USB cable, and HTC Desire) in Ubuntu, the EXT partition does not mount (it DEFINITELY used to), and when I view it in GParted it shows the entire disk as "unallocated"?
Is my phone somehow "corrupting" my SD card partition tables? The phone seems to read it ok?
Any ideas would be welcome?
Thanks
Stu

[Q] cant access sd card

Hi can any one help i tried to install the desire hd rom, the instructions suggested partitioning sd card before installing the rom
which i tried to do using Mini tool partition wizard unfortunetly after wiping partition and the creating new partion my sd card would not mount as i wasnt sure if i should have formated the sd card at this point as that option was still available. but the instructions didnt mention wether i should have formated after creating new partition.
So anyway to cut a long story short i switched the phone of instead, hoping that when i restarted it i would be able to mount the sd card. But now i had a new problem my phone now would not detect my sd card altogether
Does any one know how i can make my sd card detectable again or will i need to fork out for a new sd card
Have you tried it in another device, say a PC card reader?
Had the same issue. Everything worked fine after formatting the SD card with Gparted. What I did wrong is that I made 3 EXT4 partitions for Data2SD and the computer didn't recognize the card. Used Recovery to mount the card and Gparted to repartition it. Everything worked fine afterwards.
yes sort of tried my friends sd card in my desire and it detected it so its definetly the my sd card that faulty
thanks for replying to my message i tried mounting the sd card in recovery using recovery manager but my phone wont mount it as it not detecting the sdcard do you think i might have better luck with gparted and if so do you have a link where i might be abe to down load it.

[Q] SD Card Problem

Ok, here's the thing.
I was trying to install LeeDrOiD V3.0.7 rom for my Desire and I followed the instructions.
And there was this step: "Flash This EXT 3 Alignment patch prior to flashing the ROM"
I've done all steps and I was stuck in boot screen.
But the main problem is that my phone can't mount SD card.
Before all this (two months before), I was doing step by step "Noob Proofing Everything Desire Guide" and I was doing partition of SD card using Gparted.
So I don't know if I messed up my SD card or what?
I can easily read card on my computer, but not on phone.
Can anyone help me?
same..
I have same this problem.. gparted, Leedroid and then cant mount sd card..

HELP PLEASE:
Cant update or download new apps from market to SD card.
I can only download & update apps on internal storage and then move them to SD... But If I have app on SD I cannot update or install app.. I always get - Installation Unsuccessful
I am using Leedroid NOA2SD 2.4.1. Tried to format SD card, unmount and mount SD.. nothing helps.
Titanium Backup:
Internal: 23 MB free
SD card: 1.29 GB free
SD card (a2sd): 1.90 MB free
after flashing this fancy alignment.zip you must reboot recovery and then flash the rom.zip
try it now, if it doesnt work you must re-do your sdcard
this can be done with android, boot up into any rom and go to settings>storage>format SD card - and it will restore whole sd as FAT32 (you will lose ext3)
so you need either other android phone or other SD so you can flash any rom to your current phone.
there is also an windows aplication that can do it (restore whole SD as fat32) but i dont know its name (and it is not anything alike gparted which unfortunately cant do it)
I've used SD Formatter 3.0 and I succeded in formatting SD card.
My phone can now mount SD card again.
mac - disk utilities - repair disk - might work if its just corrupted

[Q] Format sd card as ext4 in order to put files on sd card which are over 4GB

Hello,
I know the sd card is standard formated as fat32, but fat32 has one limitation and that is that is that it can not store files over 4GB.
That means that most 720p movies will not fit on it because off the limitation. I wonder how I can get the sd card to ext4, when I booted in gparted live usb it could not find the sd card. I have succeeded partition it in ext4 using minitool partition wizard home edition. Now I only wonder if the phone does not overrule it, I have right now RCMix3D Runny 4.0

[D855] SD Broken?!? [SOLVED]

Hi everyone!
I upgraded to CM 13, big problem was the fact that my Samsung Evo 64 GB SD card was not usable as internal storage or external. I entered recovery mode and wiped all to install Cloudy 2.5. I have an issue now, the sd card is not formatted in its own original filesystem, and after i tried to change it to exFat or ext4 it shows me a 15mb sd card, rather then a 64 GB one.
How do I fix this?
You can take your micro SD card, put it in the adapter and then plug it to your computer.
After that you can take a software like "minitool partition wizard" and use it to format the micro SD card.
I figured out the SD card problem , i couldn't fix it for nothing until i did this.
FOR ANYBODY THAT GETS STUCK AT 20% or any other sd card problem with 6.0 roms
1. Backup all files on SD card (This will delete everything on your sdcard)
2. Install minitool partition wizard
3. Remove all partitions from SD card with partition wizard (Do not reformat)
4. Place SD card into phone
5. Let the phone detect SD card and try to reformat
6. chose either Internal or Portable Storage
7. Enjoy because it works perfectly for me now.
btw. im running a LG G3 D850 ATT
