you could try this,... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9696494&postcount=6
Not sure exactly what it does but worth a try.
Or you could start a logcat running when you try to install, then try to trace the issue as he has done?

Edit: there seems to be a known issue with gapps on cm 6.1 installing this apk.
I myself am on enom's 2.14.1 and had no issues installing..
It very well could be a signing issue, I did not sign this so feel free to experiment if you familiar with signing and please post a link that works on cm 6.1

..... So try what I said,... then report back for everyone else.

APK.New Android Market
If you have not already heard Android Market has been updated with some major changes.....
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...id-market-apk-ripped-posted-for-all-to-enjoy/
You can grab the apk. here;
http://www.multiupload.com/B6Y171MCYU
or
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10303026/com.android.vending_2.2.6.apk
For rooted phones only. Tested and running perfect on eViL's Sense/DZ ROM only, reports of some wierdness on some other roms, check it out for yourself. Be sure to do a nadroid before tho just in case
The only downside is that the refund policy have changed, there is now a 15min refund window instead of 24hrs, apart from that the UI is beautiful. Just use a file explorer to install the apk. over your current version of Market, enjoy.
hmm i downloaded and tried open with linda and it keeps saying app was unable to install =/

Anyone know if we need to uninstall previous GApps updates (i.e. from Market) before we flash with ROM Manager? Or will it be okay to just flash over?
I installed this like any other apk....no need to flash anything.....works perfectly on my Desire HD

... But I no longer have the Market, or any of my contacts... in fact, it seems that everything is gone.
Can someone tell me how this is properly done? :/
And by the way, if anyone has any decent Gingerbread ROMs, I'd love that
I had the same issues so I went back to virtuas 0.8.1 wich is sweet. I think I'm going to wait intill cynamod 7.0 comes out, speaking of that does anyone know what the progress is on that? How far away can we expect? I'm super pumped

You need to download the gapps zip aswell. The zip will contain the Google apps your looking for. I know for a fact cyanogen links them on the first post of all this treads along with making them available on rom manager. Just go to the first post click his link to the rom and you'll find it on his CyanogenMod forum. They could be right under the download link to the rom.
First post, download the Google adding and install like you could any other zip.

just check out the cm7 in the g2 development section and youll see how far they have gone, and when itll be released.
You didn't also flash the Google Apps. You need to do both. CM doesn't include the Google Apps per a copyright dispute with Google. The other ROMs include them just because CM was the first big ROM and Google asked them to stop.
Google Apps can be downloaded separately from the CM site, ROM Manager, or XDA.
First off, Hello everyone.
I have a rooted Evo with the sense Rom I believe. My kernel is 2 .6. 32.17 -gee557fd . My android version is 2.2.
Now my problem. I cannot get Wireless Tethering to install on my phone. When I download it, I get the message that it was not installed. When I try using HTC sync I get the same message. I have no idea of what to do.
I tried researching to see if someone had a similiar issue but to no avail. I tried using the pre-9 verison. Same problem. I wondered if the problem was the kernel. Tried looking for a kernel that I can use, but I really didnt trust using google to lead the way. I really didnt want to mess up my phone.
Can someone help me please. Thank you.
Where are you downloading it from?
Applanet, The Market place, websites that had the apk files for both the pre-9 and current version.
What specific Rom are you using, ill try ripping the version that came with the fresh Rom seems to work for me.

My market is updating to new v3 of the market and crashes within 10 seconds after starting..
I have tried a few things but no good. I like the new market but I cannot run it. I have to uninstall updates and use old market, which runs stable.
Any Help will be appreciated
Using HTC Desire Z rooted with CM7.
So the new market 3.1.3 right? If so, I was having the same issue. What I did is keep the market you were previously using, 3.1.0 I believe. Then download the APk for the new version and install it. It will ask to replace the current version. Click yes. This worked for me and now I'm having no issues.
Correction market 3.0.27 is the one I was using before the new one 3.1.3.
tried installing from the apk , tried learing cache and data, tried rebooting a no. of times.. nothing working. It keeps crashing..
any1 else here knows a solution ??
n btw my market version is currently 2.3.3 which runs fine.. i cant update to any newer version .. :s
Man i have this problem too!
So i went back to 2.3.3
Juat wait until the rom your using gets updated so it has the new market

Go into your settings and make sure your language is set properly, some folks are finding that resetting their language fixes the problem.

Reselect English in the Languages menu, should fix it.

I have the crashing issue on every rom except the latest miui it seems. Havent tried cyanogen 7.1.0RC1 or nightlies yet, but I know the crash happens on 7.0.3

Worked for me. CM 7.0.3 on Desire-z
Btw NEW new market works much better. No more busted updating process of being told there is an update yet there being no update button.

err.. don't mean to sound stupind but from where is the "languages Menu" ??? i can't find it anywhere in the old market :s
It's in your system menu. Seems to have worked for me too.
Thanx a lot guys!!
Its kinda weird how u can fix a market crashing problem by changing the language in system settings. btw my language was set to hd(unitesd states) changed it to English. Market is working fine now.
A great community and really helpful people! cheers!

As soon as I enter the newly installed market, I get a blank background for a couple of seconds and it directly crashes saying that the application stopped unexpectedly.
I am using XDAndroid (Froyo FRX07 on my Blackstone).
I don't think I can reach the menu?!?!?
The only problem I got, it won't always download..
first I had stock rom Desire HD with the new Market.. sometimes I couldn't install someting... and now I got the Android Revolution Rom HD 6.1.0 with the new market, same problem..
So I guess it''s the market problem, not our phone problem
Re-selecting language worked for me also.
Thanks!
THANKS! Re-selecting the language trick worked for me too!
HTC Desire (bravo)
this is a bug almost everyone has .. why isn't any1 fixing this :s ??

hmm... app section
Why wouldn't someone go and download the official gapps package at http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip?
Cyanogen was asked by Google to not include these [in their rom], but most people flash gapps right behind their CyanogenMod install.
Rob
Fair enough. Thanks for the compilation(s). Hope they solve some people's data problems.
Because they had errors when using alquez's cm 7.2 port. Most files from here are from a HTC wildfire s rom.

No errors here with the latest gapps package.
Ran CM7.2 package
Gapps package
remove app2sd package
Booted up got the google account sign in.
Got the pub.google option, etc..
Up and running with all my stuff installed and wifi still running... (crosses fingers)
Same here, nothing wrong with the gapps package at all.
Got them from the link in Alq's thread.

Maybe not for you, but some people - like myself- have had data problems with market, gmail, etc. This is for them if you don't want it don't get it
I had data issues too, but it was definitely specific to the earlier build.
Latest build is perfect and fully stable.
For me anyway.
Just one question...
What does GAPPS contain/s?
