Tv out maybe? - Wildfire Accessories

I know there is no official tv out cable for the Wildfire but because the jack transfers data, not just sound maybe its hackable, if someone interested.

no hardware support, i allready added this question.

And isnt there a Jack to AV compostie variation?

NO HARDWARE CAPABILITIES
The jack is only for charging and data transfer, there is no way to output video through this.

you may try 3.5mm jack, some mobs work with this. its ipods composite cable

thats a shame...would have loved this
had it on my old nokia n95 worked a treat

nokia 5800 3.5m tv output using our wildfires? will try later got a n5800 tv output cable!
What do u reckon?

Wildfire doesn't have the internal hardware for it.
The only thing the 3.m Stereo port does is headsets.

HTC Desire - USB audio output possible

Hi Devs,
first of all, sorry for starting a new thread, but searched the forum and didn't find exactly that.
Like I've read, there is no audio over USB support built-in to our mighty Desire.
I tried a few different microUSB to 3.5mm jack adapters from ebay - even one declared as for HTC Desire. Checked the usb-pins-assignment also and it seems that HTC hasn't built in (or turned off) that function in opposite to some other manufacturers.
So will it be possible to write a rom or a kernel, that'll support that?
If it is possible, I would appreciate a few hints what I'll have to do, to get this thing working!
Thanks in advance!
Can I know why you need that? Is it for A/V out?

Its not possible to send analog audio signal over the usb since its a standard usb plug. Only the old htc phones with extUSB had audio, but its was a bigger plug with more pins.
On that note i dont get why you want to get audio from there, when theres a nice 3.5mm jack socket on the top of the phone.

Thanks for your quick answers!
Yes, since there are no music docks for desire I built my own and it has to be possible, other phones with microUSB have that function - why not ours?
I know the old extUSB plug from my magic, there it is no problem. But there must be a way to get this working! I think it is only a software and/or driver issue.
If you'll get a music dock you'll have to plugin the phone + jack everytime? ? ? Look on ebay there are a few universal docks over microUSB, but not working for the nearly best and most sold android phone on market?
Pls give me some hints if there is a way to do that - everything is possible!

Umm, well not really. Because who says that the USB port of your phone is connected the right way internally to actually SEND data over the cable/dock.
I have no idea on how to do it. Thats just what I think, but with Android, a LOT is possible

YEAH IT IS!
On Nexus one they built in extra pins for docking and audio over that works like a charm.
I'm having a few adapters microUSB to 3.5mm jack for Motorola,Samsung,Nokia...phones from ebay, but not one reaction from Desire
Maybe the adapter for Desire needs a Digital-to-analog converter to get analog audio out of the microUSB port.
But no technical details over that from HTC - does anyone know more about the microUSB connections on our Desire? Tried to get a technical manual for Desire, but no chance on google...
If there is no other solution, I'll have to disassemble my expensive Desire to get a view on connections and maybe some hints which IC is managing the microUSB.
Does any dev know what would be possible by modding a kernel or rom?
Thanks in advance!

im also looking for something like this, though i want digital-audio out. for example in my car, plug and play so i get spotify from my usb to my stereo and able to control spotify from my stereo. there is no problem for this if you use iphone, though id like to be able to do it on my htc.
any solution?
Ability to stream out the audio through USB would be something nice to have.
There's a guide online on how to splice a USB and 3.5mm cable to the Apple USB cord so that you can charge and play audio on ipod accessories, as long as you don't mind having USB and audio plugged in at the same time. http://www.erwanmace.com/2012/07/ipod-dock-android/

What happened to the TV-OUT ?

One of the most things that amazed me in Galaxy S II .Is the ability to output to HD/SD screens but today i've bought a 3.5m to RCA cable then plugged it in but there was no image and no option for TV-OUT !
So where is the TV-OUT exactly ?
Really, you did what?
I don't know how you could expect a video signal from an audio port. The thing you are looking for is the MHL Adapter (USB to HDMI) which isn't on the market right now (June most likely).

well actually the first sgs had tv-out from the 3.5mm port, as well as some nokia models, my dv cam has the same so its not impossible, but i find it strange that more people don't know that the sgs2 has the MHL adapter, see threads like this popping up all over
I'm surprised people are largely unaware of this too.
I really need the MHL cable, I used my Nokia 3.5mm TV Out cable a lot with my SGSI, really looking forward to being able to output HD content with the SGSII !!!
MHL was added, so tv out was removed.
photo editor was added, so adjustable saturation, sharpness, and brightness was removed.
video editor was added, so ability to pause while recording video was removed.
Thats the Wonder of Samsung~
Does anyone know if a non-samsung specific MHL cable would work with the SGS2, same as generic USB on the go cables work ok?
and yes, with the release of netflix today, and newly discovered "TV Shows Stream" app, i have to use my old sgs..
i wonder if software can fix this, or if hardware is missing.. someone should look into this
Its a standard, so yes, a non-Samsung one should work (only reservation for me is that GSMarena say that this one only works when a charging USB cable is connected to the adapter, so if a non-Samsung one didn't have a charging input it may not work).
MHL is just another way of saying HDMI-out !
I'm asking about the SD output that uses RCA connectors to plug into TVs.
Yep, I know what you're asking, it doesn't work (several of us have tried).
your one of those many people who don't really know what they are buying when they buy it, always a mistake. You need to do your homework before you waste any more money my friend.
Its all about the MHL port dude....

thats not true at all.. there were no reviews of this phone before it came out, and thats like saying 'oh you expected mp3 support?' yes ofc we did, isn't it a given?
will mhl be able to interact with rca at all? or are all tvs pre 2010 useless now?

I believe that person was discredited later though.
In any case they are mistaken, because myself and several others have confirmed this is NOT working with the SGSII.

There has been plenty of info floating around about this phone prior to release and on release day, if I and plenty of other people new about this and you didnt then as I said before you didnt do your homework
the MHL port will work with all tv's with HDMI ports, however it will only charge your phone via this port with new TV's with MHL compatible ports.
@ stoolzo
what about those TV'S with no HDMI ports.........???

Audio problem with the MHL adapter

I can not believe what's happening with my new cable MHL! I have a TV with DVI input, but I've never had any problem because with a simple HDMI-DVI adapter I could always play HD video on my TV and, from the headphone, I have the audio connected to a "AUX input" of a stereo. It always worked with my laptop and my hard drive media!!
The problem is that the galaxy s2 headset turns off the sound when you plug the MHL cable. I can not hear anything on my TV!
I do not know what to do, I think has no solution. I even connected the mobile audio to my notebook's bluetooth, but when I connect the mhl cable no sound is heard again!!
Does anyone have any solution? Is there any menu to force the sound through headphones?
thanks
I think I have a solution. I Expose it to help someone having the same problem:
1 .- Buy a HDMI male to 5 RCA RGB audio video av component cable
2.- Buy a DVI-I 24+5 Male to 3 RCA RGB Female Converter Adapter
Now you have the video and audio separately using an HDMI cable
3.- Connect the RGB cable to the DVI and audio cables to your stereo
*I can not put pictures of the cables because I am a new user and the system will not let me, sorry.

Sorry, HDMI doesn't carry analog audio signals. So you are out of luck with this RCA solution.
You need to a) change your TV model, or b) use a cheap AV receiver in between the GS2 and the TV set.
Think it's impossible to work? What bad news!! I don't understand why someone sells a cable that doesn't work!
What a fool I was to believe the technical characteristics of amazon:
Gold plated HDMI to 5 RCA component video audio AV cable.
Provides high resolution up to 1080p.
High definition sound and clear image transfers.
* if you write 'HDMI Male to 5 RCA RGB Audio Video AV Component Cable' in google, is one of the first result (amazon)
Does not matter, I've only lost 6 euros (ebay).
Thanks
Anyway I don't understand why we talk about converting the image and sound in analog. There are manuals about how to open an HDMI cable and also has the red, green and blue wires inside. Just for separate cables lost the concept of "digital? Not understand...
My TV has DVI input, which is also digital. As I said before, I have an HDMI female to DVI male that works perfectly on my TV when connect my laptop and my multimedia hard drive. If I could break the adapter, it would have too a derivation of wires a pin to another, right? And it works in high definition
All I wanted to do with this cable was to extract the sound from an HDMI cable because the Galaxy S2 lost the sound of the headphone and I can not connect to the AUX input of my amp.
The HDMI digital audio signal is transmitted as a single aggregated digital stream that contains a variable number of digital channels (from 2 to 7.1 and even more).
Also in the pre-HDMI days the DVD's SD multichannel digital audio stream was transferred using a single coaxial cable (electrical) or a single optical cable, hence no separated cables for every channel.
Therefore digital channels have to be previously decoded and separated, and then converted by DACs to discrete analog signals.
No hope then to directly get from HDMI a couple of stereo analog signals to feed your stereo amplifier, you should have read all the negative user reviews of that cable on Amazon UK.
My suggestion: buy a cheap (or used) AV receiver with HDMI inputs/outputs and then connect its analog stereo monitor output to the TV auxiliary audio input (red/white RCAs or 3.5mm connector), or just use a couple of speakers connected to the AV receiver.
I was really hoping to use this phone with any normal DVI monitor and use headphones connected to the phones headphone jack. I guess this destroys that idea.
Why is it that everytime something like MHL comes along they implement it with absolutely no foresight as to how it might be used?
I think that MHL is just similar to HDMI in that respect.
So you wouldn't get analog audio output from the GS2 even if it had an HDMI instead of an MHL.
Today the manufacturers of latest cell phones expect connections only with TV sets equipped with complete digital ports (generally HDMI), not considering their products to be used with computer monitors.
BTW, DVI video-only port today is considered not suitable for full-HD audio-video material, and probably couldn't even fully support 1080p/24fps video signals.
DVI monitors support 60hz 1080p okay. Whether or not they cans support 1080p/30 or 1080p/24 purely depends on the monitor's firmware. Most monitors woudn't support 24hz but some probably support 30hz, which I think the GSII uses.
Also I didn't know HDMI out on phones did the same thing. Thanks for telling me that.
I guess it's the matter of audio routing!
Maybe someday someone could mod the kernel to handle these types of situations ;-)
Fingers crossed!
I found this app "SoundAbout" witch let you change the output
it works perfectly for me, sound on the smartphone and video on the monitor (tested on galaxy s3)

now days they only cater for the mainstream market.
the assumption was probably everyone will only use it on a hdtv that has its own speakers.
I agree its a sad state of affairs but thats how it is I guess, I am currently trying to get sound as I am using a hdmi monitor which has no speakers.

Excellent. ... (hopefully still works on 4.3) I have the same problem with my PWD8 which is a panel so doesn't have speakers.
Is it possible to take a cable from the phones (Note 2) 3.5mm jack and put it into an AV receiver so that it uses the speakers attached to it?
Or even bluetooth sound to a separate speaker from the phone?
Sound about app useful for allowing sound to get to av receiver via rca cable

Android Soundstation BT/WLAN/DOCK

Hey guys im searchin for a sounddock for my android phone.
i found this one think atm. its the one and only with dock for android phones!?
if it isn´t plsease post some other and or if you have one other with your experience on it
Here is mine i found(maybe someone has it and writes his experience?):

How about this one :
http://www.samsung.com/us/video/home-theater/DA-E651/ZA
I've seen them in the stores in the UK for about £ 180.00 (Currys, Comet, etc)
Sound quality is awesome, and I'm probably gonna get one at some stage. Charges the phone via USB but audio is either via Bluetooth or All share WiFi.
I'm waiting for a dock with usb audio. I could put up with Bluetooth, but won't bother plugging in to the headphone jack. But like I said I think I will wait, I hope there will be a few options by Christmas.

Video over 3.5mm

Is it possible on any ROM, or is it a hardware limitation? Thanks.
3.5mm is audio only, there are hdmi adapters for this phone though, pretty sure it goes in the usb port.

Its a hardware limitation. Devices that support that are specially wired and use a special, longer, 3.5mm jack with more contacts on it.
