I searched for over a year to unlock my Samsung I600 and there is no detailed howto or even a real way to unlcok it.
Well I finally did it and wanted to share.
First of all there are 2 types of locking, there is "SIM Lock" and "Network Lock". for the first one there are a couple of threads around the internet, but for the "Network Lock" you need a code generated specialy for your phone using your IMEI. The "Network Lock" is something that is saved in the NV RAM and so kept through ROM updates.
In order to check what is your phone locked to type the following *7465625*638*#
You will be presented with the lock status of your device.
Now I haven't tried it for the SIM Lock but it should work for all types of locks.
Type this code *#0011#
You'll get into a test menu, click "Back" and "Back" again until you get to the menu where you have the "Common" options (usually 9). select that option and in that menu you have "NV Rebuild" choose that option.
And now simply select the option "NV Rebuild no RF Backup"
It will simply rebuild the NV RAM and erase all locks stored in it.
Tested on I600 and I780 mostly likely to run on I900 and more Samsung models.
And that's how you unlock I600 Network Lock.
Hope it will help someone.

I tried to use the following route several times to unlock my GS3 with no luck. It is still saying no SIM Card. Any other ideas on what I can do?
Main Menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > (after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back, now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ
Thanks..
You need an unlock code if you are trying to unlock it for another network, don't know what the steps in that method you showed is about but I believe you need an unlock code to unlock it as there is no software that can unlock it yet.
Here is a topic about the available unlocks.

It might not work with AT&T S3 as it says : " Please note that due to different hardware, US Qualcomm based GS3 (SGH-T999, SCH-I535, SCH-R530, SPH-L710, SGH-I747...) are currently not supported. Don't leave bad feedback, I can't do much without one of these phones in my hands ! * "
I bought a ATT Galaxy S3. The seller called AT&T and got the unlock code. I popped in a Simple Mobile sim card and it says "SIM network unlock pin". I then entered 8 digit unlock code got from AT&T. But it did work. Still asking for sim network unlock pin.
Has anyone had same problem. Is Simple Mobile causing this problem, since it's a prepaid network? Do I have to use one of the big GSM networks sim card to unlock first then use Simple Mobile sim card?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
try this
it worked for me on my 2nd s3 running 4.0.4 stock ics (just got) =)
make sure no sim card inside the phone yet, if there is, just take it out
Dial *#197328640#
Main Menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > (after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back, now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ ..... wait for a minute then reboot your phone...
there won't be any confirmation just reboot your phone, put your sim back in, wait for about 10-30 seconds for your phone to pick up the network and kabaaam it is unlocked, the timing is important btw
Make sure the IMEI used to get the unlock code is 100% correct.
Secondly, if the phone has had previously failed unlock attempts on it, you may need to use a Defreeze code to reactivate an unlock attempt. The phone may be rejected the unlock code (even if correct) because of this.

Without a SIM, my phone will not dial this code. I've read that if I just try thee Unlock code all 10 times, on the 11th time, it will work. Some Windows Phone forum said that worked for several people.
found this online and it worked for me

No. I have tried the unlock methods on the web that work for Android 4.1.1 on the AT&T Samsung i747, and they do not work on Android 4.1.2. I have been unable to find any accurate directions for unlocking this version, but there are apparently lots of people who will misdirect you to the old instructions for the previous version.
Hey guys. You've probably had a bunch of posts like this, but I've spent the past day frustratedly searching up as much about this as possible and I still can't find an answer.
My mother gave me her old Galaxy S3 which had been network locked. I've checked the IMEI blacklist and it doesn't seem to be on 3 that you can check for free.
The phone is a UK Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i93505, originally on contract to Orange. I used Odin and flashed the firmware from 4.1.2 to JB 4.1.1 as far as I know, so that I could unlock. Everything was successful.
I followed the numerous guides on entering Service mode > Debug > Phone Control >Network Lock > PERSO SHA256 OFF > SHA256_ENABLE_FLAG [0] SHA256_OFF=>Not Change > Current Command is 118630.
From here of course, I go back, hit NW LOCK NV DATA INITIALLIZ > PERSO_NV_INIT is SUCCESSFUL.
From here I wait, shut down, restart, enter my new sim, but nothing changes. Any network access is still locked. I've read on one forum that people have had success when they 'change' ENABLE_FLAG from [0] to [1], but i can't find any instruction on how to do this. I've also read that the process only works when the Current Command is 118640 not 118630, but after repeated tries the code will not change.
It's doing my nut in, I don't want to pay for an unlock code or some guy down the highstreet to unlock it when I see so many people doing it themselves...any help would seriously be appreciated, i'm new at all this.
Thanks!
Are you using the unlock method from this forum? If you are, it may not work as it is designed to work with the i747 and i747m.

I think the free unlock method will still work for the UK variant. The instructions are slightly different, however. Try the following steps ...
1) Put a non-compliant SIM in your device and reboot with the SIM inside. Click on dismiss when prompted for unlock code
2) Go to the dial pad and in *#197328640#.
3) Do the usual [1] UMTS => [1] Debug Screen => [8] Phone Control => [6] Network Lock
4) Options [3 ]PERSO SHA256 OFF and wait for around 30 seconds.
5) Hit Menu button and click on Back. Then Choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ.
Enter *#197328640# again using the Key Input
If this doesn't work, after the first time at [3] PERSO SHA256 OFF, hit Menu => Back then [2] PERSO SHA256 ON then Menu => Back and repeat steps 4) & 5) again. You will notice that the info in [3] PERSO SHA256 will have changed.
After having a great deal of trouble getting my phone unlocked I've decided to post a short how-to in the hopes that I'll save some people from the same aggravation.
This was on stock Samsung ROM, and of course your IMEI must be clean. You will also need an active SIM card from another GSM carrier that can do LTE/4G.
First, go to the AT&T Device Unlock Portal and go through the steps. I didn't enter my real name. It's an automated system that will email you the unlock code.
You should get an email from AT&T fairly soon. It will have a link to check the status. Follow the link and if the status is complete you'll be shown the unlock code for your phone. Write it down if you're viewing this from the phone.
Shutdown your phone, open it up, remove the battery, and AT&T SIM. Put non-AT&T SIM in, replace battery and close it up.
Boot your phone and you should be prompted to enter the unlock code.
If the code works, then it will take you to the home screen and in the status bar it should not say there's an invalid SIM.
If the code does not work, then hit dismiss and do the following:
Dial *#197328640#
Tap the following: [1] UMTS > [1] Debugging screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] NETWORK LOCK
Tap [2] Perso Sha256 ON, and wait about 30 seconds
Reboot the phone.
You should be prompted for the unlock code again. Enter it and it should work this time (you should not see an invalid SIM icon in the status bar).
I'm anything but a phone expert so if these steps did not work for you, then I probably cannot help you, sorry.

Hey all! I have an almost brand-new LG Rebel 4, LML212VL. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 (MSM8917) SoC. I'm looking to root it. I don't have any other device that I can use, only the phone. Any help is appreciated. I've looked at this thread, but when I install poot and run it, it simply says "Invalid Qt version" and closes. I don't have any computer. Thank you!

I have the same model phone. If I find a root guide for it I'll let you know. Have you tried asking in the lg threads? Maybe go over there and ask around also.
Hello,
I have this phone LG LML212VL. Need to carrier unlock. Any help? I had this sent to me but still could not get anything to work.
How can you check if my Android phone asks for the unlock code?
Option 1
1 - Dial the following sequence on your phone’s keypad as if you were going to make a call:
2945#*model number of your LG#
To find out the model number of your LG:
Settings - About Phone - Model
On the sticker under the battery
For example: If you have an LG 610 type 2945#*610#
2 - The sequence typed will provide access to a hidden unlocking submenu with the following sections:
Network Lock
Service Provider Lock
Network Subset Lock
Corporate Lock
SIM Lock
3 - Check your phone prompts for the unlock code correctly under Network Lock or Service Provider Lock. If it does, you can submit your unlocking request.
Option 2
Insert a SIM card different to the Tracfone - U.S.A. network.
You will be asked to "Enter network unlock code" or for the "SIM network unlock PIN".

Good luck. BEst bet would be to check out "cdma-yemen" they are a talented team of Yemen coders. They always deal with Tracfone and can unlock about anything!
