[Q] Otter box/2150mAh - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Will the Otterbox Commuter still fit right with the 2150 extended battery and case? This is the one thing holding me back from ordering the battery. Any experience with the situation/knowledge is MUCH appreciate

I have only seen one case that will fit the DInc with a bigger battery, and it was basically a modded version of a normal hardshell case some website was selling. I doubt the Otterbox will fit, since it was made for the normal sized DInc. It would be nice tho, to see some compainies offer a case for the 2150, and 3500 batteries. I'm sure if they did, more people would buy the bigger batts.

No it will not fit. Otter box is designed exactly to the dimensions of the stock phone. You should go to their website and check out the questions and answers section. If you want an otter box case then I would suggest the 1800 Mhz battery by sedeico(think I spelled it right) being that the 1800 is the size of the stock battery.

[Q] Droid 2 Hard Case that fits Extd Battery

My subject says it all. Face it the any stock battery is too small, and everyone is buying the extd. battery, so why the heck can't they make hard cases that fit the Droid 2/D2G with extd. batteries?
Does anyone know of a hard case that will fit it, it would seem easy enough to add a second back and charge a few $$$ more for the extra plastic.
Verizon hard cases fit. They have a hump on back just for that reason. They thought ahead.

Thank you. I actually found one over the weekend at the Verizon store. Crappy part is the way it cuts down on the space at the top of the keyboard. I will get used to it, but not a big fan so far, nor of the price they charge.
If you use any case with the battery door removed it seems to work just fine. The extra lift from the extended battery seems to be about the same as the normal battery cover.
I use my seidio innocase with the extended battery but no door and it works fine.

Which case will fit the extended battery and also will be able to be used with the multimedia dock?
Too bad no Otterbox cases will fit the Droid 2 with the extended battery here

[Q] Battery Replacement w/case?

Ok so i have found a replacement battery (3500 MAH) for $22.49. It comes with a replacement back for it (I assume cause the battery is fatter than the normal battery that comes with the evo). My question is there any good batterys that are the same size as the original or a case (like otterbox or body glove) to fit a fatter battery?
It's a little more expensive but I bought the siedio and you can get the protective case that fits it. On the other hand, I've heard of people modifying regular cases by cutting out the back so it fits over the larger door. Cut the hard case with a dremel or something. The soft cases you could probably cut with scissors. Just cut a little at a time to fit. You'll get protection at least on the edges where the phone usually hits first. Hopefully this helps.

The biggest battery you can get to fit the stock case is a 1750 mah battery (vs. 1500 in the original).
thank you both of you answered my questions cause my next question dkelle4 had answered so thanks a lot
I just got a 3500 from ebay and I can't use my otterbox or seido case, but its worth the battery life
Evo 4G!!!
One thing you guys may or may not know is that the charge light turns green at 1500 mah. You have to charge the battery an extra couple hours, bout 3. Also wipe battery stats, recovery then advanced. Good luck. I hope this helps.

[Q] Where to get an extended battery COVER

Does anyone know where i can find an extended battery cover similar to the one by seidio for my evo? I have an extended battery from amazon with the big cover and honestly i dont like it... seems like it isnt made for my evo. I just feel like the angle that it pops out of the back makes it look and feel awkward, and i especially hate the 4 bumps on the corners above the battery. Sometimes i have to push on the corners of the cover because i dont want dust geting in, and i feel like the added space other than the battery area is really unnecessary. So if it's possible, i would really love an extended battery back like the seidio one, preferably in a different cover(that would be fresh ), if anyone can help me find one!
Because the extended batteries all seem to have such different battery door covers, it's hard to say. I have been checking (and hoping) for seidio to make colored covers for the Evo for myself. The closest thing I found was on eBay. So try there for cases if you haven't already!
Good luck.
edited....i think I misunderstood your first post. If you are looking for the battery cover door though, ebay will probably still be your best bet.

I have an extra seidio one i can sell you, its marked up slightly though, and one prong is missing i believe, connects fine and is not loose at all
how much you selling it for
If I was you I would take his offer if its within reason. I actually bought my seido from the factory store online and broke a prong off mine accidentally and looked everywhere for just the door alone. Now this could have very easily changed but as of before xmas? Seido themselves did not sell the door alone much less best buy or amazon etc. You can find a replacement flat standard door pretty easy, but one for the extended seido? I had tough time. I actually got them to send me one no charge, but I had just spent like 200 bucks with them so.....gl
The Sedio cover won't fit the Amazon battery.
Yes it will and make me an offer on the door its an official seidio

[Q] Case for Sprint 2600mah battery

Hi,
Wife loves her Evo, but hates the battery life. She really uses it, so she has to keep it on the charger. I have a Platinum (aka Seidio) 3500mah battery and love it, but she doesn't like how it makes the phone "huge". So I got her the Sprint battery. It's not much smaller, but apparently it is good enough. But she won't use the phone without a case. This is probably a good thing, because she drops it. Much more often than I like. I've been looking for a good case that will fit the battery. I've seen several posts that say that Seidio's Surface extended case will work. But I was thinking about the purple Laza case for Laza's extended battery (can't post a link. It's on Amazon). She loves purple, so this would be perfect. Does anyone know if this would work, or if there are any other cases that I should consider for her phone?
Thanks
In terms of cases your gonna be limited on what you can get . In the case of the Seidio (which I have) I had to cut the back out of a TPU case and more or less make a bumper case on my phone . Essentially you could do the same with the Sprint 2600 and its backplate . But you will still have a hump coming out of the case . The Laza case I believe only works for their backplate unless you are planning on getting that with the purple case . Like I said your options are gonna be limited . In terms of cutting a case like I mentioned before . If you take your time and measure it out very well you would almost believe it was part of the extended battery back and one piece .
Can you buy the backplate separately from the battery? I didn't see it for sale anywhere, but might have missed it. I'd be fine doing that if I could do it and if it would work with the battery. I'd also do it for my Seidio battery as well. I'd rather have one of the silicone cases than the Seidio case.
More than likely you should be able to buy the battery back by itself . I know Seidio sells their battery back as a seperate part . As for other battery manufacturers I am not sure about .

Right. It's just a question of finding one that will fit the Sprint 2600 battery. It has an oddly shaped battery cover. If I could replace the battery cover with something more common, then the world of cases would open right up...
May this help you decide
For what would be cheaper than the cost for a back elsewhere I thought why not just get a cheap battery for the price.
The 2600 battery I have is a cheap chinese version its the same size as the 3500 I got from Amazon, they fit the same back... Appears to be the same size as sprints 2600.
http://www.amazon.com/Laza-Sprint-Extended-Battery-Silicone/dp/B004LOBXZ2
The 3500 (generic, not laza) was 8$ and some change, comes with a back (exact size as lazas 3500 battery back) and fits the laza silicone case (you mentioned) that I also got (14.99) and it fits perfect, so you could use both 2600 and 3500 batteries with same back..
Those and a 6$ hdmi cable qualified me for free shipping (took about 2wks)... but all for under 30.
Backing fits case, contours and protects well, awesome battery life
after calibration. I been using for about 3 wks now.
No complaints ...it is bulky but I got big hands and it feels sturdy.
i bought my case from gorillagadgets.com check it out. pretty nice and fits the phone w/ extended battery

I have the 2600 from amazon and I wanted to get a silicone case but if a 3500 is that cheap and both batteries can fit the case I'll get the battery too and go with that!
-thanks for the heads up
I have the seidio innocase extended and it works with the 2600 battery.

Do you happen to have the link to the battery that you bought. Buying an ultra cheap battery for the back sounds like a good idea for me. I already have the 2600mah from Sprint and it's too late to bring it back. I used it for a while, and I liked it, but in the end, I opted for the Seidio 3500. So I want my wife to use the 2600 from Sprint.

If ur wiling to do a bit of modification, you can fit the sprint 2600 battery inside of a ballistic case.... I have it and its a beauty, no one ever knows that theres an extended battery inside unless i pop out the cover

Seidio Rugged Extended or Trident electra for sprint 2600 extended battery?

I'm looking for case options to use with the sprint 2600 battery, any suggestions? I saw the trident electra and it looks sick http://cgi.ebay.com/Trident-Electra...ccessories&hash=item3cb8d6da83#ht_1834wt_1163, but its $50 and I must purchase the battery. I also saw the seidio rugged extendedhttp://cgi.ebay.com/Rugged-Seidio-Innocase-Holster-Combo-HTC-EVO-Extended-/250865882528?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a68c595a0#ht_2353wt_1163 but I heard you need to do some mods to it in order to work with the 2600 battery, is this true?
Also where can I shop to find the lowest prices on cases?
Edit I can't live with the phone in my pocket waiting for the screen to get scratched, do you guys recommend the zagg invisiable shield? I'm going to BestBuy to check out the options later.
I have the trident case and all my flash photos come out cloudy.
I have the seidio rugged extended with the Sprint 2600 mah battery and it fits perfect with no modding....it also takes pictures and records fine so don't believe people who say needs modded because apparently they are just makin accusations ... The seidio also saved my EVO numerous times...ill take the bulkiness for it saving my money and my EVO.....I got it off amazon the second I ordered the battery from Sprint..
I have the Seidio case with the sedio battery and I love it. The bulk is worth the peace of mind.

I lol at my co-workers when they are freaking out because their EVO's are running out of battery and my 3500 seidio is still at over 60% an the end of the day.
i have the seidio rugged and no mods were needed. an awesome case for extended batteries plus the belt clip locks.
Is there an extended life battery that will fit in the phone and still use the stock back plate? Or would I have to buy a battery and bigger back plate?

+1 for this question.
Personally with all my searches I have never found a high capacity battery for this phone that will use stock plate. I was wondering if the Trident electra could hold the seidio 3500 battery? Anyone know?

Seidio and Amzer have a slim profile "extended" battery. I think the jury is still out on the usefulness of these since those battery capacity tests came out a while back showing that they offered no more capacity than stock and in some cases less.
Bought the 3500 battery from Best Buy. Its an off brand, platinum something or other but it says seidio on the back of it. Just ordered the seidio innocase extended rugged off of amazon for 36 and some change. Sad to put my otterbox off to the side but with the amount of streaming I do at work, I kind of need the bigger battery.
I have owned the seidio 3500 for 8 months...its a great battery. I ran it naked for about 2 months before that day I dropped it...and destroyed my screen. I replaced my screen and promptly order the rugged combo. Since I have actually dropped my phone from 4 feet on concrete/wood/pavement probably 6 times to prove how amazing it is...the seidio rugged does exactly what it says. Its very very impressive.

I have this Chichitec 1900mah that fits with the original back cover, does much better than the 1500 mah.
Ive used this for a week now, and Ive liked it, but still i feel i need more battery just in case since im a moderate-heavy user (500+ texts a day, 5-15 phone calls, 30 minutes of web browsing a day), so wondering if i should get the 3500..
but all in all, this battery lasts me from 10am to 10 pm on the Mikrom, and from 10am til 12 with about 20% left on Shift Deck.
BUT TAKE IN CONSIDERATION, MOST OF THE DAY I TURNED MY DATA OFF.
ALSO, IVE ONLY USED IT FOR 2 DAYS WITHOUT CALIBRATING MY BATTERY. ONE ON SHIFT DECK AND THE OTHER ON MIKROM.
will report tomorrow night how it is with the calibration done on MIKROM.
Heres the link.

Well i started using my phone at 12:27, and it is now 7:31 and i have 62 percent, with screen dimmed almost all the way down, no syncing and data on only when needed (about 30 minutes on), 7 phone calls, and 400+ texts so far.
I could live like this. Lol. Doesnt bother me much.

Have used the Seido extended rugged case and battery, and battery life is great - couple of days with mixed use for me - BT and GPS on, occasional WiFi & 'net; case and battery combo fit perfectly. The rugged case is so tight however, that I suspect the on/off button is continually pressed or frequently pressed by the case alone, and I recently began to have issues with the phone rebooting itself, refusing to turn off (without removing the battery), and other quirks that I attributed to the battery (Seido's) after several months of use; also bulks up the case/phone considerably. Battery also got fairly hot, measured internally (routinely over 100F), because the case really does enclose everything. I used the Otterbox Defender as well with the standard battery, and the Seido standard case. The #1 problem with both of them is the need for the standard battery - won't even get me through a day without recharging. Seido standard is a bit more rugged, and both cases have multiple reviews elsewhere; I like the Seido case better, for a number of reasons, but refer to problem #1.
Have recently switched to the Trident Electra and love it; the integrated back (no stock back plate) makes the unit almost as compact as either the Otterbox or Seido standard with the slim battery; I'm using the Trident extended battery, and so far the extended battery is outlasting the standard by I would guess double (still on the first recharge, so time will tell). Case is pretty rugged, but not as tough as the Seido I suspect (Otterbox may be comparable to the Trident because it's not quite as heavy duty as the Seido IMO). Seido and Otterbox have an extra layer of plastic over the phone on the inside, but I'm guessing the Trident would protect the phone from normal drops, bumps and whacks very well. The nice thing about the Trident also is that it looks like all of the case parts are replaceable; anything breaks on the Seido or Otterbox you need a new case. There are also ventilation holes in the back of the Trident case, and so far battery temp stays under 80F (consistently 77F to date). The Seido standard holster, BTW, fits the Trident case perfectly, and I like the Seido locking clip. I think I'm going to like this case and battery....
As an addendum, the Trident case is not a pocket case - I don't think any case with a silicone covering is. The soft rubber picks up lint, cat hair, dust, anything remotely attracted to it. You need a holster for this case, or any other case that isn't hard plastic....
