[Q] Why isn't there a Nonsense HD-Rom? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

refer to Topic!

Because a NonSense HD ROM is the same as an AOSP Desire ROM. The difference of the HD is the new Sense from HTC. Take it out and you see no difference to Desire ROMs.

naaaa... maybe AOSP with FastBoot? That's my thought

You say that..but i can tell you for certain that HD roms have more visual clarity in the display for everything than any other rom(s).

Probably because stock Android so is fugly Devs cba removing Sense

Desire hd Sense UI

Has the new desire hd sense UI been ported to evo? I have see that they are working full roms for the evo, but I haven't seen if they have ported the UI.

Its seems kinda like you've answered your own question. The Desire HD port has Sense we are waiting for someone to port it over to the EVO. The issue is the Desire is GSM.
There's a download in Development but its extremely buggy at the moment.

Thx! I'll wait for some of the bugs to be worked out though.

Can we expect wildfire s Rom on our wildfire?

With the release of HTC new smart phones including the wildfire s, I was wondering if the new wildfire s Rom could be ported to our wildfire. Both models doesn't have much difference in hardware apart from a slightly faster processor and a gpu, its roughly the same.. with a same screen size though different resolution. The Rom that comes with is 2.3 and has some extra features for instance Facebook face tagging which I saw on the wildfire s first look video posted by HTC on YouTube. So I'm just wondering can we expect this latest Rom on our wildfire?

i dont think htc will release 2.3 on wildfire considering 2.2 took so long and didnt even have almost any improvements due to lack of hardware.

I think the original poster is asking whether anyone here on XDA will be able to port the Wildfire S ROM over to our original Wildfires...in my opinion it is probably possible but we will have to wait and see as no one has the Wildfire S yet
Yeah but it won't be long before its released. Since it was possible to port the DHD Rom to desire so maybe its possible for wildfire s Rom to wildfire too.

I am not counting on it to be honest, because, the Wildfire S is a totally different phone compared to the Wildfire. It is now much more of an Aria / Gratia.
Desire HD is pretty similar to Desire, with the same screen resolution, almost same CPU (Just a mildly upgraded one), same GPU, and, only increased screen size, internal memory and RAM.
However, obviously, if the WF S ROM is ported to WF, it will be a great thing, it is just that I am not crossing my fingers (yet)
Not really, the differences in screen resolutions roils imply terrible amounts of resizing with little to no benefits for the old wildfire, except 2.3 that is.

is there a way to port the new sense ui to the original wildfire, coz i like that ui..

No. Because it is not designed for QVGA. Also, for Sense to be "ported", HTC must release the code AFAIK.
Porting the Wildfire S ROM is like porting the Aria ROM to Wildfire.
It's almost impossible.
No one knows whether it is impossible yet as no one has the wildfire s... it could be possible despite the resolution difference... probably not but we will have to wait and see

Just download and take a look. I can't extract system.img/boot.img.
Here is a better system dump of the wildfire s rom which someone confirmed in evolution 4g forum
http://www.morninglion.com/tp2martin/Marvel_Dump.zip
Can the dumps be modified to fit the wildfire? Maybe not the entire Rom but features of the Rom itself?

[Q] Sense vs. HD Sense ROM's

So ive just been going through all the ROM's i have used and trying to find a good reason to use standard Sense e.g LeeDroid, AuraxTSense etc... over an HD ROM like iNsertCoin or Reflex?
I just want to know features ive missed that arnt included in HD ROM's etc not a "I like that one better" thread
Thanks !
DHD roms are just as fast and bugfree as regular roms, so I don't see any reasons for running a regular one
DHD roms use a bit more resources to run but you get a little more with them than you do on regular sense. Just wish with sense you could tweak it like not running certain apps on startup. That sort of thing.

While there are lots of build for htc sensation there is no rom with sense 3.5 and ICS for desire hd why that, beside the fact that capy left us.

Why don't you put this question to HTC Company? They provide Sense ROMs.

Sorry but I don't understand what you are saying.
Another related question is there a leak of ics + sense 3.5 for runny?

Because no-one's managed to port it yet? Capy is apparently working on it, but obviously it's not as easy a task as people think.

the kernel source is whats needed to really make it work properly.
With runny being much closer to a dhd hardware wise, its quite a bit easier, not to mention no resizing needed (which can be tedious)
The ICS port is in progress (check dev section), it's now working fine (for a beta).
But isn't it too early to ask for a sense ICS ROM??? If I'm not wrong no HTC device has been released yet, where can we find the ROM to port to our DHD?
When an ICS HTC ROM will leak, then we'll see.
So stick to your sense ROM for now or try the ICS DHD port

ICS question please

Hi !
If I buy a HTC Desire HD and install a ICS custom rom , would the camera be like in the official ICS or would it be like other ICS based roms like lets say in Samsung Galaxy which usually always show errors and camera very bad with almost no options or in fact very limited.
Please advice me if the ICS in HTC Desire HD is worth it.
Thanks !
look, sense 4 roms have a realy badass camera, but the rom is too chalenging for dhd, if you nkow how to tweak it it will work nice. sense 3.6 roms also dont have a bad camera. i recommend virtous affinity

Only sense roms have the capability to utilize the HTC camera. Anything without sense will have a crappy camera.

Even still, the camera in custom ROM's still takes some pretty good pictures.

That's what I mean. Custom or factory. As long as it has the sense camera it will utilize the high quality HTC camera. Aosp and miui just don't have the ability to run sense apk's because you have to have the sense framework for it to work. I just can't do any non sense roms for this reason. Seems like a waste if you ask me. People buy HTC for sense anyways, otherwise your probably better off getting a Samsung or Motorola. JM2C.
