[Q] Cannot remove simlock on Tmobile branded Desire (GSM) - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I’ve been struggling to remove the simlock on an HTC Desire that was locked and branded by Tmobile (UK). The unlock code that I bought was accepted by the phone but there was no second request (I believe that the desire should ask twice for the unlock code). Since then I’ve had no network unless a tmobile sim is inserted. The phone hasn't asked for the code again.
Things I’ve tried:
DEBRANDING: I made a goldcard and flashed a stock froyo ROM as it was suggested that this process would remove the simlock as long as I remoed my sim during it. (http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk/blog/20100822-how-debrand-htc-desire-update-froy)
ROUTING
I’ve routed (Unrevoked3) and flashed a custom ROM (Leedroid 2.2f)
S-OFF
I’ve achieved S-off (AlphaRev) (but not Radio S-OFF, SuperCID and SimUnlock)
Everything went to plan, but still no network!
I’m not unique in experiencing this problem with a tmobile branded HTC Android phone.
There seems to be a fix for the Dezire Z/G2/DHD (easy full Root, S-OFF, SuperCID AND SIM UNLOCK) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857390 using Gfree
This fix for the Desire HD: One click Radio S-OFF, SuperCID, SimUnlock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537)
But nothing for the Desire!
HELP!! I’m exhausted and have run out of ideas.
Bootloader:
----AlphaRev-------
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S -ON
HBOOT -0.93.0001
MICROP -051a
TOUCH PANEL -SYNT0101
RADIO -5.11.05.27

Any advice would be most gratefully received!

wow, it sounds like you've tried almost everything...!
I had the same problem and called customer services (150) and told them I was going abroad for a few weeks and wanted to use a local simcard and they gave me a code to unlock the sim (free of charge) now I can use any simcard, virgin, orange o2 etc etc....good luck..!

That was my first step, but the code didn't sim unlock despite the phone telling me that it was the right one! Still locked to Tmobile but I guess I know more about Android than I did a week ago.

Same issue
Hi, I've got the same issue with my Desire...
The phone was locked with one operator in the UK, I then unlocked it but since then, I can not access any networks and I'm stuck...
Any help would be welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

network lock in O2 desire

guys,
i brought my htc desire yesterday and i found that its branded for O2 uk and its slcd screen so i used the method at the start of this thread but still i got (Network Locked) Please help.
my phone system is : HBOOT-0.83.0001
RADIO-4.08.00.09

this is the method i use:
[ROOT] Method for HBOOT 0.83 (SLCD phones) posted by lollylost100
That isn't a network locked Desire, unless that is the ROM now running on your device (x.xx.405.x is the generic ROM version). O2 ROMs are x.xx.207.x
thats right its a rom after rooting but im still facing problem with network lock .
please help

wildfire s

can anyone tell me how to de-brand a wildfire s and direct me to the correct file i need
thanks
first of all you need to know if your wildfire s is s-off or s-on, if its s-on forget debranding for the moment it can not be done... there are tools very close to being available to help to bypass the s-on such as alpharev x. please note.. the gingerbreak app does not work with s-on but will work with s-off so you wont have any problem rooting with gingerbreak with s-off... after you have rooted there are plenty of discussions on here to help you installing custom roms and ruu,s hope this helps a little..
thanks the comment but its an o2 with a 3 sim in it
does not matter what sim you have fitted, unlocked to other networks dont alter the fact that if you need to debrand from the 02 bloatware you still need to have the phone s-off.. before it can be debranded/rooted.. ulocked to other networks does not mean that its ulocked for you to debrand.... two seprate issues.. maybe reading your post wrong buddy but as i understand i am thinking you have wires crossed from debranding and network unlock and thinking because its network unlock its s-off.

how to sim unlock Revolutionary S-off phone ?

I got XTC-clip i have already unlocked couple of Incrd 2 devices everything works fine.
now the problem is i got an Incrd2 with already S-off with Revolutionary, so far i understand Revolutionary s-off doesnt do any Sim unlock (GSM) also i Noticed that Revolutionary changes the Hboot from 0.97 to 6.13.1002. anyway i tried it with XTC Clip but it doesnt make any changes or unlock.
so can someone advice me whether i can go back to Hboot 0.97 ?
I just called Verizon and told them I'm in the UAE and need to use a local sim.

Is it possible to change the radio for HTC One M8 from Sprint HK to International?

Hi,
I have inactivated Sprint HTC One M8 Harman Kardan and I unlocked, S-Off, change it to super CID and rooted it but still I could not unlock the sim card ( I tried the 2 methods to SIM unlocked but no success). Even when I install ROM I'm still getting the activating message.
Is it possible to change the radio or any other file to turn it from Sprint locked to international unlocked HTC One M8?
I know I made a mistake by buying it instead of the unlocked version but what has happened has happened.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone?

[Q] SuperCID SIM unlock

So, I got an M8 to resell, gained S-OFF via Sunshine and set SuperCID 11111111 in order to sim-unlock the phone, then removed S-OFF, then sold the thing on eBay.
Now the buyer contacted me and said that it asks him for an unlock code when he put in his sim card. What could have gone wrong here?
Should I have left S-OFF in place in order for the unlock to work?
Super CID doesn't SIM-unlock the phone, it just means you can flash any ROM to it
This should work, but you need S-OFF

I followed option 2 from this site: http://androidandme.com/2014/08/devices/three-ways-to-sim-unlock-the-htc-one-m8-for-free/
So I thought it was unlocked. I couldn't test if it worked though, since I don't have any nano sim available

Click to collapse
To my knowledge that has never worked, but then again I've never bought a SIM-locked phone. Chances are S-OFF was needed to do it if it does, indeed, work
