HOW TO create a shortcut of a program?

Dear all,
Please help me HOW TO create a shortcut of a program, I just installed manual and dificult to open this program by using File Manager. Please help

use file explorer navigate to \windows\start menu
just delete what you want.

Frankly, use a proper explorer app like GSFinder or Total Commander.
Find the .exe file for your app, choose Edit > copy, then edit > paste shortcut (or similar menus on your explorer app).
You can paste the shortcut anywhere you want obviously. \windows\start menu is the obvious place.

Program shortcut

I have installed a program which does not appear in Installed Programs.
To run it you have to tap an .exe file which is in a directory on the storage card.
Is there a way to create a shortcut and preferably an icon that I can add to the Programs page in the Touchflow.

I had the same issue (with Tomtom). I just made a short cut to the .exe in the folder the program was in, and moved that shortcut to Windows -> Start Menu -> Programs. I did this using Active sync.

I have just tried that however when I right click the .exe in file on the phone or in Active Sync I do not get the option to create a shortcut - just the Cut, Copy, rename, Delete etc.
Did you take a copy of the .exe file or find another way to do the shortcut?

using File Explorer in your HTC Touch HD right click on the target and chose copy option
go to the destination folder right click again and chose pase shortcut

I am not having any joy. When I right click and copy the .exe file and then go to the Windows -> Start Menu -> Programs and then right Click again the option to paste as shortcut is greyed out. If I paste the .exe file then it appears as a program in the list of programs however it does not run.
The shortcuts are .lnk files. I presume they point to the .exe/program files location however I cannot open them to see what is inside.

Thanks everyone - I did it. Just went to the Start Menu and then used Menu - Paste shortcut.

If you've already got File Explorer installed, just install the file explorer extension.

IGO8.3.2.X shortcut cannot be selected

I have igo8.3.2.x installed on my taouch HD,
but from time to time the short cut to the program cannot be selected (the Igo8 icon is replaced to white rectangle, i cannot uninstall the software and I need to delete it and install it again (whitch is not simple because it telles that program is still installed.),
can some one help me with this?

Try with total commander or Resco file explorer to go to IGO 8 folder, copy Igo8 exe and paste a shortcut in windows/startmenu/programs.
Then you can select it in the programs tab of Manilla

i have a program installed on my phone but the run file for it is in the phones files and dosnt appear on the other programs tab where the like of titter and IE are
is there any way of adding it to this so i can set it a icon the shorcut page

Easiest way is to install Total Commander (file explorer program, google it) which has a create shortcut option. Then save the shortcut under Windows/Start Menu/Programs

you can do it using the normal file explorer, just copy what u want to link to and then go to the directory mentioned and choose paste shortcut

i want tothe icon to appear in the programs when i click add to add a shortcut tab in windows so where do i need to copy the file to?

i got to the exe and copied it to to windows/ start menu and it appears there and allows me to add it as a shortcut but when i try to run it it s not enough memery on the device, yet when i run it on the device from ist normally location it runs no problem
any advice would be great

I think you need to paste a shortcut rather than the exe itself

instead of choosing paste choose the option below called paste shortcut

Shortcuts

Ok so I installed Igo and TomTom. Both working. All I am missing now are shortcuts when pressing my windows button. Anyone has an idea to create these ?

Locate the program. Then copy the program by: tap-holding the program and selecting copy.
Then you go to the following map: windows/startmenu.
Then past Shortcut there by tap-holding again and choose: paste shortcut.

tab-holding ???? I only see an option - Copy...

Found it, it says paste shortcut !
