I thought it was because of set cpu.. so i uninstalled that...
i was still getting the problem...
so i ran a touch screen test and..

everything in that red square is completely unresponsive.
I thought it was because of the rom/kernel I was running(myn rc4/ziggy's)
so i flashed cm6/neterachy
still the same thing.
what I need to know is; if this is software that can be fixed
or
if it is a hardware issue and if i need to take it to sprint?
if i need to to take it to sprint, I need to know if i need to unroot and how that works.
thank you for your quick replies.
Yes if you are going to take it to Sprint for repairs then you need to unroot it. Try downloading the stuck ruu from the Evo wiki and flashing it back to stock. If that don't fix it then yeah take it to Sprint.

hey so my galaxy s3 froze yesterday so i took the battery out and now it wont boot if theres a fix for that it would be helpful i tried different batterys and tht doesnt work but my battery works in other galaxy s3's. also i went to the sprint store today and they ordered parts to try and fix my phone but they might have to replace it. So i was wondering if there was a way i could get all my data from the internal SD Card somehow (remember i cant access or turn my phone on at all)
Thanks,
Dom
Something like this may be your only hope.
Thank you for that link ill look into it but idk if sprint will let me keep my phone if they have to replace it completely and i cant get it sent out and back within the next 4 days . :/
Have you rooted and flashed any custom stuff?
It could be hard brick or your screen somehow went bad and won't turn on.

It goes like this. The screen is still on and responsive, like I can keep pressing stuff but obviously I can't see a thing so it's pretty much useless. It happens so often now I literally cannot use my phone. Every time I turn it on it starts blacking out like this and flickering. Any ideas what this is? Thanks for helping
I think your phone's display is damaged. Anyway to be sure try a different ROM first.

yeah its not working with any other roms either. It also has this problem in recovery mode. If I try to take a screenshot it turns out perfectly fine.
+1, display seems damaged by what you describe

With this update, I am able to turn on my hot spot.
Can someone else confirm this?
I am not rooted.
Thanks.

Just curious, had you done the hot spot hack? Does it tell you to subscribe to the hot spot? And what I'm really curious to know, does everything work and work well on PJ1? There are a couple of people reporting data isn't reliable and calls drop. See here.
I am dead stock. I haven't done any hacking whatsoever. So far, everything works well. The phone was updated yesterday and I bought a new battery for it. That's it.

Sometimes there is no network service when screen is off or phone asleep. I recently changed sim card, that didnt work. I think doze messes this up somehow.
So I added a screenshot: I just came to a different location and when i turned my screen on there was no signal but a sec later the signal was good (in the same place) i literally watched it turn to almost full signal when i turned on the screen...
I had some problems, when i send an SMS it doesnt arrive or arrives late...
Thanks for your help!

This seems to be a software problem, if you use any battery saving application, disable it if not, clear cache, if that doesn't work, go to safe mode and see if the problem persists if not, a 3rd party application can cause this if that doesn't help, Flash stock firmware again. If that doesn't help you, I'd recommend you go to a LG service center
after a few months forgotten in a drawer, I picked the phone Today to see if I could sell it, but after a factory reset, this happened:
Your browser is not able to display this video.
I have tried removing it from my google account and redo the factory reset, but nothing changed.
As far as I am aware, the phone was never rooted, but OTAs did not work saying it was rooted and I had to flash updates via fastboot, this is the bootloader screen:
