[Q] Notification Bar Backgrounds - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so I was searching the other day and found a forum of cool notification pulldown bacgrounds with the android logo in the bottom right hand corner. I actually closed the browser before saving the page and can't seem to find it again (even through search). Does anyone know or can point me in the right direction to find these again? Thanks

I would like to know as well !

Is it the chromatic rom from the G1 development section? It has a reall cool android guy on the bottom of the notification bar.

If its the splash screen shown immediately before the boot animation then you will need to flash that separately using a separate tool.
Take a look in the Apps & Themes section, I've used it myself.
EDIT: Thread is here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860085

Take out the battery. Put it back in and start your phone again. If the same happens repeat the battery pull but this time hold down on the volume bar and THEN press the power button to restart your phone. After it starts up in bootloader select recovery by moving the volume bar and then hit the power button again. This will bring you back to recovery where you can flash the rom again or restore your backup.

Note: Start @ 3:15. In the video clockwork mod is black/green but that's just because its an older version, the newer version is black/orange. All the steps are still the same though.

Also keep in mind that some roms can take up to 5 minutes to load the first time. Normally (but definetely NOT always) as long as it doesn't keep reloading the boot animation, everything is fine - the rom is building your file system on your first boot.

Also what are the benefits of switching kernels? And which do you all recommend?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
if you took the time to read about kernels and what they are you would know.
but, i'm in a good mood today:
Kernels govern your cpu speed and how to scale it. Some are locked to a certain frequency set and some are made adjustable, but you have to get an app that interacts with the kernel otherwise it runs at whatever it is preset to.
SetCPU is the one I used, but I know there are plenty out there that others would recommend and swear by in a heartbeat.

Thanks, which kernel do you have and would you recommend me getting it?

I'm using Virtuous rom 1.02 with the advanced kernel. I clocked mine at 475-1100mhz with a low battery profile switch at 275-887 (i think).
Check your rom specific kernel to make sure it runs best for your rom. The rest is personal preference.

*sigh* Give a man a fish and he will eat all day. Teach a man to fish and he will drink beer all day.
Since you're on CyanogenMod, I recommend Pershoot's kernel (available through ROM Manager). If you're feeling bold, download Flippy's latest kernel. Since I'm running the CM-based PyroMod, Pershoot's kernel is built in.
Everytime i flash a rom do i need to flash clockwork mod recovery?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I suggest you check out the stickies sections that has links to a bunch of very well written guides that answer all your questions. the responses you get here are going to turn ugly very fast.

If you open clockwork and your current recover is the same as newest version then there is no need to reflash recovery. The only reason to reflash clockwork is if there is a newer version out.

Help pull picture from RRU...

Im looking for someone to help me pull a picture from you do the 2.3 RRU install.
It has a black background, and says HTC in white with a gradient.
Odd request I know, I've got a few recreations but there just not high enough quality imo.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You could root it and install a screenshot app.
Impossible, The phone is being wiped and reloaded with a rom, Sorta like in recovery so can't even do that, I'm guessing the image is tucked away deep down in the rru

Nocturnal shooter sense 3.0 rom. It was there last night and i woke up and its gone now.. it was the stock widget for 4g and wifi and gps and 1 other thing
Did u recently installed the Rom? If so, did u do it over pc and put it on sd card? Or downloaded from from phone and install from there? I ask bcuz some ppl do either way and that can be a problem. Becomes a bad download. I use to have shooter for a while but did not run into that problem. Have u posted in the shooter forum yet about this problem?
