So I rooted and got a slcd-compatible recovery installed.
My question now is, which roms work with slcd screens now?
So far, I've tried Warm2.2 and Desire-z, both stick on the white incredible boot screen.
I flashed this last night after i rooted my SLCD DINC
[ROM] *New* Sense(less) rEVOlution 1.0 Inc-EVO Hybrid Nov 30
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=856882
runs great.
Virtuous and Skyraider
Thanks guys. I ended up settling on IncRom. Its been real smooth for me.
I came from SR and Virtuous and both would give me random reboots regularly but not often.

So i finally jumped into the incredible customization world. I rooted and flashed Redemptive Revolution 1.7.1 and then applied the Alpha Burst theme. My question is what do I need to do to try out other themes?
Do I just download them and flash via Clockworkmod Recovery? Since this ROM uses the EVO framework, am i "limited" to getting themes directly from the EVO forum? I really want to try the Incredible REVOlution theme but I, obviously, am very paranoid about bricking my phone.
you probably wont be bricked if you flash the wrong theme on a ROM..bricking comes from not paying attention to important flashes to your phone.. Always nandroid- the worst that happens in a bad theme on a ROM is bootloops- And that's why you have a nandroid backup.

Yes on the EVO limit. You can flash Nameless v.5 on this, it is pretty slick. I tried flashing riptide but got stuck in a boot loop. Riptide should work on Redemptive, so I think it was user error. Redemptive 1.8 is up and running. You should flash the update.
When i first tried a new sense rom on my desire, the htcsense.com worked fine. I later uninstalled that due to it not being stable enough to use as a everyday rom. I've just installed the Cool Z V1 stable release (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899943) and I went on the htcsense.com and it doesn't seem to be working properly. I get this http://i.imgur.com/vyhKl.png when i should get this http://i.imgur.com/a0XEH.jpg (image from a friend with a desire hd) . The lock phone and ring phone things both work, they're the only ones I've tried. Is this just me or does it happen to all desires with new sense roms? Does anyone know of any resolution for this?
Thanks
pnw
After a shocking experience with the sensation (had two both sluggish as hell and heat was horrendous) I have returned back to what I know the Desire HD
Ive just placed my order with Amazon for a unlocked / unbranded version it will probably come with 2.2 on is it worth the 2.3 update , ive been having a look around this forum and there is mixed experiences.
When I had the desire hd before it was blazing fast (what makes me laugh sensation is a dual core and to me it appeared slower that the hd) but when I had it , the phone had 2.2 on ..... having experienced 2.3 on sensation im really bothered about updating it when I get the phone tomorrow
what do fellow forum users think please
My opinion.. Root + S-OFF it and get a custom ROM. Try ARHD 5.2, it flies
Anyway, if you do not like custom ROMs for some reason (I cannot think why..), you should still update. Gingerbread is just better.
I gess the sensation is slow due to Sense 3.0. You can try any Sense 3.0 ROM in your Desire HD and then try a Sense 2.1 ROM like Android Revolution HD or even the stock ROM and you will see a BIG difference in terms of speed and fluidness.
Before rooting my phone I had the stock Froyo and updated to stock Gingerbread. I didn't notice any difference in speed between the two official ROMS (both were Vodafone branded, by the way).

Full ACK. ARHD is ingenius
My G2 is rooted and I flashed Virtuous Sense 3.0 on it. It's kinda sluggish and sometimes it hangs. How can I flash the stock ROM back? Please help...
Let me ask a few questions...
What were you running previously?
Did you not do a backup prior to flashing a new ROM?
Do you want to go back to full stock, s-on, out of the box?
Thanks for the reply. It was stock, S-ON, out of the box before the OTA update to 2.3.4, then I downgraded to 2.2 to gain root, then flashed VS 2.0 first, then 3.0, and performance-wise, they're the same to me and hangs once or twice a day. My backup is now a VS 2.0. HTC Sense to me is good, but I can live without it. Just want my G2 back to stock, it was GREAT!
Search around the Dev section, if I recall there are some pre-rooted stock ROMs on there. Or you can just make the jump to CM7, maybe to CM9 (or CM9 based) ROM. I'm running Andro V13 and it runs well. As far as sense ROMs, I tried out Revolution HD for a few hours and was by far the smoothest Sense 3.5 ROM I've had.

Check out the dev section, I have a rom called g2slim. Its the newest stock ota update ripped clean with battery saving mods and speed tweaks. It has a ton of free ram at boot too, all those stupid lil apps take like 2mb ram each. I know it don't sound like a lot, but they add up!
Hello Guys,
Ive Got a Problem, thats why i'm here.
Ive got a Rooted HTC Desire Z (data under my Question)
and everytime I want to flash a Rom from VIrtous or with Virtous Basement
I get a Blackscreen at rebooting, other Roms are working (like CM9)
And because thats very weird I want to ask the Pro's
Data:
- Hboot-0.84.2000 (PC1011000)
- 4Ext Recovery System
Thanx Eddiegame
(and if theres a [Q] existing, it wouldnt help cauz my Cell is very crazy)
Edit: Actually, this is the Desire Z hboot...Have you tried flashing Sense ROM's or the ICS ROM they offer?
Jss i did flash nearly all Virtuous Roms, which are aviable
But none has been working... all Blackscreen.
Even Virtuous Sense 2.0.0?
I presume you have set up and have a grasp of how to use adb. If you haven't, look up a guide in our forum.
So, does adb recognize your device while it's trying to boot? (You can confirm this if you run "adb devices" ) If it does, what output are you getting when running "adb logcat"?
Sent from my DZ.
Jes i know how to use adb
and i tested with the Primadonna Rom
and it Said :
Code:
- waiting for device -
error: protocol fault (no status)
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
and the "error" is coming, when the blackscreen starts ...
hi, i am trying to flash the sense Android Revolution HD with HTC Sense 3.5 rom as posted by you on my G2 but it after installation it gets stuck at the htc boot screen, amazingly this happens with all sense 3.5 roms like CoreDroid v1.3, Virtuous Affinity etc. but roms like CM7 - PyroMod etc. are installed and run pretty ok(ok the andriod process keeps crashing while calling), could you put some light on the matter. i am new to this previously the g2 was running the mexdroid rom and i brought it online. i really want the phone to run HTC stock rom or similar coz i love the look and the feel of it. any guidance on the same would be greatly appreicated. cant post on the form coz i still dont have the rights to do so.'
TIA,

Dear mh09ad5578
Habe you tried the BlissSense ? Its the best one with 3.5 in my opinion the others did also not work for me so try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485689
Eddiegame
I suggest against 3.5 entirely, it's way too bloated to run smoothly on our phones.
There's plenty of Sense 4.0 development. The ROM's we have right now are blazing fast and pretty much everything works, except for camera. Won't take long till we have fully functional Sense 4.0 ROM's.
So my advice is to stick with Stock (Virtuous Sense 2.0.0), until Camera works in Sense 4.0. Also, flash the Unity kernel, I have v9 on mediafire (can't find v10 right now).
Eddiegame, in case you haven't tried that ROM then please do. It's stock with Virtuous kernel/tweaks.
But my Problem is that virtousroms aren't working right now.
At the moment im at Glite, waiting for a fully working Sense 4.0a
so i will wait c:
