[Q] No-Replies - About xda-developers.com

How long does the average "subscriber" to XDA have to wait to get a reply from XDA? I posted question threads at the end of November and todate no-one has made any attempt to reply. I even wrote another thread informing my willlingness to give a donation if the replies help me. Yet even to this I didn't get any reply. Here again are my phone's particulars:
Phone: HTC-HD2 T8585 Particulars
OS Ver. : W6.5, 5.2.21869.5.0.82
Manila Ver.: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM Ver: 1.48.405.2 (71294)
Co0kie Ver: 2.0.0.0

The forum members are all made of volunteers, so if you haven't had a reply it either because no one has seen it or nobody has the answer.
all you need is patience

I remember the 1st thread I´ve created asking a question related to the radio on my beloved Universal, to this date nobody answered it
Said that, there is no specific time to get a reply, that depends on multiple factors such as: Nobody is interested, nobody has seen it, and so on...
as Pilot said, have patience!

All your posts seem like they've been made in the Q&A section, rather than the device Q&A section.

updated download section

if this already exist, please ignore and forgive this post.
I think it would be great if there was an updated download section for each of the phones you have in your forum. I have a new att tilt coming in the mail and want the manila2d. I have read and read but a lot of the info is dated from 2007 and it's almost 2009 now. The posts I read say that the COOKS will have it out soon but I can't find where they have put it. If there was a thread that said latest or the custom Cab. files and had no post as to how why what I didn't read but just had the current and most, shall we say, elite cab files! Maybe I'm just off here and haven't looked close enough. I just saw a forum for moans and stuff and figured I would give it a try. Thank you all who have posted helpful info. I'm not gonna ride the **** saddle for yall though. Maybe tutorial section under the phone section, something that will take you from the new box to totally rox! I notice yall try to update the posts but then it gets all mixed up with peoples posts and confuses anyone who trys to read read read read read like yall keep telling people to do. Happy Thanksgiving!
Just have a read of the first post by the Chefs.
For example:
Just by looking at the First Page of the Kaiser ROM Development I can see 2 ROM's that mention "Manilla", 1 that mentions "Manila" (Typo ) and 2 that mention M2D.
Also if I read the first post of [15 November 08] HyperDragon III Raphael + Manila2D + YouTube . (Read First Page!) you can clearly see Manilla 2D in the screen shots, and by looking at the features you can see Manilla is included.
EDIT:
And as for guide's check the stickies in the ROM Development / Upgrading section for your device and read the wiki pages.
For the Kaiser mskip has kindly written a guide which he regularly answers questions on (as do I )

Goldcard: What can and can't be flashed?

I have read bits and pieces about what can/can't be flashed with just goldcard and the original SPL but am still a bit confused. Could someone please explain what is possible and what is not? For example, I have heard that you can't downgrade versions but obviously that is too broad a statement as some of the results people have posted in regards to the HK and EU ROMs suggest otherwise.
Unless I'm blind or mistaken, there's nothing much goldcard related in the wiki.
Edit: Moved from the development forum? ....okay
I posted this in the 'Desire Android Development' forum and it got moved to 'Desire General' and subsequently buried.
Can anyone answer this question??

help how to upgrade sense in my diamond

i download sense rom but i cant upgrdae in my diamond, hepl please how can i do it
Try to read the wiki-pages and the sticky threads on top of this sub-forum to learn how to upgrade your ROM.
Make sure you understand the steps clearly otherwise you may brick you phone.
People should look and search for the answers by themselves first (because most of the questions had been asked before many times), that's the reason nobody bother to answer you ...
Good luck!
BTW, it is also not good to open new threads for the same questions:

[Q] Can't Flash Custom ROMs

I got my Desire today and rooted it using Unrevoked. I tried flashing a couple ROMs and I keep getting Status 7 errors, something about bravo, I dunno. I tried flashing different radios then the ROMs again, still no luck. Any advice?
Is this because it's CDMA? I'm confused if it is. Is there a ton of GSM ROMs and very few CDMA ones or something? And why isn't there a CDMA section if so?
Well, that was the case. Got a CDMA CM 7 ROM to run. Back to the other two questions I posted above.
Please don't post the same question in multiple posts
Try searching list of cdma roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328
I didn't? I said I figured out my problem and then said I would like my previous questions answered.

Sorry so this was someone else with the same user name

Yea, I got no replies there and thought this would be a more correct place to post it. Are you intentionally trying to come off as an ass? Please don't come in my thread posting off-topic stuff that does not help me in any way. Thanks.
In any way other than your edit telling me to search.
So pointing you to a list of CDMA roms was not helping you?

5. Post a message only once.

Yea, you give me that list after you edited. Before that all you were doing is being an ass.
1. I did search, here and all over Google. Nothing directly answered the question as to why I was getting the Status 7.
2. I doubt it's a problem that I posted that in that thread and then decided this would be a better place to post. It didn't harm anyone. Unnecessary clutter is what you're doing.

MOD EDIT: BEFORE POSTING ANY THREAD IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
If you have developed a ROM, or are working with others to do so, the development forum is somewhere to discuss and share ideas, post useful feedback and logs or crash dumps, and to discuss a common goal developers are trying to achieve.
It is NOT the place to post your question because it gets higher traffic, or because more experienced users frequent it. Doing this just annoys those who are working on the device, and drives them away. Developers don't want to wade through 20 threads of "Help me urgently" to find their threads for porting and fixing camera issues etc. Similarly, if a thread is designated as discussion for developers say, porting a camera fix, please do not post in there asking "When will it be ready?", "Can I flash this yet?" etc. This is both completely disrespectful to those working on the project (you evidently haven't read the important posts in the thread), and also is making it harder for developers to find comments from other developers or testers when required.
Similarly, don't make loads of "Thanks for your work here" posts in an active development thread. It's just as annoying to developers as asking when something will be ready. If a ROM is complete, then go ahead and thank the developer if you wish, but don't go into threads for devs only, and interrupt it to post "thanks". It's basically spamming, and is treated as such.
If you are posting in development, you should have read every sticky and notice there, and should be actively developing or helping in the development of something. Developing isn't installing a ROM, or using a tweak, it's creating a ROM or other hack or tweak. If you haven't read for several days before starting out on XDA, you are likely about to ask something already solved. I registered on XDA when I first wanted to post, and that was to join in a discussion on something. Sure, join up and ask a question, but read the information available in General and Q&A first, as your question will have been asked before. Search is your friend here, become familiar with it.
Regarding when to post in development if you are not actually developing something, there is one occasion where it's acceptable. If you find a leak of a new ROM, which isn't already posted, and you verify it's legitimacy via either running it, or based on the source you obtained it from, then this is assisting in development, and should be posted in development. If you want to ask when a leak will be available use search first, then if not already in discussion, open a thread in general or Q&A.
If you have a problem flashing a ROM, this is NOT related to development. It's up to you to determine if it is specific to a particular ROM, and post useful information in that developer's existing thread for the ROM. If it happens on more than one ROM, and isn't a known issue (remember you should read several times more words than you post), then find out what you are doing wrong. Check guides written by others, try to repeat the problem and see if it happens every time. Something needs to be reproducible to be fixed effectively.
Once you have identified what you need help with go to the device Q&A forum (general if device lacks one), and make a clear, informative thread that explains the issue, and what you have tried doing to fix it. Did you re-download the ROM? Did you ask a friend to flash it for you, to reduce chance of user error? What steps (exactly) did you follow? What errors did you see (exact wording)? Did you double check all the steps? Did you do a wipe or hard reset?
If you make a clear, concise, yet detailed post, you will find help forthcoming, and should get the problem sorted very quickly. If someone suggests you try something, report back on what happened, did it work etc. Then, next time someone has this issue and searches, they will find this and have a verified and tested solution.
So remember... before you start a thread in development, ask yourself what you are developing. If you can't answer, then stop, step away from the post button, and think about where you are posting. Would it be better in General or Q&A, or is some more time with your best friend, search, required?
