Hi guys
Really need some help. I have somehow broken my phone.
The phone is S-Off and had been working fine for months on various different roms.
Today, I did a nandroid back up through clockwork and then upon reboot all my apps were missing. It soon became clear that the phone could no longer read the SD card
In recovery I can not restore etc as it says it cannot mount the SD card.
I stupidly wiped the system so now I can not boot at all. I can still get to recovery though.
Is there any way I can fix this and get the phone functioning again or is it completely dead?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

I rooted my EVO last night and was playing around trying to Unlock NAND and everything went wrong.
My SD card is completely blank. Nothing on it.
Every time I turn on my phone I just get the bootloader.
I have no idea what to do.
Please help.. What do I do?
Give us more details, explaining what you did up to now, then we might be able to help out.

Sorry. I don't really know how or what because I did so much.
I rooted it using a guide I saw in the Development Forum,
but with ROM Manager I could never get CM6 working so I used Revoked to turn S-OFF.
After I did that, Whenever I rebooted, the bootloader would come up and I couldn't actually boot up my phone. I went to recovery to do a factory reset and it still wouldn't boot.
So now my SD card is completely empty, not a single file.
With Bootloader and ClockworkMod recovery.
How do I get my factory default back?
Details are still a bit sketchy to me, but just turn off your phone, remove the SD card and plug it into your computer. Load one of the stock rooted roms on the evo wiki.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Supersonic/ROMs
Eject it and put it back into your phone. Boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache, and then install from SD card.
You must have reformatted your SD card when you were messing around earlier.

you should be able to use any rom not just stock. but yea from the sounds of it you formated your sd card your evo is defineatly not completly bad since it boots and gets to the bootloader and recovery there is always hope. Also if you ddint a note for the future ALWAYS nandbackup as soon as you can while everything is working before you change roms etc this way if this happens again in the future you can just nand restore ti back to where you were.
So, I am pretty new to rooting. But i really effed up. I rooted my phone, got rom manager, and was having a great time. I tried to download a rom, it didnt work and the screen just got stuck on htc evo 4g all white screen. So, retardedly i decided it would be a good idea if i formatted everything in the boot screen, including my memory card. Is there anyway to fix this, or am i soh?
just realized this message is in the wrong place...i reposted in q&a if a mod wants to close this.

If your recovery is not there when you boot into it, you'll have to flash another one.
If you can get to recovery, just wipe everything and flash a different ROM already on your SD card, or put one on there through the recovery menu
i have a wildfire s (rooted with s off)
i was getting memory problems whenever i was installing software. it was saying memory full, so i tried using methods to use ext2 partirion on sd card to use as system memory.
i could not get this to work.
so i thought i would look into putting a custom om on the phone to see if i could do it that way.
i installed clockworkmod recovery on the phone and selected backup, to back up my existing rom.
this was taking hours so i pulled battery and done a factory reset on the phone.
this worked. i then found a rom to put on there and just tried installing rom through cwm in android.
this failed and crashed my phone.
i am now stuck on the htc logo screen while loading. i have tried using the volume and power button to get into boot loader and tried going into recovery and the phone just hangs on me.
is there a way i can install the stock rom back on the device to get it working again just by putting in on the memory card. or is there any other method someone can suggest to me to help me get my phone back working.
i am not very good when it comes to these sorts of things, so if i could be pointed to and idiots proof method of doing this, it would be much appreciated.
sorry to trouble you all if this has been asked so many times.
thanks in advance

you need a goldcard

hi i tried putting a goldcard in there and following the prompts. i have a xtc clip. i think the problem occurred, halfway through flashing a new rom to the device, not quite sure.
i reload the phone but it just sticks at the htc boot screen.
is there a way i can put the stock rom for the phone on the sd card and reinstall the rom from there.
i tried going through recovery and nothing happens.
any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks by the way

i download : RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed(1).exe

so a big thank you to all them. and thanks to elise_s1 for trying to help me out.
i will try a sim in there now and leave well alone in future i think. lol
I need some serious help here! I own a sim unlocked i317 (I bought it second hand and it was already unlocked-1 year back). It was working fine (except it used to get restarted itelf 4-5 times a day since past month) and then last night after completing charging it was working fine and I slept then. When I woke up, to my horror, the phone was stuck at "Samsung Galaxy Note II" screen. I tried after removing SIM and mSD, and then restarting it but to no avail!
So the phone is stuck in Bootloop, it had latest jellybean rom from AT&T that had been sim unlocked. Recovery menu shows Philz Touch 6 with some errors like:
"Can't mount system/recovery"
"Cant load system/command" etc.
I am here seeking help in retrieving my stuff on internal memory and, if possible, all app and phone data before I try a factory reset or install fresh rom!
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated! Thank You!
PS: I'm not a proper programmer as my field is DBMS, but since I have basic know how of programming, I would manage to try your suggestions!
ok this should be a fairly easy fix. I would stop using Philz recovery as a first step. You should be able to flash the newest version of TWRP without losing any internal data or storage. go here to get twrp and flash in ODIN. https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxynote2att.html
Once you have this one your device boot into recovery and you can use the file manager to move and folders you want to save to an external Sd card. You may also be able to get a computer to recognize the device and copy your files that way.
Hello XDA,
Recently, a Samsung Captivate Glide was given to me to see if I could repair it. They told me the phone wouldn't turn on anymore, the screen remained black. Although they said they had just replaced the battery, I insisted that the battery was the problem. Upon hooking it up to a multimeter it became apparent that the battery was in deep sleep so I recovered it with a sliced USB cable. The phone then turned on to charge, but since I didn't feel like waiting for it to charge I inserted my S2 battery to boot it up.
Upon booting up the phone the Rogers screen came up (it's the Rogers model - sch-i927r), it adjust the brightness a bit and then proceeded to sit there forever. Since it wouldn't boot up I tried checking if Download Mode was still working. And it was! Same goes for the Android Recovery. Since this phone was never rooted or had a custom recovery it still had Gingerbread. Since the owner needed some files that were still on the phone I decided to flash TWRP, the CM11 compiled one, copy all the files to my PC and proceed to flash CM11 after making a backup.
However the phone refused to flash TWRP. I also tried CWM and going back to Stock but had no positive results. I even tried different Odin versions and different PCs. All of them gave out the same error that I have attached as a Picture. Upon googling it it seems like the storage is in read only mode, which I learnt from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 forums and also that the only solution would be to go back to Samsung.
Lastly I attempted to wipe from the built in recovery It asked for a password, however the original owner claimed he never had one. Upon forcing the flash by entering the wrong password the phone said it completed successfully but looking at the internal storage proves otherwise as all the files are still there. Trying to reboot to the system makes it either go to a black screen or corrupt the GPU memory (possibly - see attached pics.).
Looking around on the XDA forums I stumbled upon a thread by @steadfasterX which made a mod to boot the phone from an SD card. Since the eMMC of the phone is likely corrupt and causing this, could we use an SD card as the internal storage and boot up from there?
I am out of ideas. I don't have a backup of the EFS so I am being really cautious and fixing it wouldn't be worth it. So please help me! Any help is very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

you can not boot from sd card, you can use sd card as system partition, but you still need place kernel+ramdisk on internal flash.
You can try to replace bootloader

Thanks for the reply, I'll try updating the bootloader. Would it be risky though? I couldn't flash anything else and have no nandroid backup. Also, how would I go about using the SD Card as system?
EDIT: Risked it, flashed correctly but I still get the same error and I still have the Rogers bootloader. Any other ideas?

maybe check "phone bootloader update" on the left side, I think I didnt check when I did update, and it worked without checking.
First try this pack: http://dualhoki.vim.hu/bubor/dev/I927UCLG9_OneClick.exe
Try to repartition with pit file ( put pit file in pit box, no other files, and check re-partition)
You can find an alternative of odin http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/ . I remember there are many other options in heimdall, maybe you can find usefull error messages.

Hello,
Sorry for the late response. I got around to trying most of that. First off the PIT File was something that I was looking forward to since it seemed the most likely solution. However it didn't work, giving out a similar message as everything else. The OneClick also failed with a similar message. As for heimdall I couldn't get the drivers to work but even if I had it wouldn't have helped anymore most likely.
I am out of ideas. I highly doubt this phone is recoverable at this point.
Thank you for all the help so far!
Anyone got any other ideas? I think it's safe to call it dead at this point, but I am willing to try anything to fix it!
Thanks.
