What is the issue? You have to reboot every time to see a newly installed program? Or reboot to download more apps or are they making your phone reboot when they finish? Sorry, I just need a little more information in order to help you out.
Ok I may be wrong here but.... I think what he is saying is that he can download apps via the market but instead of switching from "downloading" to "installing" the phone reboots.
I've experienced this with a few different builds while trying to install different apps.

Hi All.
@Sztupy, Doc, Kalpik and all those who have ways with programming.
I am STUCK. I have a working phone with Sztupy's Goodbye RFS 0.1.
I tried to flash Doc's barebone v4 & it failed. Here is what I got on the CWM screen.
Waiting for the SD Card to mount (20s)

I had a working download & working recovery. I still have. BUT, in download mode, windows 7 x64 doesn't recognize my phone, when I uninstall my Samsung x64 drivers, my phone goes into MTP, but with installed USB drivers, nothing happens. SO, I am stuck with this ROM. cant downgrade, cant upgrade.
If someone can help me out & give me a update.zip which can repartition ALL as per 512 pit before trying to install, I will be very grateful.
That seems to be the only solution to me, BUT if anyone has an easier solution, I welcome it.
Thanks in advance. I love this community which has given a reason to treasure my SGS.
zip you are installing is corrupted it seems. Most likely it didnt finish downloading.

It downloaded correctly, I did it twice. I can even extract the whole archive in my computer without an error. I have been making & maintaining my computers for the past 17 years, but NO programming skills.
Just read - that rom uses some kind of lagfix too. No idea what (havent followed it) but good idea to ask/look in that thread how to disable it and how to update, etc.
maybe your clockwork corrupted
download clockwork again and ...
if you use lagfix first flash an official rom and then ty again
My guess is that there where an active lagfix when Op started to update. It messed up the filesystem and now its not possible to connect to phone. Have never experienced this even after 500+ flashes.

Doc, is it possible to undo ALL the changes done by Sztupy's 0.1 IN your ROM?
Ok, when in download mode, windows gives an error, I click on it, it takes me to the driver window. I uninstall it from there, after unplugging it, plug it back & the same error, mind you, its a working SGS in all respects.

Not sure, my rom flashes a new kernel, so all previous lagfixes should be wiped

Flash gapps
Hi, I just recently had the same problem as you (Ithink). The anwser is to download and flash 'gapps' on top of Mod Rom. Find the link by going to my question in Desire Q&A named 'No Android Market'.(look for blue question mark icon, near page 6) Make sure that you delete user history and cache before flash. You should then have working Android Market icon on your Desire. you will need to register with google as part of the set-up(after flash) so have your wi-fi enabled. Good Luck, baab666.
that means i have to flash my mobile again?
No
No, you just flash gapps,
1) download gapps.zip
2) place gapps on sd card
3) boot into recovery
4) clear user data and cache
5) install gapps
6) re-boot and register with google.
thank you very much
now my market is working
but all my data was lost
Sorry
Yeah, Sorry about that, you're meant to load 'gapps' straight away after Mod Rom. If you don't clear 'User Data' and Cache then it doesn't work. Shouldn't take you long to get sorted again. I use Cyanogen Mod 7 (Rom) and it is very nice, try that next time. baab666.
Hello. I have just been given an old HTC Desire to play with. I have no sort of technical knowledge about Android but i would like to be able to run stock android on the very latest version possible. Can anyone help?
I remember reading someplace that you can dual boot? If thats possible i would like people to recommend what custom roms i should try. I haven't got a clue where to start so any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris.

I don't know where you heard that you have to enable fastboot, but that information is incorrect.
To root and s-off using revolutionary, you must enable USB Debugging from Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging. then install hboot, fastboot and adb drivers (http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install ; http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-set-up-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows-tutorial/).
Then, run revolutionary while the phone is plugged in your PC.
(For kevikevs: download revolutionary from www.revolutionary.io)
Thank you very much, I'm now rooted! ... I guess?
Revolutionary closed by itself after i opted to install the ClockWorkMod tool.
My phone is now on the screen with the 3 skateboarding Android dudes.
It says "-Revolutionary-" at the top and "S-OFF". Do i hit reboot?
So how do i now install Vanilla Android?
Cheers,
Chris

It's safe to reboot now
Well, you don't install it yet.
In my sig there's an sd-card partitioning guide. You will have to partition your sd-card to have your internal memory increased. Follow it, using the fastboot method.
Then you can install a JB rom.
I recommend either this rom :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766550
or this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070704
You install a rom by:
1. Download the rom zip.
2. Put it on your sd-card.
3. Boot in recovery.
4. Do a backup from recovery.
5. In the wipe menu, select "wipe all partitions except sd-card"
6. Select "Install zip from sd-card"
7. Wait for it to install
8. Reboot.

Props to both of you. This has been very helpful. Think I can dual-boot vanilla with HTC One's ROM? Tried it at a store, felt very nice.

A2sd is the script that moves apps to your sd-ext (the partition on your sd-card that you created using my guide). It will let you install way more apps. There are instructions in the ROM thread.

Try flashing ROM without the GApps,if it boots perfectly then there is issue remain gapps only!
You won't find Beta6 due to some issues download link was broken and its not available.
Make sure you're flashing correct updated GApps accodring to version of OS. I think your problem lies somewhere in rom or gapps so try with flashing some other ROM and it won't be any problem.
Good luck.

First off, use TWRP instead, it's much easier to use and just works better in my opinion annnd you can themes.
I would recommend downloading it on the phone itself. It'll be located in the Download folder and ALWAYS make sure it says .zip otherwise it wont appear in recovery (for example .png files)
use an explorer app like root explorer and make sure it has .zip at the end of the name. :good:

Location is rom related not gapps. So obvious question: did you wipe everything? As for gapps just use any 4.4 gapps (pa preferred).
