I just went from Cyanogen to Warm TwoPointTwo and I can't get the animations to go away.
I've tried taking off the clock widget, then putting it back on, UNCHECKING weather animations, and then removing that clock (since i dont want to use the HTC clock) and yet they still show up!
any help is appreciated!
If you are rooted and have titanium you can freeze them. Or just remove them altogether from /system/app
Did you go to display, animation check no animation?

Maybe you should try remounting rw and deleting HTCWeatherWallpaper.apk file? I think that's what it's for. It's the only wallpaper apk I have on my rom. I'd just try pulling it with ADB, then deleting it. If the problem goes away, then cool. If not, put it back as it's probably for something else.
Edit: If you need directions on how to do this, say so and I'll tell you.
Just remove the clock and manually add it back. When adding it back, uncheck weather animations.

Are you using Widget Locker? Cause that'll keep them on even if you turn them off on the clock...you turn them off in there also.

Excuse me. What part of the OP did you actually read? You didn't miss the part where he said that he removed the widget, re-added it and unchecked weather animations, right? It just seems like you did.

Nah. I'm just familiar with the concept of sarcasm. The OP clearly stated that he removed the widget, re-added it and unchecked weather animations. Then Rydah805 says to do the exact same thing. It's like he didn't even read it.
Help the OP not be sarcastic to other users. it's not a open party conversation. it seems the OP's problem lies in actually "freezing" the app. or just reflash the rom
there is a setting in one of the xmls that actually controls that... i think its in the rosie apk... but i cant remember off the top of my head where i saw it.
its in bool.xml inside /res/values/ which basically presets a bunch of values to true or false... what i think might happen is that the animations were set to "true" and therefore they go on, but for some reason it doesn't get changed... which is very strange cuz it should.
are u using Rosie or a different launcher... and if u r using rosie please let me know if when u try a diff launcher it still does it.
of course i assume u r using rosie cuz otherwise the clock wont work... but u also said u took it off and they still come up.
i dont have time to dig inside for the exact location of that xml... but i hope this gives u something to look into real quick.
You can stop the animation by touching the screen. When you press the power button to wake up the phone, touch the screen right as the animation starts. The animation magically goes away...stops. No big deal. If it still bothers you, just trash the HTC clock widget....download Fancy Widget from the Market and place the Fancy Widget on your screen in place of the HTC one. It also has the weather..no problem...no animation. It has a great clock. The BONUS is the replacement widget gets rid of that FUGLY flip clock from the 80's that HTC thinks so much of, but I think sucks...even on the newest version of HTC Sense that animates the flip as time goes by. This new one also sucks.

Lol I didn't. That should work though and since be did that and it did not work, it sounds like he should nandroid and wipe then reflash his Rom. It doesn't hurt to try. Do you want to disable animations in the app also?(when you click into the camera app.)

K when I got my evo I used advanced task killer and but I don'tuse it anymore. Anyway the main widget doesn't work anymore doesn't show date or weather or anything. Anyone know how to fix? Ihave done a bunch of reboots and everything. I'll upload a pfc in a sec.

any luck restarting the phone with advance killer turn off? u might have changed the setting to automatically kill the sense widget. also try removing the clock widget off and putting it back on. if u go to advanced task killer and press menu>setting uncheck autostart. then restart the phone and lets see what happens
i've done all that actually got rid off everything i had set up in advanced task killer, have tried getting rid of the widget and putting it back on a million times and it just deosn't want to work. i've tried everything and i have no idea why it isn't working, but it looked so nice when it did.
the widget you want is under 'clock'. so, on the home page you want to put it, hit menu, add to home, widget, clock (not analog clock) then hit the little arrow button at the bottom until you get to the flip clock with weather on it. select it. presto. you're done.

anyone else wanna try this is so annoying.
BUMP for a problem that will probably affect someone other than myself.
hey mods can you guys move this to general or android development, maybe someone who can help me will see it there, and i would rather not make a new topic in a different thread. it's just really infuriating i have literally tried everything it hasn't been working right since saturday so i figured i would ask on here after a few days. this has to have happened to somebody at somepoint, it must be something simple i'm missing.
this used to happen on my G1 ..all u have to do is delete the widget from the home screen / restart phone / add widget again
Thank you will try.

Reflash whatever ROM you are running over the top of your current ROM in recovery. You shouldn't have to wipe to do this and it should restore your clock.
If it still persists, then wipe and then flash your ROM in recovery.
under the setting part of the widget, try and set it to a specific location, not 'my location'. it may be that it can't find you. especially if you're on a wifi network
i'm not running a rom, haven't flashed anything. all i did was do unrevoked to get root for a couple of things, and i have it set to miami. with gps on and everything. though i am on 3g now and no difference.
all the widget has is the time, no date or anything and it says miami, no clouds no sun nothing.
Try downloading a rom..take the weather widget out place it on ur sd card install via astro ..
Verify your auto syncing it turned on.
Does anyone know how I can change the evo lock screen to the android lock screen like on the droid. It just looks so much better. That would be cool

No problem. - The original Sprint boot animation is so ugly I just can't believe they'd hire someone to make that stuff happen at Sprint.
Here's another link on how to apply a boot animation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697527
I think he was asking about the lock screen, not boot animations...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesnt the droid use the stock lock screen? If so, this is a theme in damagecontrol
I juss don't like the stock lock screen for the evo.i like the android lock screen better
Is there a way where I can still change my htc sense lockscreen to the droid lockscreen without rooting?
It was late last night. He DID ask about the lock screen.
My whoops!
Well at least be know how to add custom boot now.

doubtful, you need to be able to remove the htc lock screen apk i believe.
Well do I have to root my phone in order to run the boot animation?
I don't want to root my phone yet that's why, but maybe if I just do what you said
I think so, because to modify the boot animation files you have to have access to rw system
there is an app in the market to change your lock screen.i think is lockbot or something like that.

LOCKBOT IS AN APP TO CHANGE YOUR LOCK SCREEN, you can change it to look like the one on the droid, you can chage it so it looks like the , iPHONE,ECLAIR,Froyo,x10, and galaxy, i think this would do what you want!!
ps. to the one that posted above me, are you forealz, do you even know what lockbot is???
Ok cool, then I guess I'll lockbot thanx guys
I've switched to CM7 recently, and really miss the utility of the Sense clock app.
Would really like something that has clock/alarm/timer/stopwatch in one app.
I've searched for a while and can't find anything.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Well, i can't say i know something that covers all your req's, but I use FlipClock Blue Magic and it is a pretty nice clock. Resembles the sense clock and allows skins and other customizations. It can show your next alarm on the clock (although not set a new alarm). It does allow you to set an application to start when you touch the hours part of the clock. It can also display system information and weather.
No timer/stopwatch though, but if you find a timer/stopwatch app, you can set it to launch that app by touching the hours on the clock.
... Just set the cm clock as the application to launch for the hours and it brings you to a screen where you can set a new alarm, show picture slideshow, access your music, and get back to your home screen. Might be worth a shot
This was written by an XDA dev. Absolutely awesome.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I'm not looking for a widget. I'm fine with Beautiful Widgets/Simi.
<br>
I have it now set up to bring up stock clock when the hour/minutes are touched. I wanted instead to have it launch something else that would include both a clock and a timer/stopwatch.
But I guess if it doesn't exist, then it doesn't exist.
Oh, lol! Sorry I totally misunderstood your question lol. I will keep an eye out now that I re-read lol

I did google a little bit but most things are about calendar notifications, I'm lookin more for an actual calendar I can put in my notifications bar.
I just switched from iPhone so I'm actually lookin for something like this. modmyi.com/images/joshua/calendarfornc.jpg
I think you'd be better off finding a calendar widget to your liking. I'm not aware of any notification panels that have widgets embedded in them.

I agree with Spycedtx. Use a widget instead. If you want to reach the calendar widget from any screen you could add it to a SwipePad panel that has a widget launcher. It works very well for me with a quick settings widget and a note widget.
Thanks guys
Cool the swipe pad will work and has more uses too. Maybe it's cause I was an iphone guy but I'm not a fan of widgets yet. Maybe in time

Using the app called Popup Widget, I'm able to quickly place any kinds of widget directly on the second screen, since we can easily move back and forth app shortcuts from the second screen and home screen, but that mainly applies to the stock launcher only, tried with Nova, but didn't work. Anyways, here's a video showing an example of creating widget and placing it into second screen and works fine.
https://youtu.be/mX-diQEANw8
The app is called Popup Widget, and can be found on the Play Store.
Credits @klark1kent for the idea of implementing custom widgets on the second screen using Zooper and Tasker apps. If you want, you can head over to his thread in the link below for an in-depth guide using Zooper Widgets
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/themes-apps/screen-custom-app-icons-widget-t3269726
Update: So, I've created a new video that actually allows you to add more icons/shortcuts to the second screen. So take a look over at the link below.
https://youtu.be/nuo0IAhwUR0
The app is called SiMi Folder Widget, and can be found on the Play Store.
You've been busy. How did you ever come up with this? Nice video though

Usually what I'd do since you can easily toggle between different launchers via settings, just switch to the stock launcher, place it in then change back.

The idea was actually from your thread, so got to thank you for that idea that you actually came up, and I was looking around for other alternatives instead of using Zooper and Tasker, and Popup Widget sort of solves the issue for me. And also having to place any kind of widgets on your second screen really helps in situations where you wouldn't want to get kicked out of other apps, let's say if you are messaging and you want to quickly see some new tweets to freshen up.

That's exactly what I said in thr original thread. I used popup widget also but hey I'm happy you liked the idea and clearly I didn't create a guide initially because I wanted to get it out to the community as soon as possible anyway I agree the options are endless... The only thing about just using popup which I alluded to in the other post is that it wasn't working with other launchers and zooper allows you to create your own widgets and add them to popup instead of relying on system default widgets. Let's keep the innovations coming though but yeah I was surprised you essentially jacked the idea with zero credit. Thanks for making it right

As those are LG-based Widgets, which is lockdown only to stock launcher, Popup Widget can't recognize it as a proper widget, only universal ones work.
Hence sadly it's not possible to actually get those into the second screen.
