I think there's already a lot of threads about Social Networking for X1.
I'm just curious. Official x1 Facebook App is not that good. Does no auto-refresh and notify you for any new activities.
I find no Official Twitter App.
I am thinkin for having "via experia" in social N updates. Like in facebook for blackberry it says "via blackberry". I know it's kinda childish but it makes me proud I got this xperia phone.
Can anyone please direct me to all Social Networking App compatible for SE X1?
Thank you and God Bless!
I recently download the windows mobile marketplace for my x1. This is like the app store for wm 6.0 and up. From the marketplace i downloaded the facebook app which is much better then the x1 facebook app and the facebook panel.
Try it out.
To get the marketplace, search windows mobile marketplace on your x1(i used opera) and then go to the microsoft windows mobile link and follow the instructions from there.
hope this helps.
ps. Facebook and many other apps are free through marketplace.
For twitter I use motweets. It comes in two versions, one ad-supported and therefore free the other is commercial software. I use the free version and I am happy with it. I don't use facebook at all (hate it) but have you tried the xda facebook app yet?

I want to buy a substitute for the basic android twitter client. Which of these twitter clients do you recommend, and why?
Twicca.
I'm surprised you didn't include this in the poll as it's considered one of the best twitter clients out there (according to many users - also free).
At least you can give it a try before spending money on a commercial app and if you like it, you can still donate to the developer.
Good luck in your search!
Tweetdeck Beta
http://www.tweetdeck.com/go/android
Twicca
It doesnt support multiple accounts, other than that the best available twitter client for android.
I love the picture preview and the clean streamlinrd UI.
Tweetdeck
Tweetdeck, its only in beta for android and you have to get it form their site, but its very good.
seesmic is da best
In the first place, what are you looking for that the free clients cannot provide? It is not possible for us to recommend anything without knowing your requirements.
If you're still looking for a twitter client. I always looked for a HTC Peep-styled app widget.
I just found "Touiteur", its from the developers of "Beautiful Widgets".
I love it because the UI looks nice and userfriendly and FINALLY an app with a 4*4 scrollable widget (for almost all known launchers that support scrollable widgets...except, of course, Touchwiz)
just wanted to share that, i know that the last post is 3 months old. havent found a good client in another thread.
Twidroyd is quite good
I tested Twitdroyd as well, i couldnt get used to any twitter client. But twitdroyd seems to be very popular.
Im just glad, that i found touiteur^-^

Would it be possible for a developer to port this windows mobile app to bada
its a facebook app, as we all know the bada fb app is useless
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9779193
its open source and i have asked the creator and they said we can give it a try
i would try my self but i have no experience atall with any developing, im currently teaching my self basic development but nothing to serious
facebook mobile is better than bada facebook app and only thing is it doesnt have chat option. as you said some developer needs to show love to bada..
@Sturgie
I think some usefull third party facebook apps will be available after bada 2.0 release because nowadays we developers have no access to the internal pusch services and no multitasking is supported, that means you could only use this app if you wont to be notified for changes.
With multitasking and third-party sns integration it would be something easyier to offer a nice app to the users.
Hey XDA,
Romit Metha (@theromit) started a Google doc that is keeping track of some of the most popular and big name mobile apps out there and whether or not they are available for WP7.
Here is a link to the list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Atl58J-8ikdwdHpVOTJzTjhGSHBTeVUyRlNjVHRsX0E&hl#gid=0
Do you want me to list them in this post too? Or just refer to the link?
Tweet suggestions to him (@theromit) or post them below and I'll pass the message on to him to update the list accordingly.
What apps do you want to see on Windows Phone 7 that are available on iOS, Android or BB?
I'm looking forward to a Wells Fargo application or Mint.com, as well as Nike+, and Instagram.
Sam
PS:
We are looking for suggestions for apps that are officially on iOS (iPhone) and Android (Smartphones not Tablets). Maybe a thread for the tablet versions of apps can be appropriate in the Windows 8 forum once it launches later this year. In the meantime lets focus on mobile!

Code:
Spotify
Soundhound
Are already in the Marketplace for a while now...
And Nokia has a Univision app (don't know if its official).
People also want a YouTube app and a Google Maps app (all official, arguably more wanted/needed than Google+)
+ 1 for teamviewer - that would be amazing.
Skype obviously. Also Aweditorium, Flipbook, dragon dictation, and most importantly a UK version of the Amazon app.
What's missing the in the list (ordered by importance) :
1) Hamachi, HAMACHI , HAMACHI!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. LogMeIn is different from Hamachi. LogMeIn let's you remotely login (a sort of VNC client/server), Hamachi creates fast and easy peer 2 peer VPN (even behind firewall).
2) Jaxtr !!!!!!!!!! JAXTR !!!!!!!!
3) a proper Console/cmd for moving, rename files, ping and similar
4) torrent client
5) a java virtual machine (even an emulated one would be good enough)
6) ssh/ftp/http/php server (3 different apps)

Flipboard would be amazing, both on Windows 8 and Windows Phone. I feel like it could translate nicely with the metro design language.
Keep the suggestions coming XDA! I'll work on updated the first post in this thread and keeping it clean and organizing it better. I'm also going to send our suggestions to Romit too.
Sam
I would really like a really good Comcast Xfinity app. I was pumped when I saw this a while back.....http://pocketnow.com/software-1/windows-phone-7-app-concept-comcast-xfinity
It may be a reality after seeing this.....http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/comcast-confirms-microsoft-deal-xfinity-coming-to-xbox-360/59853
I'd like to see:
Words with Friends
Square (credit card processing)
thank you very much for useful info

So true. Flipbook looks and feels like it should have been an app designed specifically for metro. They both quote a 'celebration of typography'. It will really shine on a windows 8 tablet, but I could easily see it working on wp7 too. Fingers crossed.
Skype and a Port of the Android App "Quizoid" ( I have the Database with the Questions, so I can port it, but alone is not so easy ) ...
Opera browser with flash support.
Just visited and realized the rendering at the twitter mobile site is bad again. Anyone with the same experience or just me?
Sent from my HTC HD7 using Board Express
It was on me a few days ago, it was living in the 90's lol.
Cant believe I used the mobile twitter just to see pictures, until I bought Carbon.
Also I wonder if twitter has a touch friendly website.
I wonder when Twitter will release a decent app for Windows Phone. iOS and Android users have push and the most basic and important features. Us WP7 people don't even have a live tile or notifications. It's the official Twitter App. They should have some respect for us the users.

I agree with this, although Microsoft and Twitter (and also Facebook) should all do something.
The OS itself doesn't do native push notifications with facebook and twitter, with live tiles, these are just display feeds that refreshes about say 30minutes to 1hour.
Twitter does have an official app for WP7, but its laggy and feels like its using a lot of memory.
Facebook doesn't have an official app but the one from Microsoft is cool, they still should consider improving the app (like remove game requests and like comments) as a 3rd party application and leave the basic functions to the OS.
Back to topic, the twitter mobile site doesn't like IE9 very well.
Obviously none of you guys have tried the recent update to Rowi Twitter client. At the moment they update notifications every 2 or 3 mins & are going to bring instant updates in the near future. The app. feels almost native as its so fast & buttery smooth. It has all the functions I need in a Twitter client. It is also going to sync with Metrotwit desktop client in the very near future as well as add more features. If you haven't yet tried it I can recommend it & a free trial version is available on the Marketplace.

I think most people are kinda miffed that it's the official apps that are lacking. Sure third party solutions are good and currently on WP7 clearly superior to the official ones (personally use mehdoh).
But twitter and facebook half arsing their apps just makes them seem to not to care.
They should know good apps are part of a good OS experience

Some examples:
4th & Mayor > foursquare
YouTube Pro > YouTube (the microsoft app which is just a shortcut to the website)
Although I do like having the MSN emoticons and emojis integrated in Windows Phone.
Best Facebook app for nexus 7....the stock one sucks.

"Fast for Facebook" is a good alternate app.
i use "friendcaster"
I also use friendcaster, it is a very nice client and they also make an amazing twitter app too
The main problem is that, due to how facebook user privacy settings translate, certain posts are unable to be shown by the FriendCaster and any other third party app. You can't have an FB client that doesn't show all activity but the official FB app is horrible on tablets. My solution is to keep friendcaster around for when I know I want to do something––wall post, comments, photos etc––and use a bookmark to the mobile site for the news feed.
This is inelegant but is the only way i'm happy with until the official client gets tablet support (if ever).
