Hi guys I m looking for a screen-lock customizer, but no luck yet. Suggestions?

Widgetlocker is great.
but you have to pay
I see and there is no trial version to test it, but the app seems nice.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
You will not regret widgetlocker. Trust us. Its probably more stable than the lockscreen on my vibrant.
Sent from my unicorn
I downloaded it online to test it (and check it works on the defy with launcher pro) and after that I bougt it. Awsome app.
Love to have widget on the lock screen
Ok I'll try it and I must say it's quite cheap after all

Are you guys having luck with Launcher Pro on the Defy? My sister has one and I tried to install LP and it lagged horribly..could hardly even switch screens it was so bad

Works fine for me, actually improved performance a lot, you don't have a live wallpaper on by any chance?

I actually use launcherpro and it's perfect, good performance and nice effects.

Finally installed widgetlocker and I must say that's a great software. The only thing I'm missing is a way to launch it directly from a shortcut; anyone knows if it's possible?

in what respect? can you explain further? Where do you want this shortcut on the lock screen itself or on one of your home screens?
Sorry guys I must be blind: there's a specific shortcut created by the program itself which does exactly what I need
Thanks anyway higgsy ;-)

Is it strange that i don't use the autolocker at all? When i don't use the phone or put it in a pocket, it push the power button. That seems pretty much enough to shut the screen and block the touchscreen.
But the lockscreen would be of use if I often had a risk of something pushing the power button in my pocket...
That may be true, but I find the power button very inconvenient to use and when I need to take a quick look at the watch or missed calls without messing the screen a screenlocker is the best solution.

Alright so im no developer, so this is why im offering this idea up.
Personally, im starting to hate Android...Im having some serious webOS envy. I know I know, just switch, or blah blah blah. I love the whole gesture based UI. So I was wondering..on the Inc the capacitive touch layer of the screen extends down to right around the bottom of the home-menu-back-search keys. (You can see by downloading some multi-touch tester and dragging your finger down there, it will read that your Y-Position is something like 820 or something.) So right above the trackpad in the middle of the soft keys is a blank spot. Would it be possible for you to change that so there is some sort of invisible soft button, that when you swipe up or tap it launches a user specific app? I would probably put some sort of app-switcher there, or well I dont actually know. But if this is possible, it would be really freaking awesome imho. Thoughts?
have you tried using adw or launcherpro...they have gesture ui, and you can change them also...ie, cm6. sense doesn't that I know of.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Cm6 has lockscreen gestures. Haven't looked into them myself but may be a place to look...
I know those launchers have gestures but what I mean is a new soft key in the middle if the menu and back key

I remember on stock 2.1 this invisible button did something in certain apps, I can't remember what it was though.
i see what youre saying and i think itd be pretty sweet. just to have another soft button to launch messaging or something. i'd love this in a rom

Why not remap the trackpad?
I understand maybe a invisible button could be cool, but its useless. So is the track pad, but the trackpad can be remapped
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Well what if u made it to where swypeing left or right or down or up on the optical joystick opened apps of your choice while on the homescreen... or is that what were already talking about?
Well the track pad is not use less. I use it on a normal basis. Maybe for you having an invisible button would be use less but for me it would not. To each their own.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
No that's not what I was thinking of, rather the area above the track pad. That's a good half inch Of wasted space.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Oh I see, yea that is a good idea, yea I'd like to see that
The question is, what applications would you match to that area?

lolz for that.
hey guys i found this fooling around on the market thought you might like it:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free&feature=search_result
works on any android device pretty much!
Ehhh, not really a fan of having ads on my lock screen. Won't buy it until I can see that the dev will support it.
Would love to have the honeycomb lock screen, but I'm willing to wait for it to be baked in once google lets the source go.

Good lookin out! I've been wanting this forever! Freakin sweet as an apk. The ads kinda suck but its super clean.

Works really well. Ads suck tho lol
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Sounds cool. For those that use Adfree, does it remove the ads? LOL
banging on fools from my HTC Troll
agreed with the ads sucking lol
havent tried ads free it may work
Also curious if anyone will notice any negative effect on battery life.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2
Adfree works with this, though you'll have to reboot after turning it on. Other than that, works great with CM7 nightly 95 with the stock lockscreen disabled. No noticable battery issues yet either.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
yup with no ads on and disabled lockscreen and after a couple of days i can say it does no drain battery and its working great!
I really like the unlock screen I can say adfree does 100% work on removing the adds. I have found that you have to put it on the ignore list with task killers otherwise when u use the task killer it turns that lockscreen off. It was working great for a day or so but now both stock lock screen and new lock screen come up so I have to unlock it twice, does anyone know how to remedy this? I would like this intergraded into the rom or a zip file you could flash, could someone do that? I'm running cm nightly 99

Go into the tablet tweaks section of the cm settings menu and turn off the lockscreen. That'll fix your double lockscreen problem.
The added bonus with that fix is that you'll have full access to the notifications pulldown before you unlock your device. Really useful for checking messages and using the lockscreen toggles.

my words exactly i love using the pull down bar without having to unlock!!!
If you want to get rid of the ads, download adfree from the market and hey presto no more ads

I bought it to support the dev, more people that buy it the more inclined he is to keep supporting it.

Try magiclocker on market its free
Or widgelocker on market ,i use this one works well .
https://market.android.com/details?id=mobi.lockscreen.magiclocker
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker
Hope that helps
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
I use Widget Locker and it's quite good, there are a lot of themes available and it works good in almost all the case. I found only a little glitch, when you put the phone in airplane mode you have to unlock two times cause the stock lockscreen appears after you unlock with widget locker. The previous sentence is a mess lol.
Hey I found his nice app for displaying missed called, email and text message notifications on the lock screen somewhat like the iphone. It's setup as a live wall paper to show notifications in the background, that way you don't need to change our your original lockscreen.

I had major lag with this. Might need a 4.2 update before it runs right. Great app tho.

Same here. Too much lag to use.
Trying to figure out how to make the widget show on the main screen (under the clock) like in your image. Can't see a setting that does it... anyone else figure that out?

That's a screenshot of WidgetLocker, not the stock lockscreen.
Why does Google do such weird things all the time? I know other people have to think the same thing about why they design an OS the way they do. For instance clicking the clock in the status bar takes u to time settings instead of clock or calendar(when we all have auto time enabled)? And I'm pretty sure(at least I hope) its a bug, but the stupid new camera rotation is beyond dumb. And why they took the so much fun camera effects out, I may never know... I do love Google but just question their Dev team sometimes... sometimes a lot
But that is why we have these wonderful devs across the forums. I can't thank you guys/gals enough!!!!

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
The slow camera rotation is intentional. The Android Dev team spoke about it. As for camera effects, I don't know how many people actually used them. Sure, Mac users seem to use them quite a bit, but I don't know about Android users.

Yea I meant alarms.. Lol. Or even clock app would be smart
Why on EARTH would u want camera lag when changing the phone orientation... Then u end up missing Ur shot!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The rotation lag doesn't bug me too much. It usually takes a second or less to rotate. I usually know what orientation I want my picture to be, so I'll press the camera app in that orientation.

Just lock rotation when you want to use your camera, if you are using a rom with toggle rotation it wont be that hard to press a toggle.
I personally always disabled rotation, and only enabled it when i want to use it.

Another thing that bothers me is app drawer. the black background is still stuck in the Gingerbread era.
If I lock rotation to to a pic in landscape its going to take the picture in portrait but I guess u could just rotate it in the gallery... But still useless as fuhk. I'd rather deal with the lag of swiping to my pictures than the actual camera itself... Come one Google... You're better than this... Back to 4.1 camera I am

IMO the black background is nice to quickly identify icons. U know u can always use third party launchers to change that..
