add this in sysinit.rc under # create basic filesystem structure
mkdir /data/property 0700 root root
See if that helps. Goodluck!

to install this you have to adb it in the device

adb remount
adb shell
rm /system/app/Rosie.apk
then adb install Rosie.apk
and there we go
MAJOR BUG force closes when you swipe the home screens only way around is too zoom out and select a home screen
ALSO YOU WILL NEED TO BE ON A HERO 2.1 BUILD AND YOU DON'T NEED THE OTHER LIB FILES AT LEAST NOT FOR THE MOMENT
Have fun

Guess you will need Some version of Android 2.X and then the only option, since this i Sense, you will need the Hero21 Community ROM from Lox and Behnaam.

Your probably one some other rom than 2.1 right? This will only work on the 2.1 rom as thats what it's made for.
Your going to need all the libraries and packages that the new rosie depends on for it to have a chance of working.
tried this with 2.1 rom and nope cant get anything to work , just get errors when i try
guess we need all the libraries etc. need it in a rom , need some one like MoDaCo or lox to get this into a ROM

yeah sorry, i was being forgetful. i've been flicking between roms all day and forgot I'd loaded up MCR3.0 earlier. just went back to Lox/Benhaams and it installed fine. the menu seems SO cluttered now with the big icons but i do kinda like the new Launcher
You could try:
Code:
adb remount
adb push Rosie.apk /system/app/
adb reboot

Tried this on the Lox/Benhaam ROMs, just keeps force closing Sense after a couple of minutes. Nice to have a quick look at it but not useable in it's current state.
Also, noticed that Sense sometimes reverts back to the original after a Power Off / ON.
If you can make a ROM with it already pre-loaded and working, I would be very interested. I think I must be in the minority, I really like the new Rosie

It says in the OP that it FCs when swiping the screens in sense. If you pinch and select the screen you want to go to, you should avoid the FCs.
I used it for half an hour yesterday and it worked ok, but I am not sure I like the icon "bubbles". But the launcher is very good.
Hoping for an early release from HTC in 2010.

Just search for dexopt-wrapper here or on the internet.
A word of warning is that YMMV. I've had no luck with it on 2.1 ROMs so if you get it working, let me know (I had logcat errors and system crashed)

[DEV] UK Stock System Dump - Build ITL41D

Going to preface this with the fact that I'm relatively new to the dev scene. I'm still learning, but we all learn by doing right?
This dump is taken from my rooted UK retail O2 Galaxy Nexus. Rooted using adb method (not superboot method) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352004
Not entirely positive these are done perfectly (especially the .zip) but I think that may creatable from my dd image anyways. I'd appreciate someone with dev experience looking over these and okaying them, and maybe regular users staying away from trying to do anything with these until someone more experienced says they're alright?
I just figured that seeing I uploaded these for 2 people I may as well make them publically available for all.
I'm also including the steps I took inside code tags for anyone to point out any mistakes I may have made.
DD Image as requested by Maximilian Mary:
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/by-name/system of=/sdcard/galaxynexussystem.img
Available here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KXFYSMT2 or http://multiupload.com/CPP4L2553Y
Zip file as originally requested by Revolution
I followed http://www.robmcghee.com/android/creating-an-android-update-zip-package/ - Thinking back I realise I probably didn't need to sign it, whoops
Code:
## Create folders dump, dump/system, dump/META-INF/com/google/android
cd dump
adb pull /system system
## Edited /META-INF/com/google/android/update-script with:
## show_progress 0.1 0
##
## copy_dir PACKAGE:system SYSTEM:
## set_perm_recursive 0 0 0755 0644 SYSTEM:app
## show_progress 0.1 10
##
## Zip system and META-INF folders into gnsys.zip
## Signed using testsign.jar
Available here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KXFYSMT2 or http://www.filesonic.com/file/3935308085/gnsys-signed.zip
If anyone spots anything wrong with either my commands or my files, please reply with what I did wrong so I can learn from that, thanks.

When trying to mount, I get an error insmod: init_module '/system/lib/module/cifs.ko' failed (Exec format error)
I suppose it is not working on stock kernel?
EDIT: sorry, I realized the date of thread now, these probably won't work on ICS
Sorry, where shall I copy cifs.ko and slow-work.ko?
I don't have /system/lib/module but only /system/lib/modules/3.0.8+
Edit: I have copied cifs.ko and slow-work.ko to /system/lib/modules

group root: R-X

[Q] Cannot create 'theme' folder on internal database - MIUI GB 3.2

Hello everybody,
I have been looking on this forum and on google, but haven't been able to sort my problem out!
Im using MIUI GB 3.2 of henry_01 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515120 ) and I want to create a 'theme' folder into /data/system/ but root explorer tells me everytime that the operation fails....
I have the root access granted by Superuser, so I don't know what am I doing wrong?? I extended internal storage to 1GB with my SD card using INT2EXT4, could it be the problem?
Hope have been clear enough, anyone has an idea??
Cheers

I was trying to port MIUI GB myself and I encountered this problem. I asked the LG P500 dev and he said you need a file defaulttheme in your init.d folder. I'll post it here soon.

Place this file in your init.d folder.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2g1mcgfe8f8jbal/06defaulttheme?m
Edit the "06" according to the number of scripts in that folder.
Eg: you have 5 scripts in init.d - They should be 01,02,03,04,05,etc. Then name this one 06defaulttheme and place it.
Thanks for your reply,
It didn't work so far! I have 7 scripts from 0 to 5, then one '20userinit' and one '40int2ext'
So I tried naming your file with the number 06 then 41, then both (rebooting everytimes between each try)
So I found a way to create a folder theme by renaming the 'dropbox' folder that got recreated at the following reboot. I placed .mtz theme in it but still nothing appears in the 'Theme chooser' app!
Maybe this rom cannot be themed?? or... I don't know! Im lost

They worked on mine long ago... Although the themes were in a folder MIUI/Theme on my sdcard. That folder was made when I boot into the ROM for the first time.

[Easy Tool] For developers and rom cokers

Hi, here is tool for making flashable zip in few commands! No need root! In few commands your rom is ready for sharing or flashing with CMW ! You can dump any rom! NOTE: all your rom changes which is in your phone will be included in rom.zip (for example busybox, su...etc)! Tool will be usefull for dumping next Sony stock rom, but allso all rom is supported! Enjoy!
For no rooted devices:
adb push romgen /data/local/tmp/
adb shell
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 755 romgen
Code:
./romgen C6903 honami /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/byname/userdata /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/cache [COLOR="Red"]/dev/null[/COLOR] /storage/removable/sdcard1/rom.zip
/dev/null must be used as a boot partition since no rooted devices have no access to these device!
For rooted devices:
adb push romgen /data/local/tmp/
adb shell
su
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 755 romgen
Code:
./romgen C6903 honami /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/byname/userdata /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/cache [COLOR="Red"]/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot[/COLOR] /storage/removable/sdcard1/rom.zip

Yesterday I noticed bug There is bug when folder is empty or when symlink is inside folder but there no other files! So when tool generate zip these folder is missing in zip but updater-script have line "set perm to folder" which not exist, so installation aborting because a missing folder Will try to solve them soon! Do not flash generated zip since you will get boot loop (you can only if you add missing folders to zip)! I will make new version soon, hope clean!
New version is out! Hope all bugs solved! Bug is solved by creating empty file .placeholder to all existing folders so zip for sure now have all mised folders, than placeholders is auto removed at finish of the installation
I am hope eerything is right now, but I will test and let you know if generated zip is installable with sucess!
New working version finaly, sorry! Now I tested tool and found another 2 bugs, first one was "zip fail to store file which contain special characters like *()...etc", and seccond one was wrong format of the permssions in updater-scrip. Now all things is solved, I have tested tool, tried to install generated zip, installed zip, and bum. Everything is ok now, enjoy!

Yeah...I'm using Tapatalk so can't see...but, as I said, I know who you are and we will be very happy if you join Z1 development
It should be out (most likely) in a first few days on april (let just hope it won't be first April and we.won't be April's fools )
Some of Z2 apk files are already out and if that guy who already post few things managed to post Z2 system dump - we could have something even earlier

I have managed to recompile/compile them by now, but boot loop on colorizable things since my modificaions on framework / framework-res is not complete .

@munjeni bro, you can try out the Advanced APKtool by @BDFreak bro for the framework-res issues. It's compatible with z1 Compact.

@munjeni, nice tool, but I need help. I get this error in CWM log every time I try to install my zip; "l:Can't partition non mmcblk device: /devices/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host
What do I need to do to the updater script? I tried replacing the mount system bit with;
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/system");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
but I had no luck.
Probably you pased bad command to the romgen since you say /devices/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host !!! Double check first post before you going to generate zip! Or probably you using an bad cwm which have bad fstab! If no of these 2 simptoms is true than for sure you have modified updater-script by your own way which probably is not ok! Hope this help.
