Hi guys,
(Not sure if this post is in the right place, sorry if it's not )
Ok, since yesterday when I make a call, the call screen has changed. I have not (knowingly) changed any settings.
Normally I get the droid icon with mute & speaker option with the keyboard & contacts option below. I can also see the name of the contact but now, the 'Add call' & 'Hold' buttons (which don't respond), cover the name of the contact.
Now I cannot call up the keyboard, I have 'Add call', 'Hold', 'Mute' & 'Speaker', below in a bar 'Arrow left', 'People', 'Keyboard' & 'End call'.
When I select the keyboard, it doesnt appear, just the '|←' symbo which slides up above the bar containg the 'Keyboard' option...when I press it nothing happens.
The bar containg 'Arrow left', 'People', 'Keyboard' & 'End call' partiall cover the 'Mute' & 'Speaker' options!
This is very frustrating as I cannot call the gas company, phone compane etc etc as they all have menus which require touchtone!
Please help!
Thanks in advance
See if taking out the battery for about 5 seconds will fix it.
Thanks, that sorted the issue out.
Any ideas as to how it occurred?
Well it seems that it is some kind of bug in the software.
You are not the first to post such a problem, but the good thing is that it can be easily solved and not occuring frequently.
Ok, thats good to know.
Thanks for the reply & solution

Hey all,
Im a long time user of the forums but havent posted anything yet. Anyway, ive been seeing this issue on some other forums and after massive searching cant find a fix.
I just got the official upgrade to WM6.1 on my sprint HTC Touch. PRIOR to 6.1 the "main" today screen showed a missed calls link (icon is a phone with a "!"), which by default listed an entire call history - missed calls, received calls, and outgoing calls. AFTER upgrading to 6.1 the same button now only lists missed calls. there is a menu button which contains a filter, and the ability to switch to "all calls". the only problem is, this filter doesnt stick. after closing it and reopening it reverts back to only showing missed calls. This is a huge pain in my arse as I used that button almost every time i use my phone. (redials, sending texts, getting numbers, etc)
As far as my options on alternatives goes, this is what I know:
1. I know you can open the "phone" dial screen and access a full call history. (this is ok, but I really want a quick one touch access!)
2. I found the callhistory.exe floating around on here, got it set up in my programs and mapped it to the camera softkey. (also a pain because I had all my soft keys mapped to other things, and i tend to hold my phone in my right hand making it annoying to hit)
I would really LOVE to know if there is a way to get that "missed calls" key on the today screen to show the entire call history like it used to do!!!!! (or at least add/change another button on the main today screen to access call history)
I may just be screwed, but if anyone can figure it out I know xda-devs can. Any help would be appreciated.
p.s. If other people are seeing this thread and are in the same spot, and want to know how to set up callhistory.exe to map to a softkey let me know, and ill post those details on that temporary alternative.

I have the same problem on my Xperia. Does anyone have a solution?
Why dont you try this little app, dont remember where i got it from but very handy. It creates a short cut for your call history in the Programs section.Hope this helps.
has anyone come up with solution for this annoying bug that filter selection in Call History from Today screen does not stick and defaults to Missed Calls only?
I don't have a dialer on my TP2 ! is that possible ?
also - no call-in-progress screen, only the white slide-to-answer screen when a call comes in, but when I answer the call the screen goes back to the last app. I used.
any solutions ?
When you go to the "Home" screen in touch-flo, there is a little "Phone" text on left-hand side, and "Camera" text on right-hand side. If you press on phone with stylus/finger, you will get a dialer there ...
This appears to be the 2nd thread started by you on the same question.

Plus it looks like from your previous posts in this forum that you've messed up your device pretty bad. Your zoom bar doesn't work and now you've messed up the phone app.
Here's my advice: don't start duplicate threads like this. Start your thread if you've really exhausted other options (ie, search, etc). If no one responds to your thread, just post in it to bump it to the top again.
Also, regarding your device, stop installing stuff if you're not aware of all its features and if you're not comfortable doing troubleshooting. Like people in your other thread regarding the zoom bar said, just do a hard reset.
you're right, sorry.
BTW- give me some credit - i tried the "phone" button & "phone" option in Settings>personal>phone. still doesn't work.
Hi all,
I've been searching a few hours here, i have not found any working solution for the following problems (occuring since i got a new PDA - Asus P750 running WM6.1) I was using before a P525 with WM5, and so i lost many things :
- how to get back the "Call history" button instead of "Dial" ? I want to get the full call history, and not mixed with the contacts
- how to set by default the numeric pad ? Anytime i press a number on the button, it displays letters instead, like if i had to type a SMS from it
- How to restore the long press on the "#1" to launch the voicemail ? Now it launches the smartdial stupid thing
- Why does a bluetooth headset get inactive when i accept calls by pressing the PDA button instead of the headset one ? I have to do this, otherwise i have no sound on the bluetooth headset
This new way on WM6.1 to use the phone looks a bit strange to me ...
Thank you.
Sounds like your issues are unique to your device/ROM I do not have any of the issues you have described. Perhaps someone who uses your type of device may know better.
it all depends on the dialer you are using. Have you looked at using a PhoneCanvas dialer such as MBO PhoneCanvas?
Thanks, i'll have a look.
By the way, i have another question : before with WM5, i could switch to different profils (sound tone, vibrator, total silence) by using the buttons on the side of the phone. It is not possible anymore. Instead, it selects things on the today page.
Did it disappear with WM6 or do you thing it is only with the Asus P750 ?
Thanks.

In the settings menu, select buttons and see if you have an option for the up/down button on the side of the phone. On my 6.1 Touch Pro2, there isn't this option for that button. So if its there, it probably wasn't from the stock rom.

They don't exist :\ Only one button to customize (for launching applications)
Thanks.
Any clue to set by default the numeric pad ? There's probably one tweak in the registry.
Standard (edit: standard HTC desire) Froyo, answered a call while browsing the market, and suddenly had a very strange call screen.
It had 4 buttons (add call, pause call, in addition to normal mute and speaker) instead of the normal 2, and the lower bar a smaller end call button plus some extra ones!
Its back to normal after a restart...
Whats going on?

Thank you!
But those are not the sense screens (they are standard android) and not what I saw. Appreciate your help, must be difficult to imagine what I am trying to say just from a description. WIsh i had taken a foto....
PS have edited my original post to reflect its HTC froyo; my mistake!
was it like in this thread but obviously not skewed to one side
no link in your message....

doh
THATS THE ONE!
But mine had the contact card, and the "numbers" button on the bottom row (Since i was on a call) and a little end call button!
so strange......
BUT thanks for solving the mystery somewhat, at least I know im not going mad!
I dont get them buttons on mine but can get buttons that do the same thing by pressing menu during the call. Maybe there is some sort of shortcut to enable them? I would be interested to know if there is as well.
Its probably a hidden screen in the system that was never used, but somehow gets called up.
THis is how it happened to me, so try it, maybe its a reproducible bug. Browse the market, and get someone to call you, then answer....
How do you use the phone pad after making a call? I dial a number and then need to input a password but can't get back to the key pad?
Thanks..
Which ROM are you on? I am currently able to do so with AOKP and was able to do so on Evervolv Preview 7.
EDIT: I misread your post. When the call is active, press the icon with a 3x3 grid of squares and one square below the grid. Picture is worth a thousand words:
http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/10-18-2011-7-53-15-PM1.png
Very bottom left icon in that screenshot.
Thanks, but I don't see any thing in your png file.
I have tried both Evervolv Preview 7 and aokp_inc_build-23
I see accross the top
a phone, call log , and contacts
across the bottom
search, phone, delete key
when I enter a number and dial I see
a back key and speaker.
That is curious.. I have the exact screen you see in Android Central's screenshot on both ROMs (just updated to build 23 this afternoon, it still works). I'm not sure why it's not working for you...
Is there a setting that I could be missing?
I looked all over in the phone app and didn't see anything there at all; even tried using "Menu" whilst in call, that didn't do anything at all.
