I wondering if any one has used any good email clients. The one on the stock android is good for personal use but falls really short for work purpose.

Good question, I am looking for the same thing because I use Road Runner. And man, t-Mobile jacked my phone up. They set up a filter and all my emails where sent to my phone as a text message. Now I can not find out how to fix it because sometimes my email works and sometimes it doesnt and I think that the filter is screwing everything up. I called them and they said that they deleted the filter, however it still sends my messages via text.
Super Annoying!!!
I saw some one mentioned k-9 Mail, its much better than the
One that comes with the phone. If there is one btter than that then please suggest.

How about Touchdown by Nitrodesk? I've been using it for a couple of years now and I like it.

In what way do you feel the stock app falls short for work? I use it for work everyday and it does everything I need it too. What features are you looking for in an email app that the stock one doesn't have?
Just curious, that's all.....
Well for one it does not foward attachments and also u can't clear the trash folder.

Odd. I forward mail containing attachments from my work account to my personal account all the time, and they forward just fine. And you can clear the trash folder. Select the account you want, hit menu, folders, trash and then select the messages you want deleted, and hit delete. Done.
I realize it might not be as convenient as some may want, but it does work.
One thing I've noticed with the stock gmail app is that you can't save attachements...unless I'm missing something but when I email a xls spreadsheet to myself it gives me a option to preview it but no save.
im using touchdown for now.
I need to be able to search email and the stock client does not allow for that
I've been using Seven (which is free) on WM for years. It's not nearly as polished on Android, but it's decent. I'm looking for alternatives and will give Touchdown a try.
What email apps are Nexus 7 owners using?
I cannot figure out how to get Nexus to auto-complete email addresses in the stock email app for either gmail or a non-gmail account. is this justmissing or do I need to turn something on?
Any alternatives?
I use mail droid. It has a free and a paid option. Best ive tried so far.

AquaMail Pro. I must have tried them all, but this one is the nicest in my opinion!

Do any of these do IMAP search on server?
I use Gmail, it auto-completes anything I have in contacts. I use to hate gmail on a mobile device, but I like it on the N7 better than K9, which I was using.
I use K9 on my Nexus 7, not perfect by any means, but, far better than the stock email client. I had problems with attachments using the stock email client.
With K9, I can open, save, view attachments etc., which is what I wanted.
Still searching for a better one ...............
Gmail has everything I need.
Yeah, I'm thinking of adding K9, it actually attaches and opens zip files as well as anything else you want to throw at it. Gmail sucks with attachments.

I've been using K9 for the last...three?... years now and I just love it... in my opinion the best one out there. I'm managing six IMAP accounts with it and it works just flawlessly... fast, reliable, I love it... :good:

Just tried k9 on my n7 and works great. Much more configurable than gmail. Just needs an on screen send button and it'd be perfect.
Edit: Found great app for a home screen shortcut to compose new mail, works with k9 or gmail.

AW: Email Apps
I recently tried Aquamail and it was not bad... I still like K9 better, but Aquamail is rather great too...

Voice Announce?
Does anyone know of an email client or add-on that would speak at least the subject of the arriving imap mail?

I liked maildroid but kept crashing when using reply to all. Really wish there was a powerful outlook like application that supported exchange and hotmail/gmail etc.

I use stock gmail for my gmail and nitrodesk touchdown for exchange. I don't have a problem running 2 different apps for 2 different accounts.
Enhanced e-mail is an app that is close to the standard email app in Android 4.2.1. It has more options.
I use it because this app has an option to synchronize the trash.
Emptying the thrash by selecting messages one by one is no longer needed.

I used stock email app.
I love the HTC and iPhone email client, even the stock is is better but Samsung definitely sucks, do you guys know of any? Please don't say k9 the app ui is horrible it feels weird for some reason

I use maildroid. I works really well for me. I would still prefer the iPhone's mail app if I could choose because of better mail search, but maildroid is not bad at all.
Then go buy an htc.

He has a valid point. The TW email app flat sucks. He needs to switch to CM10 or AOKP because the aosp email app is so much better. He can also use root explorer and delete the TW email app and add the one from CM10. This is what I do when running a TW rom.

I've been using K-9 mail. Used to work great but in the last 6 months or so it keeps reposting deleted emails, over and over.

I personally use Touchdown for my email and the stock for my calendar and contacts. Touchdowns great, as it can sync all of my folders and not just my inbox. It's also got a unified inbox experience for all the folders.
It's a little pricey and I probably wouldn't buy it today, but I got it back at G1 launch when there aren't any other options.

So, is there any way we can install the HTC mail app on our Galaxy Nexus ? I love that mail client and i would use it on my nexus also.
I guess it requires htc sense framework, so most probably no.
If this is not possible, what is the best mail client ? The default one is horrible
K9 was a really popular one last time I needed an alternative to stock

Mail clients on Android are pretty terrible. You've either got the choice of equally bad open source clients like K-9, or ad-ridden clients like Aqua Mail or Maildroid that require a payment to get the pro version.
I stick to the default mail client because it works fine for me despite being kinda crappy.
Everything is crap. Only the HTC one was ok for me... Isnt there any way to port it ?

if you port the framework for sense, yes. otherwise i would guess no
What's wrong with the nexus default? I use both accounts and constantly get mail almost every minute on of them. Gmail is the one pissed about, its slow and unreliable most times.

The HTC one has some excellent features which you just don't get on the defaut client, like the ability to see all emails from all folders and all accounts in one pot.. That would be the main selling point for me!, is there a paid for client that can do that?

I have been using Touchdown to access my official mails (exchange server). Feature wise I think this is the best mail client on android but UI can be better.

Thanks Zepius but this doesn't let you view all emails from all selected folders, it only combines the inboxes from two or more accounts.

Hi everyone! I am currently looking for a massaging app that is Internet based. I have it narrowed down to three. Whatsapp, Hangouts, and BBM. I would like everyone's opinion on those and which is the better choice. Thanks in advance!
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Having not used any of those apps, I can't really offer any opinions of them. Personally, I think the best way to go is Google Voice with CM Team's Voice+, that way everything is handled through the stock messaging app. Ultimately though, it just comes down to personal preference. Use each one you're considering for a day, then decide which most suits your needs.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Good advice, I'll do that. Thanks!

I just started using hangouts and I love it!
Sent from my LG-LS970
really just depends on what the other people in your life use. I personally just SMS and use hangouts because most the people I know are on google accounts. ive heard whatsapp is awesome just nobody else I know uses it so its pointless for me. its like trying to get people to use Google+ instead of Facebook, cant get anyone to switch
