When I flashed the newest LeeDroid ROM, I noticed that i got a green unread notification bubble on my Twitter notifications. This goes, as far as I can see, only for Twitter, not Gmail or sms.
I didn't have this on either Stock ROM or Modaco R9.
Could anyone please help me remove this?
Correction: This happens to SMS and other notifications as well

Hello all,
First I want to say thanks to all the developers and everyone who works so hard to make great stuff!
My question is regarding GMail: I use SkyRaider 3.0 RC2 Vanilla, Launcher Pro Plus, King's #3, OC to 1.13, s-off. I decided to enable the Priority Inbox Beta in my GMail account. I receive quite a bit of emails each day, so it did it's thing by filtering out the good and bad. When I receive a couple emails from people who are people I regularly get emails from, they appear in my Priority Inbox.
My phone's GMail icon will display 2 for 2 unread messages, but when I click on it only one unread shows up. I delete it, so now the unread out is at 1, but nothing is there. I cannot get it to clear unless I go to a computer to log in and get rid of it. I confirmed that both emails are in the same inbox.
Is that normal? I was able to get it corrected by disabling the Priority Inbox, and then clearing the GMail data/cache. Back to normal. Batt pulls, cycling power, nothing would clear the unread count. I understand that this feature is in its Beta phase, and what I am seeing is normal? Any comments?
The same thing has been happening the past few days for me. However I haven't enabled the Priority Inbox feature, and I'm on the 8/1 2.2 leak. I don't think its due to Priority Inbox, but rather a bug with the Gmail app. Just my two cents.
You have to go online in your browser and click on the unread email. I don't know why it's like that but that is how I have been dealing with the issue. If you open your phone's browser and log into gmail you will see the email it is reading and open it or delete it and it will zero out. Prior to rooting I had this issue as well, but could go to the "all mail" label and find what it was seeing, now even when I open it on my phone, it still shows unread sometimes.
I'd like to chime in and say I too noticed this problem today. It showed I had 5 unread messages. When I look in the inbox on my phone they were all read. However going to gmail on my computer showed the unread messages. Its as if the 'read' flag isn't being updated.
Running stock Android. After I read emails on my desktop, the notification bar on my phone still shows unread Gmails, I cleared the cache last night, only syncing Inbox and and I unchecked the notify once box. Any thought appreciated.
Hey, I just tested there on mine and it didn't do it. Once I read the email on my desktop after approx 1 min it cleared the notification on my Nexus. That's a strange one.
Are your settings the same? Are you running stock android?
No actually I am not! But I do recall when I fisrt had my Nexus and it was the same. I am obsessive about things like that so I remember checking it and it was the very same. It is a pity you can't change the rate at which gmail syncs.
Figured it out
I had an old email marked as unread. Once I marked that as read, the notification bar acts as expected - reading emails on my desktop clears the notification bar.
To confirm, I marked an old email as unread and read a new incoming email on my desktop. The notification bar still shows unread emails. Clearing the old unread email on the desktop clears the notification bar.
Hi everybody,
I'm trying to take away the notification bar form my android and with nove lancher I can do that (not exactly as I want but anyway is ok).
Despite this the notification that are in that bar are usefull (mail, facebook chat message, missed call and so on) and it's 3 days that I'm looking for a widget to replace it inside the homescreen.
I found MissedIT but sadly it works only in the lockscreen (I'm needing something like that for the homescreen)
I then installed BlingBoard that's amazing (it solved mail, missed call, unread sms, facebook and twitter msg) BUT it doesn't log the facebook chat.
I then tried GOsms with Facebook plugin but well, I still didn't check it well but it doesn't pop up push notification and so on (not sure if it's rom related, launcher related or just that is facebook chat related, still didn't try sms) so for now I'm not satisfied about it.
So what I was wondering if there is a widget or a counter or something that will tell me in the homescreen IF I have an unread message over facebook chat??
I am currently getting one notification for every new email. I would rather get one notification every time email is checked and there are new messages. I cannot find any such settings, is it possible? I am running CM9 with android 4.04 by the way.
are you talking about Gmail or the regular email/email exchange?
to fix that in Gmail there is a setting you have to select where you only get one notification for all email instead of a notification for every new email
I've got my Xperia S running ICS 4.0.4.Since I first got it, I haven't been able to get Facebook notifications on my lockscreen. SMS and email work just dandy, though. Calendar, too. And missed call. Everything except for Facebook. When I had my Xperia Arc running GB, the Facebook notifications were so reliable. Part of the reason why I got the S was because I was excited for having the Facebook notifications on my lockscreen again, but it doesn't work. Any idea of what I need to do to fix it, or what might be wrong?
Facebook is checked in the lockscreen notifications part of display. And Facebook notifcations are set to active in the Facebook application. I've done a settings restore, and I've cleared data in the Facebook app. Still nothing.
We only have notifications of Calendar, Email, Miss Call and the last one, Message. Let check it out by yourself in settings/display/lockscreen settings
