[Q] How to change Model? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

Most nbh's i find, are usually vogue-xpt-yzh.nbh.
Now, we use atools to set device to kaiser, android version to eclair/donut, resolution, and other settings.
Yet, on the settings, i still get : " Full Android on Vogue "
I know this is just to show off, but can we edit this ??

i really don't know... i've yet to try and open a nbh with a hex. KAISER... 6 letters, 6 bytes... VOGUE... 5 letters... 5 bytes...

Fortunately for all of us, it is not nearly as complex as you are imagining. It is actually very simply. It is in the properties of the build and it is just a string you need to modify in clear text you can use an androidupdate.tar for that. It's just a cosmetic thing that I was obsessed with and needed to change. I can provide you with an androidupdate for that if you all need me to, just PM me.

I couldn't do anything with my device now, and soft-reset doesn't help. Perhaps another build helps, but I like my current ROM. Any solutions to this?

For those who were using PDAVIET 2G, a solution has been posted by elivne at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400388

I believe this should fix it. use a hex editor to edit shell32.exe's S000. search for 0000004AB2FFFFEB, change it to 0000004A0000A0E1.
@trashcan: how am I to do the editing? Will it work even though my unit is not connected with activesync?
to update to a new rom, even if you can't connect with activesync, press the power + left ok buttons and press reset until a 4 color screen appears. then you should be able to update to any image using RUUWrapper.exe
@destro: thanks alot. it worked
me too.. yesterday get lock..

GSM Android [05/1] 2.1 BUILD WITH SENSE UI FOR VGA RAPH100/FUZE

Please read this originall thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=627997
This is not my work! I just change some files, to be able to run this Android on VGA devices. (I testet it just with RAPH100)
Screenshots:
Coming soon
Download:
Rapidshare
If you use HTC Fuze download FUZE Startup rename it to "startup" and copy it to andboot folder.
For Updating this Android u should use an application called MJGDroidUtil in ANDBOOT folder.
Click on/Open MJGDroidUtil -> Click Menu -> Update -> check the checkboxes -> click Update
Further Development Cancelled but update tool will be working
Wifi working? and HTC Sense not to big like one the Klinux build?
Yeah WiFi works for me, and the sense is usuable
I think this is Klinux, just bootscreen says it
Well if this is Klinux build it's working out of the box for me on VGA
And we already have a thread here for Klinux builds

I have had Android running on my raphael100 with perfect sense in vga for some time now.
Did you miss that or have you put in something extra?
I have checked. There is absolutely no difference..
Looks like someone wasn't really paying attention the last couple of weeks
The linked thread actually mentions a lot of things aren't working that are working on the other builds.

thanks for your reply. but i still cant get this to work on my att fuze.
this is what im doing.
1) format card
2) extract downloaded file onto computer desktop
3) copy everything from the andboot file into root
4) replace the STARTUP.txt with ur startup_fuze from page1
5) put card into device
6) start up
I keep getting this loop at the boot screen of klinux:hTc
I can't go pass that!! ARGH!
The funny thing is that all these problems can be solved by reading to my thread and klinux's thread..
Indeed, I think it's better to just close this thread and not add to the confusion of the already growing number of android threads.
Ok guys

Could you perhaps clarify that for us?

@frank007hk brightness. I haven't got this problem. Just try to chane some settings. but if u turn off the auto brightness in WinMob, there will be something just in Android's settings
So Stop this thread. There is a lot of ports for android, u can try them

PSFreedom Android via Diamond?

Just wondering if anyone was working on getting this ported to our phones? Works on the Desire and few others via this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772795
They also have our phone on the wiki as showing in progress.
http://psfreedom.com/wiki/index.php?title=Device_compatibility_list
It's listed even two times! They have to make up their minds about the used usb controller though *fg*.
I wonder who is actually working on it? I have watched the thread all day.. I see its listed, but no proof of anyone actually working on it. I guess it just listed because of the usb controller it uses is compatible..
Anyone know what may be different between our diamonds and the HD2? They have it running on the HD2 now

After following the guide and getting android installed i get the following error trying to insert the module "insmod: can't insert 'psfreedom.ko': invalid module format".
im using the newest xdandroid i could find here on a diamond100
actually dmesg returns "psfreedom: version magic '2.6.27.46-01162-g741ab49-dirty preempt mod_unload ARMv6 ' should be '2.6.27.46-01130-g0ac6681 preempt mod_unload ARMv6'"
nevermind... apparently i missed an important step
OK
I tested on my Diamond.
It's ok for me.
Now I'm tested the fixed version with backupmanager.
I'll update soon.
NB
The first boot is very slooooooow.
I have install and run Psfreedom on my old Diamond GSM.
I dont have PS3 right now.
But it looks like working cos.... when I type "insmod psfreedom.ko" and press enter I have next line "#" no any errors and messages.
And at that moment my PC recognize "Unknow USB device". So I think that something is emulating on my Diamond.
One more thing!
When I copy file "modules-2.6.27.46-01162-g741ab49-dirty.tar" to SD
I have renamed it to "modules-2.6.27.46-01162-g741ab49.tar" and replace existed old one.
I have XDAndroid 2.2 (rel 1.6) no any updates.

[Q] Android ROM for Raphael!

Will it be possible to make any true standalone Android ROM without using windows?
And for what device are this settings "RAPH800"?
Currently, no, but there is workaround - a light ROM with dualboot or directly HaRET in autorun.

In the next days i will look into dzo's script and adopt our kernel + ramadresses to get a full working nbh so that i can flash it onto my device. Hope everything goes well. This will take some serious concentration. This is what I am going to do:
Compile the kernel from scratch
Strip-out nb.os + nb.payload.os from vogue / kaiser / polaris to see what's going on
Recompile a new test-nbh to NAND-FLASH it as bootloader for Android
And last but not least: Adopt NoMoRootFS
I hope I and my device won't get stuck with this (I only have 1 device to test). If you wanna share your thoughts or contribute this then just answer to this discussion and share your ideas. I will keep you updated on this and in my free time I will also try to update the various Android builds. But I can't promise you to do so.

Keep in mind that currently us TP user's DON'T have working camera (working on), and faster power drain (working on.) so if you end up using this rom (when it's done and released in time) you will have a phone that drain's faster then WM (meter usage is PRETTY accurate though itself.), and no camera anymore (until they finish adding support, and THEN add to this guy's kernal for the said ROM.), just so you know this
Currently, dual booting works just fine, and haven't experienced any negative's to date since using it this way. Hope that helps.
Ok. Tnx for the answers.
But can someone explain to me why it is so difficult to make working ROM for TP when the HTC Hero have the same hardware and powered up with Android? I am confused about that.
For what phone are startup settings (RAPH800)?
How much it will be faster with ROM flashed in nand memory than one run by heret in WM?
Tnx

Uhm the Hero comes with Android 'from the factory' - it's a native Android device. Just like WinMo is native to our devices...
The brilliant devs are literally trying to reverse engineer drivers so Linux/Android can run on our WinMo phones.
I forgot to answer your other questions... NAND should give some performance boost, but I don't know how much. Probably not much, it didn't do much for the RHOD - albeit a little.
Phone startup settings, you should have a STARTUPS folder and it should have the RAPH800 startup in there...
Edit: (removed post, question was already answered)
Cant wait for nand support , i loved it on my Kaiser
Theoretical question: Will installation to NAND and starting directly from bootloader affect performance positively?

In theory yes, but so far the benefits have been minor, if any. Of course the NAND that is functional for the TP2 isn't technically a full NAND, so it's probably not the best example to use.

Installing the cabs will surely not be enough for it to work, and I have to say lately all those peoples giving me middle fingers doesn't really encourage me into sharing the other missing part, but as I had really *enough* of all those peoples I'm sharing it anyway, this isn't for those peoples, but only to stop all those fools from asking me the same question again and again and then insulting me everyday.
To get Continuum to work properly after installing the packages you need to do the following:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Docking
create a new dword value called EnabledForTest
set it to 1,
reboot and enjoy it running on unsupported cpu types.
lets see how to manage this http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...7-miracast-t3496988/post69539385#post69539385
EDIT: managed.
By the way, to properly install the cabs you need to make sure it matches your current build, if not get back to the correct build or use the correct cab. Otherwise it may not work or break WU with deltas.

Gus, I'm not able to add this EnabledForTest value at this key path, it just won't write. I'm using Interpol Tools 1.8 and already restored NDTKSvc. What I am doing wrong?
Use custompfd.

You're absolutely right; this should written on any OP with the tweak that require old .cab deploying.
BTW, as far as I know, MS is not using "binary patching" method; all .cab contains full version of binaries and other files (provisioning etc.). I believe (I don't have enough knowledge) installer API on the phone is checking files(s) checksum.
Do you know the trick (maybe, some registry change) how to bypass that check?

Add it using the registry editor, not the browser... It fails because the browser isn't allowed to list. So use the editor. Also, try the newest versions, that version you're using is old.

which one is for lumia??or should i have to install both cabs??pretty confusing because @bikercat only gave*one cab which is almost 35mb
1 - Main cab : microsoft.ms_docking.mainos.cbs_debf5ea714636f4d4fb323e0fe30c14592f26589.cab
2 - Update cab : microsoft.ms_docking.mainos.cbsu_00d24dcb2decb8d15ecd6dd61493208136e86586.cab
And those actual cabs for last build on fast ring?
