In case some of you who have flashed to the euro firmware want to go back, the below is an early firmware for at&t and can be flashed via Odin.

No need of .pit file?
Is it just like putting it into "PDA" and flash?

I would like that as long as it was factory reset before the backup so it doesn't have any of your personal information.

It should be clean of any personal data; I had just rooted it via SuperOneClick and installed Busybox and then pulled the backup. I'll upload it to multiupload tomorrow and post the link.
EDIT: Looks like it does contain some stuff. If I ever have to restore it, I'll do a factory reset and pull a clean dump and post it. So for now, if anyone wants pieces of the original firmware, minus the data partition, let me know and I'll upload those pieces.

Did you ever get the rom? I would like to go back to ATT rom if I can. The one clubtech posted unfortunately did not work for me. I think it does need a pit file, but which one? I have no idea.
I repeat the rom posted here DID NOT work for me. Blank screen with the tab vibrating every 10 secs or so. I was fortunate enough to get it back into download mode to go back to jjk5.
Looking for a stock ATT rom thanks.
can we just ask AT&T to reflash our devices or do we need t send them to Samsung if we want original version again?

I believe if you tell AT&T you've flashed it with anything other than an officially released firmware, they'll tell you to pound sand, and that your warranty is void.

I do have the rotobackup that I pulled from my SGT prior to flashing to JJ4/JK5, but I didn't do a factory wipe before I pulled the files, and thus there is personal data in some of the files. I'd rather not distribute my Gmail login info, which I'm positive is stored in there since I accessed the Market.
You might be able to flash all of the files I have, minus the dbdata partition (maybe substitute the one from clubtech?) and maybe that would work? I'd defer to someone more knowledgeable though, like Roto. I'm not even sure the efs partition should be shared, as there's IMEI info in there.
Heres the stock AT&T firmware I put together from my Tabs original firmware. I'm going to flash this now to test it once more, In Odin, no pit file.

As expected, it worked, BUT:
It boots up blank, no splash screen.
Recovery is also blank, making it hard to navigate lol
Other than that, it works fine. Its good enough for return purposes or to grab files off and then flash back to JME.
Hmm, my guess than is the other one worked too then.
Any idea on why this boots up blank? Hopefully someone will grab this rom before flashing.
Not sure how you navigate a blank screen. Will give it a shot.
Thanks again.

Funny, I actually got a samsung splash screen, but nothing else! Nothing! Blank after that. Same as the one clubtech provided.

I've had issues trying to go back to stock AT&T after a full JMA flash, I ended up using all the files from my rotobackup minus the zImage because of the signed bootloaders...
So you got it to work? Could you post the files you used. Thanks
I believe the one from rotohammer are actually from my stock backup. (He hosted them for me) You can double check by checking topics I've posted, one of them is a stock AT&T dump I did.
Basically my configuration right now is JMA pbl sbl and kernel and the rest is AT&T stock. Flashing back the zImage from my backup didn't work if I'm remembering correctly.

Bear in mind that I do not have the time to restore to stock, and then check it for myself if you can extract the stock recovery without root, but you probably can. Please refer to the quote I will post below as I have little time to clean this post up.
Please thank user Davy Jones for actually finding the solution!

Okay, I don't know any coding so I apologize if this is a dumb suggestion, but is it possible to follow the article's directions to pull recovery? So from shell:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22 of=/sdcard/recovery.img bs=4096
I'm already on cwm so I have no way of testing this. Also, please don't try this unless you know what you are doing. I tried this on cwm and it created a file that was 10MB instead of the .img I originally flashed, which was 5.98MB.

My post starts here
-------------------------------------------
Alrighty that's wonderful. I am trying a guide right now and I will see if I am successful at extracting a recovery and I will report back.
EDIT
I've made wonderful process, and I've extracted a 10mb file which what the recovery.img supposed to be resized to.
So i've basically typed in
After this, I got a huge list of the partitions, and using this I've confirmed that mmcblk0p22 is the block that contains the recovery (I also made sure that I didn't extract something else, etc by checking what the userdata and sdcard size is supposed to be?
Then I typed in
and got
So I ended up with a 10MB file sitting in the root of my internal memory (known as sdcard)
Now I will try to confirm if it is the same file as my recovery.
EDIT
Well after more digging around.. I found this and where it says "Download - Recovery Image Method (using dd):" It shows that the block which the recovery is in in actually the same as the one above, so there was an easier way. Oh well! At least we confirmed that we have the correct file, the question is, can we flash it, guess I'll try after I get home.
If you want to try this out on a NON-Rooted one, you'll have to go to Settings>Developer Options>Root access and allow ADB.
-----------------------------------------------
Quote ends here.
Hopefully you're a Koodo owner reading this and have noticed the title.
Many of us Koodo owners, have rooted, installed a custom recovery, and have started the flashing frenzy, but we have forgot one thing.
No its not making a NAND of the stock ROM, its the fact the we forgot to backup our stock recoveries! I know it might not be a difference compared to the Telus recovery, but we still need to be sure, that when we want to update, or if we want to return the phone, what we are fully stock.
So what I'm asking you, is to make a backup of your Koodo stock recovery, and share it with us
Unfortunately I do not know how to extract a recovery.img. So hopefully an XDA member will post a guide in this to help us extract the .img
or as always, Google is your best friend
Cheers, and thanks

I could help, Ive got a Koodo S2 X. However, its not rooted, would i still be able to make a backup of my stock recovery.
Yes I believe it is still possible, just make sure Debugging mode is on and you are using the ADB method, and not the one that has the Android Terminal one. Thanks
My friend and my girlfriend both have Stock Koodo Phone... so i'm gonne try to bring the original Koodo Recovery.img. I read the articles from addictive tips... but i think i missed something, They said we need to root the phone but the first step in the method to root the phone is to install CWM recovery IMG via Odin... So it will overwrite Koodo original Recovery.img.... before i extract it...
Any clue or hint ???
Maybe another way to root via ADB ???

Sorry to be the bad news but I believe this recovery is the one that I've packaged before I though I've found the TLLG2 stock recovery from this site page 68( post by netusername and uploading it without testing it 1st.... then later installed/tested it and it was a CWM touch recovery and not the TLLG2 stock recovery, Sorry again.

KOODO STOCK IMAGE/RESTORE
Directions: Download these three in the same folder - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Use Winrar/7zip to only extract Part 1 after you have all three parts in the same folder. You should get a folder called clockworkmod. There should be another folder called "backup" inside.
Put the "clockwordmod" folder in your sd card.
Use clockwordmod to restore after factory reset, wipe system, wipe dalvik cache.... It is recommended that you use Clockwordmod 6 - it can be found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1823117

[curious] What are you guys doing? [/curious]
You realize backing up any part of your original stock ROM is pointless? All you have to do pick up the original stock tarball from Samsung's website, fire up ODIN, flash, and then not even Samsung can tell you ever did something to your phone. It will be stock everything: radio, recovery, ROM...
---------- Post added at 08:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:31 PM ----------
Here, follow the instructions: http://fus.nanzen.se/
There are no presets for Koodo, but all the information you need is readily available on the original box your phones came in.
And if you really need the Koodo recovery for whatever reason, it is an IMG file inside the TARball. You can just DD it in place.
Hello xda,
I tried rooting my SGH-T999 and it took a while so I unplugged the USB and restarted the phone. Phone keeps saying it has encountered a problem with the current firmware, connect to KIES and select recovery. Kies does not connect to the device. I read on xda to reflash using ODIN. I have ODIN v1.85 from trying to root, is this the right version to use because I also found the ODIN3_v3.07? As far as USB driver, is there separate drivers for ODIN or are people referring to the Samsung Kies drivers (I just installed KIES). I read to do it on this screen and I also read to try to go into the recovery mode (holding vol down, home, power) and then reflashing; which should I do?
Also, I found this link on xda for the T-mobile firmware ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 ). No idea which one to choose, why are there so many, I am currently downloading the latest one
"UVDLJA
PDA: T999UVDLJA
CSC: T999TMBDLJA
Version: 4.1.1 JB
Date: Nov. 14, 2012

If I want to use the pre rooted file do I need to fix my problem first and try flashing with stock firmware or can I try to fix the issue directly with the pre rooted firmware?
Re: [Q] SGH-T999 Rooted bad, phone stuck on start screen
Use the Odin from my signature.
You can probably just flash mrRobinson's stock rooted rom to fix it. And Kies is garbage. Uninstall it.
I would like to see the root guide you used as well.

Thanks for your response Aerowinder.
I got USB drivers earlier today that was a newer version but I will be using the files from your sig since it works :good:
Another question I had was, does the phone need to be in download mode or can I do it in the screen where it says "encountered problem with current firmware. Connect to KIES and select recovery" screen when I flash with Odin? I know normally I would have to be in the download mode but I'm wondering if it is the same when I am getting this error.
Re: [Q] SGH-T999 Rooted bad, phone stuck on start screen
Phone must be in download mode to use Odin.
The drivers in my signature are not the newest, you are correct. They are the last version I found that work without any issues. The newer ones pretty much suck. Constant disconnects mainly.

So I am watching the root video on your sig, so in my case I would choose the rom I want for the PDA instead of the cwm-touch-6.0.2.3-d2tmo right? Should I extract the rooted firmware or just load the zipped file onto ODIN PDA?
Re: [Q] SGH-T999 Rooted bad, phone stuck on start screen
Root66 does not contain a recovery so you still need to flash one of those but don't use my link. Get ROM Manager once you're up and running.
If you don't care about the flash counter you can flash the tar in my signature.
Sorry to interject here but you can get an Odin flashable recovery from here.
You can flash one of these and then flash Root66 right after and you'll have stock Rooted ROM with stock or custom recovery (your choice).
Not to be a buzzkill or anything but you are probably the 5th or 6th person in the past 2 weeks that have encountered the "encountered problem with current firmware. Connect to KIES and select recovery" error. Only a few of them have been able to pull out of it. The ones that have, have had to flash Root66 (or their device respective FW) multiple times.
I hope that you can get out of it and please post here if you do. Aerowinder knows what he is doing. Follow his lead.

Okay I don't care about the counter, I just want my phone to work and I'll be happy.
But now I'm getting a little confused about the cwm recovery.
So just to be clear, you are saying I need to flash a recovery (cwm-touch-6.0.2.3-d2tmo in my case since I don't care about the counter), BUT do I flash the recovery before or after I flash with Root66 firmware? That part I am confused about. And do I flash one right after another or do I need to restart my phone or ODIN first?
Thank you so much for helping me out. I was freaking out this morning and I am very grateful for your help and knowledge. I hope I am not being too much of a pain or hassle with these questions. Sorry that I am quite new to this

Woody, I went to the link you posted. What are the 4 files for?
Don't use those - they are older versions.
If you don't care about the counter, then flash the CWM in my signature using Odin (can provide TWRP tar link if that's your thing), then flash root66 using Odin. You can reboot in between... but no real reason to do so.
If you are still having issues after you flash these, drop into recovery (vol up + home) and reset factory defaults. If still having problems, only thing left to do is flash a full stock image, link also in my signature. The page you linked to does not contain the newest version because DocHolliday hasn't been around here much lately.

I am really hoping this will work on the first try!
Okay so from reading your post Woody I can use EITHER the TWRP and CWR, but I want to use the one that is easiest to use. Which one do you guys think is easier to use?
Also, SU3.3 or SU1.04 which one should I use? Aerowinder, your sig shows both now but earlier I didn't notice the SU1.04. I just realized I only need the SU file IF the prerooted file doesn't work but just in case it doesn't I guess it is better to know.
Draw straws. I use CWM/Superuser. I use Superuser because CM comes with it. AOKP comes with SuperSU... both work fine. Just make sure you use the ones from my signature, as they are newer versions. You won't need su if you get a prerooted rom, only for stock.

Now I get ''mtp has stopped'' ''settings has stopped'' and ''android.process.media has stopped'' each time I start the phone. I've been looking for the stock rom for my specific model (SGH-M919V) for hours but can't find it anywhere. I tried using SGH-M919 stock rom but it won't work even if I strictly follow the guide, ODIN tells me FAIL!! (Auth).. Could someone upload the stock rom for that specific model somewhere and give me the link please ?
I attached a screen capture from odin to show you what problem i get
Thank you

Not sure if you got what you needed but you can take the phone back to stock using Samsung Kies, just plug the phone in download mode select "tools" then "Firmware upgrade and initialization", input your phones info and off you go..
if you could also grab the rom downloaded by Kies and uploaded for us that'd be cool.

Unfortunately reverting back to stock with Kies has not worked for me either with that method.
Hopefully the stock firmware for this carrier will drop soon!
Bump
I too would like the stock firmware for this device before I start tinkering with it.
I am surprised however that odin fails while flashing the sgh-m919 firmware. I thought these devices were essentially the same.
Have you fixed your phone yet, and how so?
+1
I've soft bricked my phone and would really appreciate a stock m919V firmware. I've installed a bad kernel and/or rom and even the partitions are all screwed up. Nothing to do without a m919v odin flashable image.
Anybody?

Sent in a request to samfirmware.com & samsung-updates.com to post the firmware. Hoping that they consider the request.
Maybe you could do the same? I'm not asking to spam them, but I suppose it'll have an impact if there's more than 1 person requesting the firmware.

So, in my last post, I had mentioned that I had contacted samfirmware.com to post the stock firmware. They've responded to my request and already uploaded the firmware!
Posted the link here:

Good luck flashing it back to stock and reviving your S4.
Awesome. I'm downloading right not, but since I'm not a paid member on hotfile I'll only know in an hour if it works. I'll keep everybody posted, hopefully I'll be able to flash it with odin.
I'm also wondering what the no-name firmware on sammobile is. They posted the videotron, wind, and mobilcity firmwares. Is the no-name one unbranded? We'll have to wait and see.
So I downloaded the videotron firmware and it worked. Everything is back.
I'll try the unbranded version to see what it does.
Did you install the stock firmware using the stock recovery?

Glad to hear it, keep us posted if you flash that unbranded firmware. Hoping it frees up some internal storage.

I believe he would have flashed the stock firmware using Odin for Windows. At least that's how it is normally done.
I just downloaded the videotron firmware from the website, I didn't flash the recovery. It's .md5 format, so I've flashed it with Odin. The phone was on CWM recovery, but it doesn't really matter as the firmware flashes the stock recovery too.
So I just flashed the videotron image in odin, phone rebooted and everything is fine, I'm back to stock, including no root and stock recovery. The only thing that's still there is the fact that phone is unlocked. (I've used the method described in the forum to unlock it).
As for the other firmware, it has _ESK in the name. I'm 99.9999% sure it's Eastlink firmware, another mobile carrier in Canada. The other ones had _VTR and so on in their name.
thanks for the info
Hotfile is down
I'm looking for a factory image of any of the MDJ builds.... Hotfile is down so I can't get it... does anybody have a copy that they would be willing to upload for me.... I need it so I can reset and sell this phone ASAP to get christmas money. Thanks
Hey guys, I know a lot of us has been stuck with paper weights since we messed up flashing our phones thinking the L710 and L710t were the same... sooo, if you lost your imei and baseband unkown and no network and no audio and all these issues and just want to go back to stock.. you've come to the right place.
Remember this is for the sprint sph l710T .... note the T for triband lol
Step 1. Download Odin (search google)
Step 2. .tar file from here (https://mega.co.nz/#!cBBDEBpJ!t5IAcCaMg2w7GDI0zhhmZw0e7jh0Uv0v4gJpsH8gb6o)
put this in to odin in the pda section (note: if the file gives an md5 mismatch of some sort, remove (.md5) from the extension to leave the .tar)
step 3. put your phone in download mode... flash that shiiiiii, be patient and profit!
youre very welcome
BIIIGGGGG THANKS TO THESE GUYS FROM ANDROID FORUMS

the_dumbest_noob for actually pulling the .tar for kies to save our behinds!
yep i can verify i had to get this version cause the charging port on my phone died and according to the site it came from it should work across the board with Sprint, Boost, and Virgin Sph-L710T
I made a flashable zip that De-Odex the stock rom https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95832962473400340 check it out if you want but read the description
Great news, thanks to all who made this happen!
I'm a novice at this, If I flash this .tar my phone will no longer be rooted, correct?

if you flash the stock tar that is provided it will erase your entire phone except for the external storage and then replace it all with whats inside of it including your recovery

Copy that. Out of curiosity, it appears most people need this .tar because they lost their baseband / modems after installing a different rom. Wouldn't it be easier to just flash the L710T NF4 modem firmware? I downloaded it and was going to try it with a few roms that were messing with my baseband. Thoughts?

that file basically just puts the right files in on your SD card which then can be used in PhilZ via custom restore i believe....let me check into that
Will this work for SPH-L710T on Virgin Mobile?
Because this happened to my friend on her's: http://androidforums.com/threads/sph-710t-deleted-google-play-services.887991/
TLR=She deleted Google Play Services and her phone is all kinds of screwed up, factory reset didn't help the phone refresh the system file on its own, so either I need the stock .tar OR someone to upload me their Google Play Services system app (my Stratosphere II's usually works once but I think Google Play tries to update it and it fails and then all the problems start again)

So her phone wouldn't get screwed up with any kind of modem/network setting incompatibility because she's a Virgin Mobile subscriber and this was pulled from a Sprint L710T would it?

the one custom rom that will boot without the need for stock kernel is Conquest Singularity link https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15185 currently im running the Conquest-Singularity-10-beta9-Full.zip with the Conquest-Singularity-10-b10-update.zip everything seems to work fine except for the rotation but someone over at android forums says Conquest-Singularity-9-Full.zip by it self works including rotation he never mentioned the Conquest-Singularity-9.5-Update.zip so that's basically it to figure out how to install this amazing rom go to the Closed OP here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2774902

(you might want to add that to the OP)
THANK YOU, her phone is back to normal and it even kept her model intact!
And now I backed up her phone (Titanium and Nandroid) right this time (to SD not internal)
flash this kernel after you flash Conquest so rotation gets fixed https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5y5w6clj...T747-TW-KK-4.4-ATT-05-13-2014 kernel.zip?dl=0
You sir, have fixed my phone.

Do you still have this TAR available? The mega.co.nz link says the file is not available. I am in this exact same predicament where I thought this phone was the same as the L710 and now... I can't get anything I try to work. Always stuck in a boot-loop and I've tried a couple ROMs. I also can't seem to find a Stock ROM anywhere!

I hate bumping an old thread, but in this case, I'm in the same predicament after flashing an OS and not having a way to update the PRL and such. The L710T TAR would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I used to be rooted with custom ROMs ect but went back to stock I317ATTALJ2 so I can give the phone to my daughter. Well everything went smooth until an update from AT&T came through and she ran it when the battery was at 21% but I'm not sure it that matter but didn't help in matters... Anyhow it ran the upgrade and on reboot it stayed on the Galaxy Note II screen and wont do anything but sit there. I let it sit for a long time before pulling the battery and booting but it goes to same screen and same thing. I can not get into recovery (Volume Up, Home, Pwr) but I can go into download mode. With the battery being so low I read that it charges while in download mode so for the remainder of the day I put the phone in download mode and plugged into charger.
Suggestions?
After you get it charged up some and you're in download mode. Just Odin back to stock Att firmware should fix the problem hopefully...
You can find the stock firmware here>> http://bit.ly/1HNVFVJ
Guess the phone didn't like that update ?.

Ok.
Hopefully everything works out next time around.
Another thing you could try is flashing which ever recovery you previously had installed. Last time I was having issues with something similar, after re flashing my recovery everything started working again. Just just a thought that might work.
I'm monitoring this thread too see what happens ok.

Yes you can flash a custom recovery from Odin. You just have to use the (Twrp) tar file found here>>>
http://bit.ly/1y0Tyg7
Find your device model and download the tar. And make sure you're downloading the correct file for your device ok!
I to use Twrp and luv it.?
OK, well its not looking good....
1) Flashed the stock firmware suggested...... Still get same results!
2) Flashed TWRP through ODIN and it made it to the same screen and froze. Did a battery pull and button combo and it wont go into recovery.
Is there a application that will force your phone into recovery and download modes? I remember back when I messed with the captivate there was a application someone built that did such a thing.
Any suggestions?

Not sure you were on the newer 4.4.2 bootloader or not. If it was on a newer bootloader then you won't be able to downgrade.. This might help you get the phone working again since you just flashed the original firmware.
Go to this thread here>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502464.
Download

flash this to bring wifi back
