Flash the RUU your Desire originally came with (assuming you had the foresight to actually check and get it before flashing) and then once back to stock try rooting again

yup im deff. bricked i went to install the new synergy and i went to boot phone and it just sticks at white htc evo screen i have tryed to install a new pc36img and it installed then i went to recovery and it still gets stuck at the white htc evo screen and just loops so yea im deff bricked lol i know they say if you can get into hboot then your not bricked but hmmm plz help
well not enough info to help but...can you get into recovery...if so try a full wipe and flash a simple and easy stable rom ...say like fresh 4
Ur not bricked if ur phone powers on. Boot to recovery, do a full wipe, and flash a stock rom n c how that goes

You're not bricked, I've had this happen before. Back up all your meaningful files to your desktop, go into recovery and format your sd card, do it a couple times, then find a PC36IMG zip and put it on your sd card. Try to find a rooted rom if not, you'll have to re-root your phone. I used a 2.2 rom for an easy root with Unrevoked, then started back flashing. Good luck. Its normal for it to sit on the white screen for up to 5 minutes.

i cant get into recovery when i try from bootloader it just brings the htc screen back up and then stays on that for a few then screen turns black and then the white htc evo screen lol sooo im lost i have tryed to install the pc36img and it asked me to update and i said yes and then hit recoveryand still nothing
Try running an ruu in exe form from your computer.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
how would i do that im not familiar with adb all that well sorry guys
You don't need adb. Download the newest ruu. Its a program run on your pc. It will wipe and replace everything. Its pretty much what htc would use to reflash a phone
We're comin from a pure power source.
to be honest I would surf through this section and General since everyone who phone gets stuck on the white HTC Evo screen first goes its bricked. I think we use that term too loosely in here. I know your not the first person to have this happen to them and I know many others have come out of it. Its just that there are so many different methods. This is where knowing a little adb will help you. If not I suggest learning it quickly.
If you are still S-Off I would try and reflash a recovery preferably Amon and then see if you can get into recovery and you Caulkins format all zip. Hopefully you will be able to do those two functions and if I were you I would load up a stock rooted rom first... Good luck and dont yell bricked till it wont turn on anymore...lol

Yea but I read your post and aren't you looking for Mac fastboot files? If so try this link it has a zip for a Android Metro file I was trying to repair. There are a couple for Mac files in there adb-mac and fastbot-mac.
I will post this in your thread as well
do what playya said and flash amon_Ra recovery through hboot. try and get that back before you run a ruu. look in the dev section for the ra thread and follow the directions to manually flash it and see if it works. It may just be that you lost your recovery.
well i got it to boot but now it stays booted after i ran ruu and now it stays on for about 2 mins then shuts off hahah well i got a new one coming for free in a few days so im good guys ty
what ruu should i use for the evo the one i installed seems to freeze my phone after boot up and then reboots

a little more info on the phone you have to use the right one for your radio and Hboot. I would just try and see if you still have s-off and flash a recovery and go from there... Or just say f-it and wait for new phone...
Hey! A'm new here (noob) and i have got some problem with my HTC Desire HD.
I tried to root my phone but unfortunately I failed.
I don't know why but it looks like my phone is briked... I cant run system. I tried go to hboot... it worked but i cant recovery and run factory reset.
Its strange but in hboot screen it writes me S-OFF so its look like my phone is rooted.
So when I try to run my phone (normal) HTC logo shows but it slowly turning from white screen with logo into dark. The same effect is when a try schoose recovery or factory reset.
Please help and sorry for my bad english.

So far, you did half of what you did wrong. this subject has been discussed in these forums over and over, so instead of opening a new thread you need to search and read. Factory reset should never be pressed as it deletes the usb debugging drivers, but you probably missed that part.
If you are S-OFF then flash a recovery from fastboot and then a custom rom..or flash a RUU you like. Use the guide in my signature to find out how.
Yes I know this thread is spam but my problem looks diffrent than normal. Bricked android phones got logo showed all the time but my phone after 5 - 7 seconds is turning into black but device is still working.
The problem is that i have really no idea how to do now. When I rooted it how can I install custom ROM?

you don't need root to flash a custom rom. You need S-OFF and a custom recovery. Read the guide.
Fade to black screen means that your PC connectivity failed way through the process and should have been run again from that screen as stated in the manual.
So, what I have to do now? My phone is rooted and what now? But i think I damaged software in my phone because i cant recovery system.
You are not rooted (you need a ROM to be rooted). You are S-OFF with no custom recovery. There is a section in glevitan's guide explicitly for this very issue.
I don't think you're listening the advice above.....
Have you got a recovery installed? Can you boot into it? If you haven't, flash one in hboot.
From recovery, flash a ROM

Hello, I attempted to install a custom rom to improve my phones performance and stop it being sluggish, but it's backfired.
I was smart enough to back up my phone in Clockwork Recovery, and after I've restored my previous backup, well, my phone isn't booting.
It gets past the white HTC Screen (not Quietly Brilliant, just plain HTC) and for some reason it jumps to a black screen. Doing nothing. Just sitting there. I'm still able to access my HBOOT and Recovery but everything I try seems to get me no where. I tried rebooting and doing a factory reset. I could try another factory reset but I don't know where that would get me.
If anyone has any advise I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.
Daniel.

you can try to flash stock rom..it ll boot for sure..
about your problem it's strange..your backup should hv worked cz you just changed recovery nothing else..
Exactly what I'm thinking, I just done another recovery just to be on the safe side, and now my phone is no longer going to a black screen, instead it's just stuck on the HTC screen. But I'll take up your advise and try a stock rom.
This is the rom I attempted to install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515120
I followed all the instructions and for some reason it just didn't agree with my phone and wouldn't boot. Hence me restoring my phone.
Never should have bothered and left it as it was. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you

good luck...if nothing works out..check my work in my signature..you will find flashable stock zips..try anyone just in case..
Right, I just installed the Marvel Stock Rom you have, and it almost boots.
What I mean by this is, it goes through the HTC screen, then reboots.
On the second boot after the HTC screen it throws me back into ClockworkMod. I followed all the instructions you say to do and it still isn't cutting it :-/

Hello everyone,
I have been using this website to try out different things with my DHD. Last month I rooted the phone myself and ran jellybean on it. Then I wanted to try android revolution so i wiped that off and copied another rom in it. I went through the installation process but for some reason it did not work properly. Now when i start my phone it boots into recovery mode and if i select reboot now it restarts and shows the Green HTC logo with white screen and then the screen goes total black, as in black light comes up and stays like forever. I am a noob as its obvious so please help in as simple language as possible. Waiting for your suggestions.
Thanks.
add info.

Okay, this is really weird. I tried flashing the no red text HBOOT file via RUU and it seemed to get rid of the red text, but now for some reason it goes through the entire boot sequence and boots into the OS while still showing the boot screen. I can get texts and notifications in the background, and it vibrates when I hold down the power button, meaning the power menu is showing up but nothing else will respond. The boot screen on my phone is actually the google bootscreen from the GPE version for some reason, because when I switched to and from the GPE edition it just stayed that way.
This is pretty weird, does anybody know what it could be?
Alright, I tried flashing the stock hboot and the red text is back, but I'm still having the same problem.
Aaand I managed to fix it by flashing the entire stock firmware via RUU. Still though, what was going on here...? Also, the red text is gone too for some reason, even though I never flashed the red text-less version again. Huh.

Red text shows only when your try to use a custom recovery etc etc. Stock boot doesnt even show that screen.

Yeah, I realized that.
Do you know why my phone got stuck with the google bootscreen...? This really seems to be causing quite a bit of trouble, I've had to reflash the firmware several times after having it get stuck in that weird state again. It happened again after I tried to flash the kernel to a custom one, but everything was working fine before I tried flashing that custom HBOOT.

Nope, I downloaded the Telus one, the one for my device - my CID though was set to SuperCID, though I'm not sure how that would make much of a difference. I did switch it back to the Telus one while it was doing that thing, but I didn't reflash the HBOOT while it had the Telus CID.

That is pretty weird, im guessing either the Hboot was corrupted maybe or the version on the file was wrong. One way i would suggest would be to flash a full RUU or a full firmware.zip (1.4Gb + size).

Where would I find the full RUU or full firmware.zip? It was honestly pretty hard to even find the small ~40MB one that I pulled the stock HBOOT from, since Telus isn't an american carrier. I couldn't find any of that stuff on HTC's website either.
Anyway, I never bothered trying to flash the modified HBOOT again since I didn't want to deal with that problem again.
Do you have any idea what's up with the initial boot screen still being stuck as the Google one though?

The MID is: 0P6B16000
Original CID: CID-TELUS001
How would I go about finding the original firmware version?
Thanks for the help!
The base firmware the phone came with. Im not entirely sure if you can just change the CID/MID and flash a RUU from a different region.
But if you are running a custom ROM, it might be different.
Alright sorry for the super late reply, just been busy. I tried looking for the RUU but couldnt really find the executable. The best option would be to look for the proper zips.
Is the problem still there or did you manage to fix it ?

Well, I'm still running into the problem with the red text removal HBOOT not working properly, but honestly I think I can probably just deal with it for now. I still honestly have no idea how to fix the boot splash being the stock google one though. It seems kind of weird that it just got stuck like that. I don't have any urgent need to switch that back to stock for now though.
Thanks a lot anyway!!

Not nearly enough info. Saying things like "cleared everything" and "nothing worked" doesn't help. You need to state specifically and in detail what you have tried, otherwise its difficult to help. More detail is always better.
What ROM did you try to install? Did you try others? What recovery and version?
Normally, if you want to replace the boot.img, just re-flash the current ROM.
