Hello
I Have a Galaxy S i9000 with Froyo and the Youtube App is 1.6 version.
How can I update it to 2.0.26 (Latest version), I checked already the Market but it doesn't give me any indication about a new youtube App version , It's weird ??
What if you don't go via Downloads -> Update, but rather search for it and just install it?
Even if I search for it, I don't find it.
I also have the same with the latest version of google Map, I can't find it it the Market.
Does this have a relation with the Android Market that I have in my device ??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814910&highlight=youtube
I used search function and got this in 30seconds (something to think about)
Do I need to do something to market in order to be able to install this, version of youtube.
I searched and I found something about market fix to be able to install protected application. Do I need to apply this fix and how to do this on my GS ?

You can also try this:
Menu --> Settings --> Applications --> All --> Market --> Clear data
It didn't solve the problem.
The problem that I have is after I upgraded to Froyo using the Hack Registry on Kies.
Since then I can't see some applications on Market. even the Home screen of the market is blank is this Normal ??
Any solutions ?
After i saw your post, i found youtube on the market and installed it (2...) And it worked. I have froyo jp7, done with kies..hope this helps

I've noticed that some apps are absent from my market. now even facebook.
ahh now I see angry birds + seasons are missing 2 even though they are present on the web market as installed on my device
I'm using XJMIUI 1.6.24 GB s-off stock hboot
the device brand appears a generic instead of HTC in elxir info
after some research on xda + help from uncle google I see 2 possibilities:
1. this is a market issue due to recent update and should be resolved in time
2. I have a bad build.prop file that is not recognized as legit by market.
I've been searching for the correct build.prop lines for gingerbread but to no avail... there is a fix for froyo on xda and i even tried it -- as expected i get stuck on boot.
can someone form other rom than miui confirm that it is a market problem?
or maybe provide correct build.prop info?
common apps that are restricted by country are ok -- I use MarketAccess (does the same thing as mark et enabler) for that
thanks!
update: definitely something going on at the market -- now even market enabler wont work for maps even after rolling back via nandroid... I'll wait and see what happens..
another update: found this will try tomorrow...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133702
resolved: feel a total noob....
the way to resolve is to clear data+cache Google Services Framework and then clear data+cache of the market...
then open market -- you should get an error... wait a couple of minutes and enter again -- all should be fine
I am using DK Custom Froyo V4.5.2 ROM by Deep-Knight .. very nice ROM for daily usage .. thanks Deep Knight and other contributors.
All running fine, only problem i am facing is the phone has updated the market to latest version. But when i run this latest market it crashes. So i have to uninstall the updates of market. Any solution for this ?
Secondly, i want to disable all applications like maps, market from auto updating. I don't know how to use comand prompt, so any software or patch to flash to disable auto update.
Thanks for all your help guys.

Summary:
- Old Market Flashable is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17490859&postcount=131
- Freeze Market Updater using an app like Titanium Backup to prevent the market from updating again.
- As for other apps like Maps, I don't think they update automatically (Unless you explicitly allow them to). Auto updating only happens for System Apps like the Android Market.
Good Luck
Google maps auto updates itself regardless of the tick box in the market, I'm not sure if that's for everyone but I know there's a lot having the update problem,
autostarts has solved it for me, and the fact that its also constantly running in the background.

That's weird, I am still on v5.3.0, and I get an option to update it from the market.
Hi I'm running juggernaut 5.0 and I have this problem where my market will downgrade to an older version and then update to the new version. Anyway I can keep it updated?

"Not Supported" message
I'm having an issue with the Market (Google Play): About 70% of the apps I look at in the Market tell me "Your device isn't compatible with this item".
At first I thought it was a botched ROM flash (tuesday -new beggining) so I did a full wipe & reloaded the same ROM; same issue (about 90% of apps gave that error).
I recently loaded Paradox II (the 3/05 release) and did a full wipe as directed (flashed the wipe util's that were posted). Before restoring any of my apps I checked the market for the paid ones I use that were installed while on the rooted factory ROM (like MyBackup Pro) and got the same message. Some of the apps that "weren't supported" when on the Tuesday ROM were all the sudden supported & downloadable.
I had all apps backed up with MyBackup Pro and installed just the apps (no settings) using the BusyBox option. Every app worked just fine & market links restored but when going to market to update one of the installed & working apps, it'd say not compatible.
Thinking this was a market issue, I uninstalled the updates, cleared data/cache, and installed various versions of Market (including the new one) that were talked about in other threads about Market errors... did not fix it.
When going to the Market on my computer and looking at apps that are installed or were installed pre-custom ROM, it has my SGH-T989 grayed out. I checked build.prop and couldn't see anything with the device identification that looked wrong.
This is preventing a lot of my installed apps to not be able to be updated... Any ideas as to what is causing this? Did I fubar something when doing the first custom ROM flash?
Here are some of the major apps that are saying they are incompatible:
Adobe Flash Player
Astrid Task
Documents to Go
Dolphin Browser HD
DropBox
MyBackupPro
SuperUser

Is there a list of these files anywhere that you know of? I ran in to an issue a while back on my G2x when doing something similar to this after a failed theme flash.
Under system/app I have marketupdater.apk but nothing else...
/data/app. Mine is called com.android.vending

Update on this issue...
I cleared the cache/data for Play Store, uninstalled updates, turned off data, cleared cache/data for Market, went through and deleted all Market related apps/folders:
data/data/com.android.vending (folder)
data/data/com.android.vending.updater (folder)
data/app/com.android.vending.apk
system/app/MarketUpdater.apk
system/app/vending.apk
- I reinstalled the last version of Market that was posted on goo then let it update to Play Store. This resulted in more apps being "compatible" but still had quite a few coming up as "incompatible" (that I had installed & knew worked on the GS2). After further research I found a scenario on another Samsung phone that the lowering the LCD Density caused this same issue. After setting it back to 240 & reinstalling the Market again, the issue was resolved...
I would love to lower the density again but don't want to mess up the Market. Does anyone know of a tweak that will allow this (I'm thinking a build.prop mod)?
Hello guys, I bought this phone and I am happy with it. But my question is that, when I get any app update in play store it download the whole app instead of the update size. Because I have a spice mi 1010 tablet(Jellybean) too and when I update same app in that tablet it just update small amount of data and when I update same app in Android One it download whole app.
Is that normal in kitkat that download whole app again when update came?
Also I got Google play v5 material design update in my tablet but there is no update of google play in my Andorid one.
Please help someone.

Need help, developers please look into this matter.
I am having same issue. Can someone please help? The issue is that whenever updating any app via playstore itself, the full app gets downloaded instead of the incremental update. The camera app is over 35mb, many other apps are about the same size. Downloading such big updates every other day is not practical. I have used an HTC device with ICS earlier.. It downloaded incremental updates... Like maybe 100kb to 3mb for apps more than 40mb themselves. I can understand that sometimes the updates can be huge but I have seen this issue every time.
BTW, just FYI, I think something has broke this feature. The day I got my phone, I updated some app and it did not download entire thing, just a part. Now where has that feature gone? Someone please try factory reset and confirm this.
even i have this play store prob.. right from day 1 . haven't found a soln.

To update the Google Play Store on your Android without an APK.
Follow the steps:
1. Open the Google Play Store app
2. Open the side slide-out menu
3. Select "Settings"
4. Scroll down until you see "Build version"
5. Click on "Build version"
If a new build of the Play Store is available, you will be prompted to download and install it. If it’s already the latest, you will get a message that reads, “Google Play Store is up to date,” as you can see in the photo above.
Does your device have this problem? And does the method suggested by you work for even yourself??
I have a strong feeling that this has something to do with cache. Something like the device is unable to understand what the earlier version is while downloading!! Or maybe our ROM lacks the permission to write over the memory where the installed apps are!! And so it downloads entire app and installs it as fresh install because it is unable to patch the update over already installed app... I am just wondering, I don't know much about the android software and this new dalvik v/s ART. I program in other languages.
OK so I factory reset my phone + wipe sd card, and surprisingly Google Play automatically updated to latest v5.0.38 automatically no need to side load it but main problem still there updating apps still downloading whole app instead of only actual update size. I think this is problem of ROM of Android One.(I am still not sure how many people facing this issue.) But I cant update whole app again and again. Please someone find solution of this or contact Google or Micromax for this issue.
yes bro.. u may be right. I faced the same issue. finally I got rid of tat by shifting to PAC ROM. jus move on to custom rom. tats the only soln for now

Same here too. Any solution for this ?
Hi buddies,
1. Do you have any success regarding installig Google apps on Chinese version (M9wp)?
2. May be someone knows how to replace chinese search engine Hidi with google search?
Hi,
Download this GMS from the stock app market (see photo)
Install
Run the app, let it download the package and install it (without SD card)
Reboot the phone
After the reboot I had all the Gapps but most weren't working because the G play services version was not updated,
I downloaded the latest version, installed it than something weird happened, using a VPN of course, I wasn't able to download all the updates of the Gapps while I was able to download any other app from the play store, this for a couple of days while I was looking for a solution, than the third day, without me doing anything I was able to download them and now I have the play store version for all the Gapps and they work
About G search I just put a widget on the home and hid the Chinese hidi

Thank you very much for a detailed information.
What do you think will I need vpn anyway while I'm already in Europe now?
( Already solved this issue)
I have installed GMS. After first run also.downloaded 190mb app package and when I'm trying to open app again to install google apps some chinese warning are popping up.
Well since Google is blocked nowhere but China you shouldn't need a VPN connection, cannot say more than that since haven't used mine outside China, yet.
the first pop up says that you have downloaded the package and asks you if you want to install it,
The second tells you that you have to restart the phone to complete the installation.
Great!
Everything works as you promised.
