[Q] yes? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on cm6 rc1 and I track my battery usage religiously.
Regardless, using spare parts I discovered something called "YES" and it was sucking up battery. But instead of a blue filled line it was red. "YES" wasn't in the partial wake section.
What's "YES?"
Why is it red?
Thanks

answer is no

Maybe so

Touch key lights?

Do the touch key lights just stay off when the phone is low on battery because right now mine are off and I have it on always on but my battery is very low.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
If you do not use any batterh saver app, the system just acts as you set up it on settings > display > touch key light duration
You can change the time from there.

But if your touch light is always off on low battery then you may need to check wether any application is intercepting your default settings.

you did not answer my question...
it happened when my phone went into critical mode maybe it was just an bug because after it died and I turned it back on they were on.
My second post. Which rom are you using? If you do not use any tweaked version nor any battery saver app, system won't turn off the light.

Mine shut off once the battery gets critically low, also screen dims even though I have auto brightness off.
It makes sense why it does that though.

[Q] Broken Power button, any way to fix or mod?

So i dropped my Epic 4g on the stairs, and it landed directly on the power button. The button no longer works. If someone knows how to fix this, I would LOVE details. If it is not possible, can any of the devs cook up a mod to make my phone boot as soon as the charger is connected? Any feedback is appreciated.

Do you know if its just the plastic button or is it broken more towards the motherboard? Also I'm not sure of any dev who would know how to change the power on to the charger input.

Do u have any way to turn it on? At least to get to cwm? Cuz if u can and flash cm7 it has an option to turn another button into the power button.

more towards the mother board. I opened it up, removed the plastic button, and used a small screwdriver to press the actual button. No dice

I can turn it on (oddly enough rapidly inserting and removing the power cord tricks it into turning on) and yes I can get into clockwork mod. I already user cyanogen mod 7. Where is this setting? I already changed the "volume rocker wake" setting. If there another one to remap the keys?

No I think you got the one that was in my mind. I'm on the peoples rom now so I can't really go and check to make sure but its the setting that makes the phone turn on by the volume key I'm guessing? So maybe you have the one I was thinking about? What other use do you need the power button for at the moment? Order a replacement and just flash the FC09 tar before giving it in. Say that u don't know what's wrong but it won't turn on lol.

Well if your power button doesn't work then Odin isn't a possibility. But if you can get into download mode then Odin to stock and turning it into the nearest sprint store would be your best bet....
Widget locker can do it

I have no passcode on my phone and when I slide the keyboard the screen turns on and I just swipe it to unlock. Or you can use your insurance and get it replaced for $100.

That's the ticket right there, sliding the keyboard open turns on the screen.

I know that. Unlocking my phone isn't the issue. It's turning it on after it turns off inevitably

Put the button back in, odin to el30, remove sd card and bring it to sprint. That's your best option.

If he could odin than he can turn on the phone hence no need for this thread but that's not the case. Honestly just go pay the money and have sprint give you another phone and say you lost it. Its the same cost even if you give them the phone I've done it before for people who wanted my epic for cricket and with the additional cash I payed for the issurance. Your paying for insurance use it.

I can deal with it until June. Then everyone on the house upgrades but me. I'll take my older sisters epic 4g and use my parents HTC EVO's as mp3 players. Or whatever the hell music format I so damn choose player as my audiophile friend refers to Android phones (he's kinda a fan). But thanks for the help guys. Looks like it's a waiting game

Quickboot from Play has a flash to recovery option.
I'm on CM10 (nightly 9/28) and recently my power button broke.
I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27334251&postcount=6
Menu - Settings - Display - (scroll down to Wakeup Options and check Volume rocker wake)... but it doesn't wake it from a deep sleep. Anyone have any ideas?
Slide the keyboard open and close it. That should turn the screen on

full charge notification?

It's funny when I search around the forums for it, everyone wanted to disable it, but I actually want it. I'm currently running AOKP Build 3 and I was wondering if there was an option for this.
Is there an app for it?
Other people were complaining about how the full charge notification wakes them up in the middle of the night. Were they planning to charge overnight and overcharge? Isn't this bad for the phone or was it just a myth?
Use tasker and create a profile in it for full charge notification. It is quite easy.

Tasker is awesome, but it's a pretty heavy app for a simple "done charging" notification. If no one has put together an app for this, they should.

Anyone notice the top of the screen above the notification bar, the light? Its a line above it. Drives me nuts. Its hard to explain.

I see nothing on mine GN, maybe you should post a picture of it

Could also be ROM related ... Don't remember on which ROM it was actually, but I had a bright line somewhere around the notification area ...
Mmm, if it's is a custom rom maybe it could be the battery bar (try to look if it decrease at battery decreasing). Then you've only to disable it in the settings (probably you've turned on without noticing if it's the case).

I also have a line at the top of the screen. It is there all the time, and on any ROM.
No line for me, AOKP MR1

This was what I was thinking as well...Its the only time I've ever seen a line on mine with any of the ROMs I've run
It is definitely not there on stock, so it is either your ROM or a hw failure.
It's not on stock. That's annoying.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Well, and on which rom happens? Does it happens on everyone you have tried?
