[Q] removing uninstalled apps from market - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

when i open up the 'download' page on the market. It seems to show every app i've had on my phone. Even ones that have 'failed' or have been uninstalled show up at 'free'.
Is there anyway to remove these? I've tried clearing the cache/data from the market but still nothing.

Mine usually disappear within a day...or sooner. Sometimes they are gone within minutes when I uninstall something.

MMBosstones86, i have the same problem.
does your market also freeze on the installing part? mine does although the status bar states that it installed successfully. hmm
in for solutions

not here, mine don't seem to go away...ever.
i got some in there i uninstalled more than a month ago

Come on people, try Googling your questions before posting them here.
I did a Google search for "clear android market download history" and found this page on the second result:

Market broken?

At some point after updating to Froyo EC05, some of my installed Market apps when clicked on only show "The Requested Item Could Not Be Found." Seems to be the same apps, both paid and free, each time.
The weird thing is that if I search for them and then click on the result I can go to the app just fine. I even thought I had fixed the issue by opening the app from within Market. That seemed to make the link work in "My Apps" again. But when relaunching Market the links don't work after that. What could be the solution? I tried clearing the Market cache and rebooting but that had no effect.
You said you cleared market cache, did you also clear market data?

Is it safe to do that, since it warns about permanent deletion? (If it's all linked to my google account but still...)
It is perfectly fine, it will just require you to accept the T&C of the market again.

OK, I'll give it a try...(famous last words heheh)
ETA: didn't hurt, but didn't help. Thanks. Anyone or thing else?
Do you have auto updating enabled for the market app?

I think yes, although I don't know where that setting is (does it even exist?). Its at the latest version I believe, 2.3.4, and it updated to that both on Eclair and then again shortly after first boot to EC05 since the market was oddly enough an older version at first.
This happened with me once. I couldn't figure out why. It was an app that needed to be updated, so I wanted to read the change log. Long story short, I ended up searching it, and updating it after I read it.

That's strange about needing to update one app which seems to hold back all the others...?
Well, I'm now seeing apps I actually installed disappear from the My Apps list entirely. This is weird and disconcerting, even though again they do show up if I search. ETA: well, I did find a missing app that had apparently been updated. While after un/reinstalling it made the other missing app(s) return, the same apps still give the error when clicked on.
Maybe the issue is on The Big G's end? I remember they had some market problems that made stuff unable to d/l and install months ago and all the tweaks I did to fix it had no effect until it just resolved itself somehow.

I had the same exact experience. I tried everything you tried... without success. I even Odin'd back to Eclair.. got the OTA update to EC05 and reinstalled apps.
That didn't work either. Like you, I'm hoping it was something on Google's end.
I've come to the conclusion that the app, My Backup, is responsible for screwing up the market links. I used it to backup my apk files - without data. And somehow, when the apk's are used/restored after a fresh installation, the market links are corrupted.
This time, to get things right, I simply went to settings-privacy, and erased the data. I didn't Odin back to Eclair and get the OTA Froyo. Nor did I restore from the "My Backup" app. I restored my apps from the market and a separate "manual backup" of the apks and everything is fixed.
In my case I just did an update.zip for Froyo. Although I have backups with MyBackup Root I haven't had to use any yet. And the problem still persists.
I have this issue on EC05 stock.
I tried clearing Market cache and no-go. I finally had to clear data on each application with this issue, then uninstall. Only after those two steps were completed, I could once again navigate to the application's market page to download and install.
I'm just waiting for Syndicate v1.1.1 to dump stock. I think OTA is just way too buggy without a full data wipe.

My Backup Root ... that's the culprit.
Just save your data, what you can... Go to Settings, Privacy, and format your data. Then restore your data without using My Backup Root in any manner. Just grab the apps from the market.. or whatever
Im betting big bucks its My Backup Root.. the same app I USED. Your market links are corrupted, just like mine. Something particular to yours and my settings and My Backup Root. Otherwise, this thread would be 500 pages if it was a Google/Froyo bug.
Actually I DIDN'T use it. I may try the suggestion above. This is not really severe. Yet.
I can search for and get to them, just not through My Apps. Today Google Maps updated without an issue, although I don't know if that was one with the problem.
The issue just gets weirder. I have the Compass app for example. I was always able to get to it no problem through My Apps in the Market (unlike some others). Today it asked to update. I did so. Now, when I click on it from My Apps, it gives the error message. (But can still search for it and click through.) The f*** dude? Heh.
ETA: I'm seeing an unusual number of force closes too. At least 3 today. And several are triggered by clicking on My Apps which at first takes me to the app page, then next time shuts me out as I described earlier. Is it possible to reinstall Market somehow? Maybe that's where the problem is.
Bump...after a long struggle with this, including seeing only 3 of several dozen installed apps until I cleared Market cache and data, I got an at least temporary fix.
This time, it was me seeing all my apps, getting the 'not found' message and not even being able to find the app link through search anymore.
So this time I cleared Market cache and data, then used Apps2SD to clear all app data, then signed back into Market. Now, all my apps appear and link to their pages. An odd detail is that although I appear to still have Market v2.3.6, there are new options in Market settings regarding what ratings to display with a series of checkboxes. I checked "all". But I don't believe that's ever been there before. (And the don't display AdSense option appears to do nothing when unchecked, I don't understand why that's even there...)
Hopefully this fix lasts or can be done again. Other than the bluetooth and disappearing icons for landscape homescreen issues, it's the worst I've seen in Froyo.

I don't think I need to apologize for sharing info that might possibly be helpful to others. Creating a new thread is more frowned upon, according to most forum etiquette I'm familiar with.
I had the same problem. I reloaded stock ROM using ODIN

Weird glitch, need help!

Today, I went to the Market to update some of my apps and ROM Manager automatically started updating. Then, the Market forced closed and whenever I try to open it, it force closes again. In my notification bar it says I am downloading three things, and they are all called ROM Manager. I tried a reboot, but no fix. Then I tried killing all apps, which didn't work. Then I tried to turn data off in settings, and it did nothing. xScope automatically now force closes too.
I have CM7 nightly build #26. Any ideas?
Have you tried clearing the market cache?

Thank you, that fixed my immediate problems!
However, now when I click "My Apps" in the Market, it only shows my purchased apps, and not my free installed apps. Why is this?

Well, for starters, you just wacked your local market cache.
I believe it refreshes with time (has for me in the past). Give it a day/reboot or two and check again.
I think pronghornrunner is right. They should show eventually but it will take some time.
Aren't thanks guys. No worries then!

[Q] Market not working correctly!?!?!?!

All of the sudden the other day I went to check the status of my apps in the market and to see if any needed to be updated and a strange screen appeared. It has my email address, which is the linked account, and underneath it says "Applications and games owned by this account will appear here." Underneath it has two buttons that say "Browse Apps" and "Browse Games". I've reinstalled the market apk and also reinstalled my current ROM. No luck with anything. Anyone have any ideas?
Hmmm maybe a bump will let people see this?
I know the market got another update to where you could have multiple accounts on the market maybe that had something to do with it.
Try to clear data and uninstall any updates through app manager.

Tried all of that and nothing. Hell, I even tried restoring a recent known good backup and the market still tanks on me. I've googled this and it seems a few others are having the same problem with no luck. We shall see.
*edit*
I just wiped and installed a DIFFERENT ROM and i'm still having the same issue. It starts out fine and then, poof, its back. I'm gonna reinstall again now and try reloading my TB backups one at a time instead of a batch restore. Maybe its a corrupt backup that making my Market wonky? I'm at a loss.

Market not showing paid apps as paid for

I recently made the switch over to CM 7.2 from 7.1. I've flashed plenty of roms before, so everything went smoothly. Only problem is now apps I have paid for in the market now show the price instead of the normal "download" button. Clicking it takes you to the Google checkout pay screen....
They are still listed in the "my apps" section, so what is going on?
1) Do you have multiple accounts on the phone. Have you gone to market settings and made sure you are using the account you purchased them with?
2) Have you tried clearing data from market app to see if that clears it?
Only one google account and wiping the market didn't fix it. But I just tried wiping market data and rebooting the phone, that seems to fix it. Might be a fluke, some research into other people with the same problem seems to point at a Google server error that resolves on its own. Thanks!
I already had paid apps not showing as paid but everytime i've been able to install it after clicking as if i wanted to buy it again (i mean just the 1st click on the price !).

Not showing as paid? Or not showing under the "My apps" list?

Google Search Force Close

Hello everyone!
I'm running Hyperdrive on my S3, and I'm struggling with Google Search and getting it to work properly. I haven't had this issue before on the S3 or my Note, so I'm a little lost. It came pre-installed with this app. It would open, run through the Google Now setup, and then when it went to the part where it listens to what you're saying, the screen would freeze and it would force close (eventually). I removed it and reinstalled it from the market.. Same thing. I have tried different APK files I found and nothing is working.
I have also noticed that when the app is installed, I have two different search applications, so I think it's running a duplicate app somewhere, but I can't find it.. I have "Google" which takes me to the search thing, and then I have "Voice Search" which takes me there as well, both force close if I open them.
Any ideas? Where are all the files for these located? I thought I completely removed it, but maybe I missed something and it's causing issues.
Thanks for the help!

Sounds like your google voice is messed up somehow, If you manually type something into google now, does it work? I would say to try and clear cache and data for google search and framework in settings>apps>under all tab. Reboot phone, if this doesn't work, try a full wipe-ROM reflash. For future reference this should have been posted in Q&A.
