I have a 2800mah yoobao battery and its only lasting me about 18-20 hours...but a guy on youtube shows hes easily getting 2-3 days on his phone. I moderately use this phone with black backround...wifi enabled gps bluetooth and everything else i can disabled...and i have app killer and juice defender why is this battery not lasting long
Well first those ebay 2800mah batterys are more like 2100-2500mah. Second that guy on youtube did some black screen tricks and some other things to get 3 days. I wouldnt use any app managment programs unless you have 10 things that want to startup, and juice defender just isnt a good way to save battery unless you always have a bad signal, when you have a great signal very little battery life is used by the radio.
But I just posted some great numbers using the seido 3300mah battery, and I actually used this phone plenty during the tests...

Like ecooce mentioned, those batteries aren't generally as good as they claim. But I can't answer your question until you answer a few more to the best of you ability:
1. Are you using a ROM? What ROM?
2. The "guy" on youtube was definitely using a ROM, what ROM was he using?
3. How long does your phone last on your stock Samsung 1500 mah battery, for reference?
4. How many and which widgets do you use?
5. Do you have poor signal and frequent roaming? Do you use Roam Control to rectify the constant signal searching?
6. Is your task killer an auto killer?
Answer me, and I'll answer you
well im not using a rom... i want to try to find the best rom for a extended battery. and i dont use any widgets just a clock one. i get about 10-12 hours on the regular battery if im lucky...im gettin about 18-20 on this one...i jus think i could get more
and yes i have roam control and i use task killer

OK, this is simple math...1500mAh battery is stock, you get 10-12 hours. 2800 mAh battery is only 87% higher which equals 18-20 hours. This is only true if it is a true 2800 mAh battery...so count your blessings.

Well you can try the Syndicate Rom Frozen I'm on, it's referenced in my signature. Only use your task killer manually. On auto-kill it will use battery to constantly run, and will kill services which immediately restart anyway. I use Advanced Task Killer manually by its widget, which, combined with my Power Control widget, are the only two widgets I have confirmed are not battery drains. This includes Pandora, Music player, Wifi Tether , Tesla Flashlight, and ES Task Manager widgets.
Moving on, Low brightness when possible, Google Sync off, unnecessary apps found to be running in the background removed. Google Wifi and GPS locations off, you want none of that. DRM and SNS services frozen by Titanium Pro or MyBackup Pro if unneeded (yes those apps are not free, but worth it!). Mostly black wallpapers use less power due to the nature of Super AMOLED screens (the pixels are effectively off when black). Do not use Juice Defender. VisionKernel 1.1 may be helpful. Do not use setcpu, stick with the Dev's stock settings, I'm sure you'll be happy :-D.
If I think of any major steps I've taken that I'm forgetting I'll be back lol. I think I may end up making a new thread on this with a list of my steps and setup.

Well I'm that guy on youtube abd I believe I at that time I was on syadicateROM Froyo with a 1.3Mhz OC'd Kernal...now what saves on most of my battery life is underclocking while the screen is off to a max speed of only 600mhz...since about 75% of the time your screen is off...those numbers were for about the 1st 3 months with the battery....now I'm averaging from at least 30 hours to around 50 sometimes 60...but no more 3+ day stretches...and I make sure to condition my battery on a regular basis...because I did go through a major sump in performance jut like you are with around only 18 or so hours...a few (like 3) calibrations got me right back up to where I was at with hours unplugged....I think I talked about this in one of my video's...hope this helps fellas

When I switched to ec05, my battery life went to crap. I now have the yoobao 2800 and with syndicate frozen and a few tweaks I now get around 24 hours moderate to heavy usage. 48 hours or more with light/idle usage.
On the other hand I'm lucky to get 8 hours out of my stock battery with light usage. I can literally sit and watch the srf battery meter draining every minute the screen is on. I'm thinking my stock battery may have gone bad.
The extended battery makes my phone huge. But theres nothing better than being at a conference talking on the phone constantly and still having 30% left at the end of the evening. While all the other evo's n blackberries n such are crying that their phones are dying by happy hour...
I'm not a heavy user, but I regularly get 30+ hours with 2.5 - 3 hours of screen on time off of a 1500MAH battery using SRF frozen.
You could have one of several issues:
1. Gallery app sensor issue.
2. Airplane toggle issue
3. phone not sleeping properly.
Any of them can severely impact battery life. If you look at your screen on time and you are regualrly at 2-3 hours screen on time in 12 hours then that is about right I would say.
I am a light to medium user and I get 40-55 hours of life out of my extended grant you my back ground is mostly black. Only widget I run is sense analog glass clock which pulls the weather every 15 minutes, I have task killer auto kill on, set cpu set to ondemand 10000 and 1000 which I believe is stock I was playing with it for a few still am (I just modified this to 13000 - 1000 set to performance so stay tuned for a update), Avg, wifi is usually on i forget to shut it off and gps is always on. I am using Frozen 1.1 with Vision kernal 1.1. Hope this helps. Don't forget to calibrate your battery I found that it does help to let it drain fully once after the calibration.
**********************************
Update well I have been testing since I first posted I am now getting about 18-24 hours but my usage has gone way up to high like 200 to 400 txt a day plus now using winamp cuz my music player died. Playing music for over 2 hours a day also poor signal strength at home so always have wifi on. Not sure what modem I am using not sure how to find that out either. Also my Setcpu is set to 1300 - 100 ondemand it didn't like having any other setting. I also turned journaling on which might not help the battery life.
EC05 suck your battery? Flash the EB13 modem. http://k0nane.info/rom/acs-eb13-modem.tar
I have this same battery and I have google and AOL email syncing every 30minutes, brightness on full, 6-7 widgets, 3 of which run constantly, and usually have pandora running most of the day, spotty signal, and data on all day...
I get 52-58 hours every charge with all this running, and an average of 4-6hours screen on time...
Also, when I put it on the charger i never let my battery get below 12% usually it goes back on after 55hours @ 16-21% left
Maybe I am lucky?
Running AOSP rom
ur lucky...cuz i have had this battery for about 2 weeks now and im starting to get about 24-26 hours of life...maybe the battery needs to be broken in cuz its increasing
Hey guys. I've been noticing a while that a lot of people on the forums get 12+ hours even on heavy web browsing, calling, apps, and texting. I usually can't get through a day of usage (probably 12 hours?) with my phone, and I carry 2 extra batteries with me. I calibrated my battery using the battery calibration app here on XDA and my screen is set on auto. I'm on Syndicate v. 1.1.1 and I use the stock battery.
It will usually last me 3-4 hours of 'heavy' usage (calls, games, texts) and maybe 5-7 hours of 'moderate' usage (when I'm at school, some texting, barely any internet usage, and a few calls)
Are there things that can 'harm' a battery? Some people say it's bad to charge a phone and use it at the same time, but I call people while its plugged in multiple times every day (probably a couple hours worth a day). Does that deteriorate the battery?
I'll post a screenshot of my battery usage tomorrow if that helps.
(note- I am a calling freak. So far I'm about 3/5 in my billing period and I've used 10,580 minutes. )
The charging and using not so much but letting it repeatedly drop low and get hot kills it

the one thing i would do to extend your battery life would probably be to take the screen setting off of auto and manually set it to the lowest brightness you can tolerate.
are you using the twilight zone 1.1.1 kernel? try using the genocide 1.0 seems to give me better mileage imho
I have noticed this even with my extended battery. I am actually going back to 1.1.0 with Vision kernel to test.
Phone calls kill this batter no matter what. Our specs for talk time is 4-6 hours I don't remember
So 3-4 hours on heavy usage is normal if I'm doing excessive calling?
Some days I have a 5 hour battery, some days I have a 20 hour battery - all depends on how I use the phone.
On the short days I use it a lot, I'm throwing attachments around in Gmail, files around in Dropbox, using 4G, and using my phone outdoors - read brightness up.
On the long days I'm using Juice Defender and Screen Filter - read brightness down - I'm mainly texting and powering the screen off asap, and getting in the occasional fb/tw check, and I'm hanging out in areas with stronger Sprint service.
My advice for elongating your battery - use Juice Defender and customise which the data controls by app. Use Screen Filter at about 60% and manual display brightness. Slide your finger left and right along the window shade to keep the brightness down. With the SAMOLED the more dark colours on the screen the longer the battery will last, so always pick dark themes on apps. If you're going to be in a low service area for a while toggle data off if it's an option.
Lastly, I picked a Zagg Sparq for this phone. I charge the Sparq in once or twice a week and then I plug my phone into it on the go on those days when I have trouble. Use the General port instead of the Optimized one. I played the multiple battery game with my G1..I prefer carrying around a juice box.

Currently using latest calk rom I get about 2 hours using my phone for browsing thr internet at home. When 3g is turned on it drains even faster.
It has always been like this. If the phone is set on idle without 3g and wifi it lasts about 10 hours.
also it takes about 3 to 4 hours to fully charge, i feel this is too long.
so any rom that might help me? is the battery faulty?

Blazer ROM
why are you using your phone to browse all day long ? use a pc or a tablet. its a phone not a desktop pc. plus put it into airplane mode and then turn wifi on, it disables the cel/data radios hence the battery last longer. If your phone takes 3-4 hours to charge from 0-100 something is wrong with it. turn if off and charge it, cuts down charging time A LOT !
That is ridiculous. But I've been using Blazer Rom for about 2 weeks now and I always get 30 hours+ battery life. I just got 3.8 and I hit over 40 hours just this weekend.
well, um, wow, those are some ... great suggestions...
you might have a bad batt, sure.
i would think it is likely something else though.
a few things off the top of my head.
is this on a "clean install"?
is there some app you have loaded that might be pinging/updating constantly? (I'm on the exact same rom, getting all day at least)
what modem are you on?
did you flash a custom kernel?
do you know how to take a screenshot of battery usage? show us what processes are eating it?

Nice miracle rom, bet I could kill your phone in 6 hours using it . I get 20-30 hours on my days off. But no rom will make up for the amount of use one can put into their phone.

Idk about 40 hours (WOW!) but I do get around 3-4%/hour battery drain so it's not bad at all.
Try re flashing the ROM. That sounds abnormally for ANY rom.

It could be a bad ROM (bad install, not the ROM itself), but don't presume that's the case.
Measuring whether the phone is draining appropriately is difficult to do when it's in active use (e.g., 2 hours of browsing) ; thus most people measure effective drain by measuring the drain rate when the phone is 'sleeping' -- though in some cases a bad app or bad install will prevent the phone from sleeping.
I would recommend charging the phone to full, leave all default radios on (GPS/Wifi/3g), and let it sit for an hour or two. If you're losing more than ~3-5%/hour, then you have a problem.
Tools you can use:
- CPU Spy - Will show you whether your phone is entering Sleep state or not
- Battery Monitor Widget Pro - will measure your mA drain rate; during sleep, you'd want it to be at least below 20mA, ideally below 10mA (note, this app requires a couple of charge/discharge cycles before its measurements are reliable).
- Better Battery Stats -- If you find your device is NOT sleeping, this will help you figure out what applications (including the kernel) may be preventing the device from sleeping.

Your point? I could kill my phone in 6 hours too, but why would I want to do that? I play games all the time when I'm out at work or just out in general and I still get over 24 hours of battery. I never use my phone when I'm at home, that's what I have my tv and computer for.
how long has it been since you flashed? Maybe it needs a few cycles to settle. Do you have any wake lock issues? get betterbatterystats app, free for xda members, to check for kernel or partial wake locks.
I'm on BlazerROM 3.7 and getting about 1% every 2 hours on idle. It took me a week to see the battery life i'm getting now. My wife is on calks 2.8.1, I don't know what shes getting but when she gets home from work, she's still around 50%. On stock, she was typically around 30% already.
how do you get betterbatterystats for free as an xda member?
I'm on blazers and i'm at 79% battery at the 7hr mark on battery.

I have seen this "mystery battery drain" problem in other threads. There is usually an app responsible. Try Watchdog, its not bad.
I also have heard that SD card or file errors can be responsible for the drain. Formatting the memory takes care of the problem. If it were me, I would format the memory, then run chkdsk (Windoze, or the equivalent in another OS) to mark bad sectors. In the case of internal memory, you will have to do that through the USB cable. Do so at your own risk, of course

The point is you walk into someones situation and act as if their usage of the device on whatever rom your on is going to produce a parallel experience. One of the biggest factors no matter the rom is screen brightness. If you spend most of your time out doors the experience is completely different even with the same usage patterns otherwise. I love screen brightness personally, haptic feedback is nice too who cares about the battery when the experience is better?
I have games on the phone, GTA III, MC2/3, Dead Space, etc. I don't actually play them. I remote into my PC, browser the web. I have a TON of apps that use the phone idle/background. I keep steam and im+ pro going. I let TEP ping GPS data every 10 minutes. Weather widget, google voice, etc. I even have Samsung Apps installed with its oh so horrible push service that apparently rapes peoples batteries... cant say it hurts at all.
Today was a day for me where my boss was around so I couldn't use the device much and when i did it meant leaving things like a remote client on because I couldn't touch it to turn it off. 52% battery was left after 12 hours so it obviously was going to survive the 16 hours I am awake, going to sleep now so it would easily last 24 hours. But the battery being Li-Ion and me actually caring about it, its going on the charger. Tomorrow could be 30 and the next day will probably be 8 hours.
As far as the topic is progressing. Check your apps and your settings. Ive had battery life so bad the phone died on the charger. Same rom, same apps slightly different setup later and I am getting good to acceptable and that constant wake this guy is probably getting is gone.
If your using a lot of push apps, you're battery becomes nothing more than a decoration, lol. Apps like aim, kik, basically all the chat ones. Games like words with friends. The more apps you have checking for updates on top of heavy usage with kill your battery fairly efficiently

Which personally was part of the issue before on my setup. I still have them going again and battery life is decent. I mean Id want 16 hours out of a phone surely whatever my day is Ill have it on a charger by bed time.
I personally usually get 12 hours or more on days Im not using it constantly, 6 to 8 if I am using it every waking second. 24+ on days off. Haven't tried blazer in particular myself yet but Calks seems manageable even for demanding use.
Hey, im on Telus so i dont have any other modes I can switch to to lower the drain. Ive noticed my battery drain is HORRENDOUS
Over the past 4 hours ive dropped 60%!
Now im wondering if im just running too many apps or if my stock battery may not be holding a proper charge anymore, and wanted to compare with others to see if others are running the same amount of apps and getting better battery or what
Ive got the following on:
Trillian (IM app)
K9-mail checking 2 aps
Regular Sync (Twitter, FB, Dropbox, Google(Calendar, Gmail, Contacts)
The battery usage summary seems to lie, 35% is the screen but only 13 minutes. Yet im at 40%
Android System at 20, Cell standby 13, Phone Idle 8
While heading to work, i ran DI Radio(music streaming), and lost 20% over around 35 minutes.
Im using the Tuesday rom with it's default kernel.
Is there anything I can do for better battery, because I dont have wifi in most places, and im running 3-4 bars constantly yet the phone just drains rentelessly. Even my Mugen battery was only lasting 16 hours...
It's quite possible that it's the ROM. I used to always get 8 hours on a single charge, regardless of location or ROM. I'm running Eugene's CM7 and I'm getting 13 hours on the same typical usage.
I'm running on Telus as well, with no wifi at all.
Although I am not running all of your apps, I would still consider myself a moderate to heavy user.

any syncing or usage of the network will take a drain. any usage.
you can always turn on airplane mode and let it sit a few hours and see the drain, that determines whether its network or a ROM/kernel drain.
But yes, using 4G has big battery cost
Battery Life
I will tell you what, I have wasted so many hours playing with different ROM's and what not to find the one with the best battery life. And I will tell you what, the DARKSIDE:IGITAL::WARFARE ROM's out do any other ROM out there. I dunno what it is that thederekjay is doing, but Samsung should get this guy on pay roll because his work is the best.
I'm at hour 8 today on Darkside Digital Warfare, and 70% free from 8am to 4:30pm. I have push corporate email, automatic brightness, friendcaster push, and a slew of accounts and it runs like a champ with amazing battery.
Make sure your phone is going into Deep Sleep as often as possible when screen is off. My phone seems to be extremely picky in regards to which charger it likes and more often than not (even had this happen on the stock charger) the phone refuses to sleep after being charged (even if only for a few seconds...).
Download CPUSpy from the market and after each charge, go to CPUSpy, press menu and Reset Totals (phone cannot enter Deep Sleep during charging so it's important you start fresh after a charge to get accurate sleep time). Turn the screen off for a minute or two and turn it back on. Press menu again and Refresh Totals. In my experience, if the phone is not sleeping at this point - Deep Sleep showing in Unused States - then it will not sleep all day and remain in 384Mhz for hours, killing the battery rather quickly. From then, if I plug the phone in a supported charger (even for a second) and disconnect, Deep Sleep resumes normally. Rebooting always fixes it too.
If, like me, a lot of people also have this problem with the stock charger as well, I bet many are dissatisfied with the battery performance... The phone is supposed to spend the majority of it's time in Deep Sleep. I get this issue with several different chargers and cables and on different ROMS / kernels (including stock... go figure).
Im pretty sure its the signal itself draining it. It uses sleep for at least 40% of the time its on. I use my phone a good amount, but its the fact that if it sits on 4g even with the screen of, its rapidly draining during this time. ive even reset timers and left it sitting for an hour and itll be in sleep but lose 8% over an hour just doing nothing. I still wanna be able to recieve notifications tho so turning off data isnt an option. I will test turning off data anyways to see if the drain stops.
The battery drain is all those persistent internet apps running. That is what you call heavy usage. Trillian and the FB app being the two biggest. Music streaming would be up there as well if you aren't in good signal area. Look at your battery stats and see what your signal strength is.

I haven't seen a battery life thread for the AT&T S3, so I'll start one.
Mine is around 13 hours with moderate use. I listen to podcasts for an hour in the morning (commute to work), read Pulse News and Facebook for about an hour at lunch, and listen to another hour of podcasts for the commute back home. By the time I get home, I'm around 13% life. I usually get the battery warning while listening to my podcast. In comparison, my GNex GSM gets 17 hours with the same use pattern. When I get home, I'm usually around 37%. Besides Samsung's and AT&T's bloatware, same apps, no widgets.
All told, I am very disappointed with battery life. I don't believe in underclocking my CPU in or disabling haptic feedback. I use the "Power Saver" mode, but only use the reduced screen power consumption feature (reduces framerates and brightness). WFI is always off (I don't have WIFI at work). I also disabled all of the Motion features. I disabled S-Voice (it monitors for the Hi Galaxy, and disabling also allows for a very responsive Home button).
I calculated my idle battery drain (unplugged when fully charged and not touch it) at around 4.4% per hour. That only gives 22.7 hours of standby! My Galaxy Nexus GSM can go at least 2 days (sometimes I forget to charge it at night on the weekends - also not used the phone).
Is it AT&T's LTE? Is it the Gsiff_daemon process? Is it TouchWiz? Or is it just my phone?
What's your battery life like?
You pretty much hit it right on the head. I had the extended battery from Samsung on my Gnex and could easily get 20 hours with moderate usage.
This phone despite using CM10 or AOKP with the JB kernel I never see battery life that good. I'm in the 14-15 hour range with about 3 hours of screen on time. That's with wifi off, and we don't have LTE yet. All in all, it isn't very good.

Stock? What features do you have turned off? Do you use WIFI exclusively? Do you turn off your data network (LTE/HSPA)? Did you turn off Sync?
I don't use WIFI, and I leave my data on (as it should be - just like I had it on my GNex). I also leave sync on. I understand that using these decrease battery life, but come on... not like this. The GNex faired very well, and it had a smaller battery. Besides LTE and an S4 (and the S4 should be more power efficient), there isn't much different between the GNex and the S3.
If I turn on the screen for 8 hours, there won't be enough for sleep time! It'll just die... if it even makes it to 8 hours...
20+ hrs with multiple accounts syncing at 1 to 2hr intervals, screen on time of average 4hrs. Heavy use. Wifi on all the time.
stock, rooted, debloated, super-aggressive power management I was getting maybe 12 hours with 2 hours screen time.
I saw you didn't believe in underclocking, but I started using Cpu Editor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798765 and am loving it, can do 16 hours and 4 hours of screen time with no problems, will do the trick for me.

That's nearly impossible. What's your setup? Fricken hate it when people post battery life without explaining what their setup is.

My battery life with stock battery sucked too. Att signal sucks where I leave and waste 30% battery in that alone everyday. I got the Hyperion extended battery and loving it. Currently at 70% when usually I would be at 45-50%.

I hate to be "that guy" but I have a hard time believing anything close to this is even possible. Can you show us a pic of your battery stats?
Just use cpu tuner, It has profiles for each level of battery life so it gradually slows down your cpu's. You can get performance and bat' life.
Check it out
my battery drains a lot when i'm on wifi even when my screen isn't on. I get on average 14 hours running 1.4 GHz
You have a faulty radio.
I consistently get 40+ hours off charger with 4-5 hours screen on time with a couple hours of browsing, 3-4 hours of music, texts, an hour of calls or so, playing casual games for another hour.
Stock. No hacks. No root. Disabled all unnecessary carrier and samsung apps and disabled GPS unless i need it. Auto brightness, 2 hours sync for weathereye, flipboard and gmail syncing all the time. I do mostly use Wifi at home because my signal at home is bad and that quickly drains my battery. At work my phone idles for eight hours at a 2-3 % loss with 3G on (i use my old SIM, i do not have an LTE plan, I am on Rogers Wireless).

You consistently (or have ever got) get 40+ hours off charger with 4 to 5 hours of screen time? Do you have your phone hooked up to a car battery?
I just factory reset (wiped data and cache) the phone and installed the apps I need (maybe something was badly configured or something) - did that yesterday night. Charged it up for this morning, and now I got 18 hours and still have 17% left. Screen on time says 1:38 hours.
This is on the same stock rooted and deodexed ROM. No hotboots either, so gsiff_daemon didn't rear it's ugly head.
Also no CPU Sleeper or any of these underclocking apps. I'm happy now, but wondering wtf was causing the problem... and will it happen again (after all, this is only day one).
I'm getting about 13 hours with 5 and a half hours of screen time. Underclocked to 1.2ghz and I have my own screen off profile. Great battery in my opinion

Phone finally died. Just over 19 hours. Heavy use towards the end because I was downloading and installing the rest of my apps from Google Play & Amazon App Store. Was also setting the apps up ( accounts, settings, and notifications...). Final screen on time was about 2 hours.
It's only been two days since I've had the phone, I've gotten about 14 hrs with roughly 3.5 hrs screen on time. I hate when I see people with 2 days off the charger and ridiculous screen on time. If you put the phone in airplane mode and ran just the screen you probably wouldn't last 10 hrs unless it was on low brightness. I had the Razor Maxx and I could get around 30 hrs usage with 4-5 hrs talk and 6 hrs screen on and that's the best battery life I've ever gotten on any phone with real usage.
I would like to get better stand by and more screen time out of this phone without getting an extended battery.

Nope. Stock battery. May be some of you have faulty batteries/radios/firmwares or run too much stuff at the same time.

No airplane mode. Cellular connection is always on even during the night. Only difference is at home i have wifi on instead of data.
Flipboard, weathereye and an appsales app syncing every 4 hours. Auto sync for google account and facebook. Automatic brightness. Almost all samsung and Rogers apps disabled (except for myaccount and a couple samsung apps) and motion disabled since i have no use for the gestures apart from being a novelty the first week.
No root. No hacks. I am actually amazed. This is the first android phone that has battery life on par with my iPhone 4 and the unparalleled smoothness. My HTC One X lagged, this never does even with a few apps installed now including games. I look at my iPhone and think "why do i still keep it? It is no longer relevant".
Ive got my UV tweaked just right on my ktoonez kernel and keeping my screen level as low as can be and I'm now practically making it to TWO days battery life! Plug in every second afternoon or evening after moderate use. Occasionally it doesn't last as long. Quite happy now. Oh and that's with this baby cranked to 1.809Ghz! But obviously tweaked to use that under strain otherwise using lower clocks and deep sleeping with 384mhz.
Got a 4200mah extended battery on way and can't wait to see how much I can squeeze out of it too.

My GS3 i747m lasts around 50-55 hours per charge cycle..
It is running stock Rogers GS3 ICS, not rooted, all stock. Battery is stock as well.
Not using LTE, using HSPA+ ("4G") with data turned ON with Sync turned OFF
(**NOTE: sometimes, the battery is drained due to poor reception, and the phone will use more power for the cellular signal.. In my case, my 3G connection in my area seems alright for the most part, about 1 bar less from full)
Power saving is turned ON. WiFi powersave is turned ON.
Moderated WiFi usage in 2.4ghz 802.11g-mode only.
Every night when I go to sleep, my flight mode is turned ON. (I sleep around 9-10 hours everyday, so the phone stays on flight mode for 9-10 hours a day)
In the morning, I turn the flight mode OFF.
Bluetooth, GPS both are turned OFF
Screen brightness turned 1/4 brightness
LED notification turned OFF
Also, I have a task killer killing ALL BACKGROUND SERVICES every half hour.
Without killing all the background apps, my RAM usage is around 600-700 MB out of 1.6 GB of RAM
Killing all the background apps brings the RAM usage to around 360 MB of 1.6 GB
Without killing background apps, my battery life is shortened even when the phone is on standby.
Do this, and your battery life is pretty good..
