I notice that it was possible to change the mms.apk in froyo to the old 2.1 style.... Was wondering if anyone could do the opposite and make froyo style for 2.1 eclair?
Thanks in advance for any help

Not just buggy, laggy (browser is a pain, universally) and not so great, it broke my orientation sensor as well. Back to 2.1 for me.

Laggy? Man you both need to return your Epics. This Froyo rom flies on my phone and I just installed a modified stock browser from the i9000 and no more browser issues! Besides I also use Xscope browser which rules!

I think they have an updated 2.2 capable droid 2 multi touch keyboard posted in the apps /themes section too. I don;t know if you've tried that one but most people seem to be reporting good success with it.

hi is there a way to get the suggestion box to come back up like froyo by double tapping?
thanks
Not sure what you issue is. Swype is the same on Froyo as on Gingerbread, as far as I know. The suggestion box is now presented horizontal, instead of vertical as of Swype version 3.0.

The swype you get from swypebeta is different. But if you are using the stock gb that has swype built in its no different.
Just pull from froyo and push to gb

So the OP is talking about the built-in Swype, which I believe is only offered with the T-Mobile ROMs? It would help if the OP mentioned what ROMs he was talking about, carrier, etc.

Is it possible to completely remove sense UI for a sense Rom to become aosp? I recently used a desensify script on a Rom but sense is still there. I'm guessing rosie is no longer there, I'm using another launcher now. The widgets and lockscreen are gone too. The contacts, messages, camera, and other behind things are still there.

Why not just run a aosp rom if that's what you're trying to achieve anyway?

I've had problems with video chatting on other aosp roms. I figured I'd have a better chance in removing sense on a Rom that video chatting does work on.

You can remove sense. If you do this, you'll have a 'senseless' ROM. You have to put a launcher on it and you'll need to find alternative widgets, etc.
I used to do this. I liked that I could have whatever launcher I wanted but still have the sense camera and dialer.
Also, the ROM flies even faster once you get little miss Rosie out of the picture...
BTW, the only aosp that I've tried with functioning Skype is miui.
But nowadays I stick to Sense ROMs mostly

This is what I tried but not sure if it took it out completely. I want my battery last longer than sense roms at least almost like aosp roms.

First install a third party launcher set it as default then with root explorer go to system\apps and delete rosie that's it
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
After I had installed my launcher of choice, I used a file explorer to clean out the ROM as I saw fit.
I doubt its truly necessary to clean out anything deeper than apk's.
Delete Rosie and the sense Widgets basically.

So nothing deeper than apk's. Why is that? Just curious. Also what I I wanted to use an aosp version of something? Would I just replace the apk's? So this would be considered "senseless" right?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Well I checked via root explorer and I didn't find rosie or the widgets. I guess after running that program I mentioned earlier it removed them. Now I just to delete any lingering ones, if they're any.

Does removing rosie have any farther-reaching effects than just not having the Sense launcher?

Well I believe better battery life but I have yet to test it. I think less memory or RAM is used but don't quote me on that. The more knowledgeable people might answer that. This is what I got with light use and being on WiFi the while time. I'm going to try to moderate use and on 3g to see what I get.

I meant more in the line of if any of the other functions of the phone change. If I remove rosie, for instance, will HTC's dialer still work the same, will I be able to use HTC's People app, etc., or will those things not function without rosie?
