This is the third time I have had this problem. Randomly my phone slows down to a halt, the data connection does not work, most setting icons take 10 minutes to load if they do at all yet my texts still work.
There are NO apps running in the task manager.
I have removed most of my programs.
My mods are just removing the TF3D crap, nothing serious.
My stock task manager icon is missing from the top right.
and when I rebooted the phone I would get two errors, one with opera and the other with ~pcom-something.exe"
The other times I reset to unit to "factory out of the box" but I am sick of resetting up the phone with my apps, mods and such.
Has anyone seen this before?
What rom do you have on your phone ? What do you mean by removing all the tf3d crap? And have you flashed different roms without using task29 in between? It sounds like its time to task29 and reflash.
Sorry, I removed the TF3D stuff with mostly registry edits. I am still on a stock 6.1 rom.
Well, it could be pretty work-intensive to try and track down exactly whats causing your slowdowns and freezes, and since you have had to keep on hard resetting it, I would think that you dont really have much to lose by flashing a new rom. If you like the stock 6.1, you could just download it from the Windows Mobile Rom Developement subforum. Alls you would have to do is hard spl your phone and then flash it, it should take less than an hour start to finish, including downloading the rom.
Also:
My stock task manager icon is also missing from the top right.
and when I rebooted the phone I would get two errors, one with opera and the other with ~pcom-something.exe"
I can set this back to a stock ROM with the phone itself and I have all my apps on my card. Doing all the registry things is a pain only because I did not memorize them... YET, haha.
Is there a better task manager to see whats eating up resources?
If you're running the ROM that actually came stock on the Tilt II, then the hot fixes for the issues you are describing can be found here on HTC's website.
http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/downloads/
I'm on verizon, will it matter?
Mother F-er.
Just rebooted to try and get the errors again and instead got this:
"The device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tired to install an application from untrusted source.
Press Volume Up to reset your device or press any other button to cancel.
The operation will delete all of your personal data and restore the device to it's factory default settings."
I guess my decision is made, but wow I am not happy. This phone may go into a lake.
... edit:
Volume up does not do anything. AWEsome.
Yeah it matters, here are some Hot fixes for you're touch pro II. Don't know if they will help ya though: http://www.htc.com/www/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=250&act=sd&cat=all
I took the battery out again and put it back in. Same message and the volume up did not work again.
So I pressed volume up about 100 times then held down the power button. Nothing changed.
Then.... I slide open the keyboard and closed it. Put the unit down and about 45 seconds later I heard all 100 volume up presses in a row. The stock WM volume menu was over the windows boot screen, and then the task bar showed up. Then the unit shut off and rebooted but took forever. It looked normal , but SLOW.
Now:
"A problem has occurred with Opera9.exe"
then:
"A problem has occurred with cprog.exe"
WTF is going on. I have not installed/uninstalled ANYthing for weeks.
set the phone to factory defaults last night and changed everything back. Meh.
Thanks for the ideas guys and I will be doing those "hotfixes" very soon!
Cheers,
Dan
Well, this phone is doing it yet again.
It barely works.
everytime I press something it takes between 5 seconds and 1 minute to do it.
i have no signal
most programs do not even try to start
resets change nothing (done this about 100 times today)
What the hell is going on with this phone? This was just as random. Was working as normal until around noon and then it just slowed way down and I could not make calls or answer them.
Grr.
so:
when I reboot the phone, I have the green start up screen for ~5 minutes.
the phone does not work after it fully starts up.
I can not open "remove programs"
I do not have the task manager in the top task bar, but when I go into settings and open task manager, there is nothing running.
I run "cleanRAM" on level 3 and there is no change.
It is still very slow I have not installed anything new at all, so this sudden change reasoning is unknown. This may be my last windows phone as I am growing tired of these random major failures.
Well verizon sent me a new phone.
*PHUCK*, its WM6.5 and I hate it.
i tried to update the stock firmware from v10s to v20g by flashing. Afterwards, there is no signal and when I try to exit my lock screen the screen goes black and says " application settings process com.android.settings has stopped, please try again". All I can see is my status bar and I have no signal whatsoever.
Is my phone completely bricked?
you flashed using kdz?
which rom did you used?
It might be the case that you loose your baseband.
I also suppose that you dont have any nandroid backup.
Dont worry it will be sorted.
Just reflash it again using the same.
If it doesnt works then flash it using stock froyo.
Hey thanks for replying, I just rebooted and it fixed it.... lol
But the problem im facing now is the battery draining rapidly... i just surfed the web with wifi for about 15 mins and talked on the phone for 10 minutes and in three hours, the battery dropped about 25%.
Whats weird is the cell standby is consuming more than 40% of that

Known issue. Open phone, type *#*#4636#*#* to get the service menu, select Phone Information, push menu button, choose "Select Radio Band" and accept the force close crash, then go back into "Phone Information" and scroll down to "set preferred network type," change it to anything else, then back to "CDMA auto (PRL)." You can exit out now and your battery should last a long time. It seems like a long process and you have to do it every time you reboot, but it goes pretty fast once you're used to it.
Thanks legion, I'll try that....
Theres also another issue i found today, The phone seems to be using up the internal memory for no particular reason after I run apps and close them. I use appcleaner to clear my cache and also cleared my browser cache/history/forms.
I went from 96mb this morning to 75mb right now.... I haven't installed anything except removing a 200kb app........so weird
EDIT: Oh geez, just reboot and i regained 20mb.... probably a reading error on the internal memory....bleh
I have one last question though... I've been having this problem since 2.2.1 >> after every reboot, the i have no service/sim till 15 minutes later.... weird... my phone is unrooted btw
thanks!
Hi everybody... I've been using my HTC One X happily for going on 3 months now, and just out of the blue I had the weirdest thing happen. I was just cruising the internet when I lost my WIFI connection, so I go into settings to see what happened and it just says not in range(it was defiantly in range), so then I turned WIFI off, and back on and nothing. So I did a restart. It got worse. The WIFI kept saying connecting, authorizing, searching, connecting, authorizing, searching, continuously never actually connecting. So I tried restarting again. Now, the WIFI works right, but everything else is completely screwed up. I was running APEX launcher, and widget locker, and APEX launcher keeps closing randomly, so i thought well something got messed up there when i restarted so i took it off and re-installed. Nope. Still does it, so then i just took it off and its still having issues. Every time I exit an app or hit home, I get a loading thing and it takes forever to go to the home screen. I tried doing a factory reset and it won't go to the boot menu. It just starts up and then says its recovered from an error and asks if i'd like to send an error report. What the heck is going on with my phone? It's not even hardly usable the way its acting and I can't even reset the stupid thing.
a little more info about your configuration may be helpful. Is your one x stock with a locked bootloader or are you running a custom rom?
Sounds like corrupt data somewhere.
If a factory reset doesn't solve it, try flashing the RUU.
turn your router off and back on, mine did this with a Sky router at my friends house. Worked fine after.
Hi everyone,
I'm running into what seems to be a common issue with this phone - getting a no service error. This started happening after I turned my phone on this morning, and I don't recall changing anything that could have caused this.
When I look at the testing menu, the network status flickers between no service and emergency calls only. The network mode defaults to "Unknown", and when I try to change it to anything else it will return back after a second. The radio status is set to off, and if I click the button to turn it on, it does not appear to do anything. I've tried rebooting my phone several times, pulling the battery, reseating the SIM card, clearing the cache, but nothing I've tried so far seems to work.
Is there anything I can do that minimizes destruction (clearing all data or doing a reflash) to get this working?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I'm not sure what I just changed, although my phone decided to connect to the network... Huh!
Hello,
I have spent many hours attempting to solve the ongoing problem of the wifi button not responding but remaining gray when touched. Here is a quick chronology of symptoms and attempted fixes. I love everything else about the phone, especially the size, but am close to throwing my hands into the air. If anyone has any suggestions as to a Rom that may finally fix this, please let me know!
Wifi worked fine on phone for about 6 months, then became unreliable, not connecting after being out of range and coming back into range of wifi stations. I was usually able to force it to come on by a reset, pulling battery, turning off mobile data and calling *#0011# and turning wifi power saver off and on several times.
After this would no longer work, I rooted phone with CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar.md5 , was able to use wifi for a day or two, then nothing would force it on.
Tried multiple custom roms, including CM11 kitkat and CM12 Lollipop, same results, I would originally get wifi to fire up and connect, but after a day or two max, nothing.
Have flashed stock kernel for modem, nothing.
Took back of phone off, unplugged and plugged in blue antenna wire, nothing.
Recently flashed M919UVUFNH7_STOCK_ROOTED_DEODEX_KNOXLESS along with NH7_modem.tar.md5, wifi worked a little while, and as usual, wont respond to any resets, battery pulls, etc.
Thanks for any help you may be able to afford.
ive been having the same issue or a month or so now... cant seem to find a sulution anywhere. I too tried multiple roms, even the new 6.0 . I cant imigine its the wifi antennae because it works fine when it wants to... gettin frustrated with it.

I agree, flashing stock firmware is one of the first things that should be done in this case

I have a suggestion. Use the following link to get latest T Mobile firmware for the phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
Sometimes it takes flashing the firmware twice for the full install of the radio to take properly.
To begin, remove the back of the phone, because your going to remove the battery after the first flash.
Boot into download mode by holding the volume down and power.
Assuming you know how to use Odin, before starting the first flash, unchecked the auto reboot option.
After Odin has reached the point of RESET, unplug the cable, remove the battery... Replace the battery, reboot into Download mode and
repeat the process, leaving auto reboot checked this time.
You are now completely stock. Your data will be basically left untouched.
Good luck.

Have you tried cleaning the hardware contacts on the antenna? I remember this same scenario on my old HTC Desire... the antenna contacts were dirty IIRC and they needed cleaning.
Wow, so I am not the only one still facing this issue! I flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361 a few times and I eventually noticed the wifi issue as well.
Baseband: M919UVUF0H3
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2437203 [email protected] #1
Build number: KTU84P.M919UVUF0H3
Here's what I attempted:
1. Did a full wipe on the phone and installed full firmware 4.4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t3193835
2. Flashed stock kernel from the same link above
3. Installed SuperSU, flashed TWRP
4. Installed and ran TriangleAway to clear KNOX counter
Same issue as OP--at first wifi would work but the connection would not stick and I was unable to activate the wifi button anymore. I tried uninstalling KNOX but I get an error "Failed to create KNOX mode." When I reboot into TWRP, I get the message "E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)."
I discovered that my EFS folder is empty. I don't have a backup. Could this be related to the wifi issue? Am I screwed?
Finally got the wifi working. Took the white shell that covers the board off and cleaned the contact on the shell with a q-tip and isopropyl, but it looked kinda scuzzy so I scratched it a bit to expose bare metal again. Then I went to the board side and pulled up on the tiny piece of metal that springs to make contact, enough to bend it to a steeper angle for better contact. Wifi and BT working steady for over an hour now. Thought id share.

Heres a link with pics of the locations of the antennas
Edit:
though the wifi worked briefly after this, it stopped working shortly afterwards... back to square one...
