I installed CyanogenMod 6.1.0-RC1 on my Android 2.2.1 HTC Evo. I backed up everything using Nandroid and Titanium backup before flashing Cyan6. After flashing the ROM, I cannot find how to restore Titanium backup to Cyan6.
What am I missing here? I did a full wipe when I flashed the Rom. Titanium was wiped out in flashing but I kept a copy on my desktop.

After you open up Titanium Backup press the Menu button. Then, select "Batch" and you will be presented with a number of options. Look for "Restore Missing Apps with Data" and press "Run."
You will then be presented with a list of all your apps with checkmarks next to them. Choose "App Only" at the top, deselect anything you don't want installed on CM and press "Run Batch Operation."
IMPORTANT: Until you become familiar with Titanium I would advise against selecting "Apps with Data" in that final step. It is not uncommon that trying to restore the data causes problems.
Thanks,
It worked.

Say I am on a rom and want to switch to a different one. How do I backup just my apps from from [Rom A] and then reload them to [Rom B] after flashing? What selections do I choose within Titanium backup?
From [Rom A] I choose the middle button "Backup/Restore" then select Menu > Batch. Then select the Run next to "Backup all user apps". Is this correct?
Then after flashing a new Rom I go into Titanuim Backup and there is no option to just restore the 60 apps. Am I missing something?
Thanks
In Titanium (assuming you have paid version)
Menu | Batch
Backup all user apps + system data
root, wipe, flash rom, etc.
In new Rom, go to Market, download Titanium and open app
Menu | Batch
Restore missing apps with data
Restore missing apps + all system data (select data only as you already restored the apps...not sure if you can do this step in place of previous, but I'm superstitious and this is how I roll)
I would just do a backup of all apps and not the system info...some roms are tweaked differently and restoring the system settings could give you bad results.
I will give that a try, thanks for the replies!
another noobish question that I wasn't able to find an answer...
having installed CM7 RC1.5 and now I wanted to try with Nightly
however, I'm pretty pleased with how the phone is performing now and after flashing I want to restore all apps and data quickly.
Now, can anyone help me which option of Titanium backup should I use to do it the fastest way?
i thouhgt i would use it like this:
"backup of all system data"
"backup all user apps + system data"
then, after flash for restore
"restore missing apps + all system data"
"restore all system data"
is this the correct way?
are the phone contacts also backed up and restored with this?
thanks in advance for your help...
If you're only updating to a later nightly version, then just flash it. Nothing will be lost (Edit: If you follow exactly the "install nightly" part here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054447). But of course you may create a backup of your apps.
After using a while you may think of changing your stock ROM or Flash your phone with Odin. Or It may happen that you bricked your phone accidentally.
No matter what is the reason you should always at-least take backup of your apps, SMSs, Contacts and Call Logs everytime in your SD/Computer HDD.
So, here is the tutorial that gives you the easy instructions of how to take Backups & Restore your important things from your Android phone for FREE!

Nandroid backup
For ROOTED Users, you will
obviously have a Custom Recovery

all data right from this menu.......
There are many custom recoveries
available the most common one
being the ClockworkMod Recovery, Just boot into

Titanium Backup
Another option for rooted Android
users is Titanium Backup.
Titanium Backup gives you direct
access to your system. If you have
not used this program before
make sure to read all release notes
and methods of using the program
as mistakes can be made....
Once you’ve launched the app,
click on the Backup/Restore tab
and click the Menu button on your
phone. From the menu that
appears, select Batch. At the next
menu, click [RUN] Backup all user
apps + system data. You can
choose to backup just your user
apps and system data but you can
choose a complete and total
backup of your phone.
Depending on how much of your
phone you’ve chosen to back up,
the initial backing up process can
take anywhere from a few minutes
to half an hour or even more. Just
like a Nandroid backup, you can
opt to copy the backup file to your
computer. Navigate to the /
Titanium Backup directory on your
device’s SD card and you can find
your backup there, ready for
safekeeping.
When you’d like to restore your
backup, you can enjoy the same
Batch function. Select Menu >
Batch. On the Backup/Restore
menu, scroll down to find restore
options.

So my phone didn't go past the Cyanogenmod loading arrow (it just froze at one point, and then started again till next freeze) and I had to ''wipe data/factory reset'' and now phone functions OK, but before that I made backup from recovery screen. When i try to restore from recovery screen same thing happens and it wont go anywhere past the loading arrow. I'd like to know if it is possible to get my phone files back somehow from the backup?

I would like to mostly recover my ColorNote notes and vanilla calendar, had couple of important ones, but titanium backup says no backup yet.
I used this method to restore "Contract killer" game onto my newly flashed rom from a previously made clockworkmod/nandroid backup. & request u to strictly follow the steps in order & you'll be good to go:sly::
* Use titanium backup pro version.
Now,
* Install the two apps which u want to restore.
* After installing, take their backup via Titanium backup straightaway.
* Now, goto "Menu" & select "Extract from Nandroid backup".
* Select ur backup from which u want to restore.
* Now in the next screen: First tap on "Deselect all" button. Next tap on "Data only" button(to restore data of the apps). Then scroll to the two apps in the app list & mark tick before them.
* Now press "RUN" at the top of the screen to begin the restoration process.
* Done!!:victory:
Now u have ur apps with the important data!!
Hope this helps...!!
Any other app that does the same, but doesn't cost. titanium backup pro is like 5$.

If you want Titanium Backup Pro without spending money, you know where to find it :silly: . I can't tell you that as it is against xda rules.
BTW you can easily extract your data from backup archives on a PC.
Thank you all, got my stuff back, always backup!!
