So before I was able to get the permanent root my daughter was using my phone and installed the clock works mod custum recovery anyway to get the stock one back yet?

If you are trying to perm root what's the point of getting original recovery back If your trying to unroot then I know there's a link to the original recovery here at xda.
If you think your recovery is broken keep flashing it in rom manager until you only wait perhaps ten seconds from flashing to successful installation. Or just fastboot it in.
htc vision
Since the custom recovery has been flashed though I can't push anything to my phone using adb it says permission denied.

Hey guys, just rooted my G2, I followed the instructions closely and in the bootloader menu it says S-OFF. I can boot into the OS fine and I have root, but when I'm in the bootloader menu and trying to boot into recovery I get stuck on this screen with a triangle and a exclamation mark. I tried flashing clockworks recovery image, but still no good. Any ideas? Thanks.

Issue [SOLVED]
Yeah, sooo I just fixed it. All I did was reflash the radio image to the latest version then flashed clockworks recovery again and from clockworks rom manager app I was able to get into recovery with no problems. Give it a go, heres the link on how to flash just the radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836081
Cool ill give it a shot, appreciate the tip

Hey I was wondering if it would be possible to install clockworkmod recovery through rom manager on a temporary root I used androot on my friends slide and I was thinking if I used rom manager to install clockworkmod then tried to install a rooted rom strieght from rom manager that would give him full root

No it will not work. What happens is rom manager sets it to flash via the stock recovery on reboot, but it can't do that without the engineering bootloader, since the stock one doesn't allow self signed update packages such as clockwork to flash, while the engineering one does. You need to have full root to flash a recovery. And also, in case you didn't already know, the mt3gs is s-on so your recovery resets on reboot anyway, requiring you to flash a recovery every time you go to it. There's your answer haha

Yeah they really do. Good news though, we're about to get s-off. Alpharev is close.
Purchased a used G2 on ebay - phone was rooted and I believe CM7 installed - clockworkmod came up and I tried to install a custom rom and was only getting white HTC screen.
At this point I really just want the latest official gingerbread 2.3.4 on the phone (even if it means getting an original stock rom then getting the OTA update thru t-mobile). I don't care if its rooted or not. (Picture of HBOOT screen attached below)
What is the easiest and fastest way to do this from what I have on my phone at this point? If I just factory reset from this menu will I still have to get a stock a rom and put it on my sdcard?
Just flash the rooted version from the dev thread dude

Either that or if you don't care about root, flash pc10img of ota gb.

Root and s-off are two different things, s-off is what allows you to flash a new recovery, ROM, etc.
As for bricking, the one-click will probably brick your device which is why it's posted everywhere to not use it.
It will never brick it doing this. Brick is from flashing bootloaders etc which you won't be doing. If things go bad when flashing a rom just download a stock rom and flash that or start over etc. Read up on rom manager and clockwork mod recovery. I'm no pro but most roms have root baked in so when you flash the rom it will have root. Worst case when you flash rom you won't have root anymore but will be very easy to get

There is no recommended 'one click' root method for the DZ/G2. If you want to flash a custom ROM your best bet is to follow the wiki here.
My HTC Onc V wont go past the bootscreen, I tried flashing a new kernel which screwed everything up originally and now the phone wont show in adb but i can get into clockwork recovery. How do i make this phone work again/restore to stock
Dont worry.if you have made a nandroid backup, flash the kernel found inside it and then restore the backup.
R: [Q] Stuck in clockwork recovery
You probably have the radio problem and need to downgrade, there's a guide on how to do it. Anyway I'm not sure, it's just a suggestion
