Changing Language (norwegian)

Hi! Yesterday i bought my first HTC Touch Diamond P3700. I have never used any HTC cell phone. My problem. I live in Norway and this phone is in norwegian, but i want it to change to english. If I checked the ROM update, then it gives me only norwegian version. I'm thankful then somebody help me a little.

You have to update the rom to a WWE (world wide english) ROM. But you can change the language of the Manilla.

Thank you for answering. Can You tell me little more about it, what can i use or add any useful links. Because if i add my serial number to htc.com support, it gives me automatically norwegian version.

I read some threads, and the latest WEE official version was corrupt or somthing.
There are some Official Roms you can flash, though, i dont know if they are fast or not. I'm a Raphael user (Touch Pro). but read in the Diamond Rom development for good rooms.

If your are willing to "brake the warrenty" you could allways flash a coustom rom. And flash back to a origianal rom if you are sending it to service for a hw problem.

[Question] hard spl for stock rom?

Hi,
I just got a rhodium but its in dutch and i prefer english.
i,m about do a rom update to a wwe version.
i have done this dozens of times before, only one thing i don't remember.
Do i also need to perform a hard spl when i want to use a signed wwe rom?

sorry i have no idea on that one.
Why don't you use the vodafone uk rom, instead of the asia rom?
Since it'll keep all the vodafone stuff on your phone and will be in english.

Yes you have to HARD-SPL it. Sadly they even lock the language of the ROM. I tried to install an other language, but didn't work until I hard PSL it.

They have the latest rom version.
and the pro 2 is tmobile branded.. not vodafone..
as long as it is in english.. wwe

well.. i thought wwe ment english..
but i gues i was wrong..
its in asian characters now

[Q] / [REQUEST] CIME for Desire from ASIA RUU

Hi,
I'm an English Speaker from the UK. I would like to have my locale set for the phone to English (UK) but as I live in China, I really want to have the handwriting IME for the Desire.
It's included by default in the Asia RUU but that doesn't have UK English included.
Since I flashed the Asia RUU I'm having all sorts of problems with the Android market and I'm convinced its because of that.
I am looking for a kindly chef / experienced person to extract the CIME (handwriting) from the Asia RUU and give me an update.zip file so I can plug it into my WWE RUU flashed version.

why don't you try out LeeDroid??
It's got all Chinese input methods activated.
*BTW* I think It would help if you posted your software version to make dev's life much easier

Would like to root and try ARHD. However it runs WWE when mine is Asia ruu. So I want to check if Chinese would be there.

(Q) Desire HD on wrong region

Hi all. I recently had do downgrade my Desire HD to version 1.26 as I was on custom rom and wanted to go back to stock due to warranty issues. Then after I flashed the downgrade image I updated using the normal update method of the HTC menu. What happens now is that the firmware is on wrong region. It only lets me choose between English, French, Italian and Spanish on both UK and Ireland regions. I want Portuguese (Portugal) and it is not letting me even update to version 2.50 that I had before moving to custom roms.
Any help on how to change the region?

Well it seems like I found the problem, the CID was set to HTC__001 which is the UK one. I have found a post with the CID codes and I found for Portugal to be HTC__506 and so I set it to that code. And now I can choose Portuguese (Portugal) but another problem happens and that it doesn't detect updates. Is the firmware not correct to this CID setting?
