[Q] best extended battery for dinc - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to know the best extended battery for the dinc
The battery life is terrible as everyone knows, but there has to be few that are better.
The only quality one I've seen is this: http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoce...TF8&coliid=I16O9PYH6VHRAM&colid=3T9UU6Y0BT160
Any suggestions?
thanks

Well, I went to order the Verizon one today and its sold out now. That leaves the one you posted and the EVO one.

That one adds bulk. If that isn't an issue, then go for it. I use the Seido 1750 to keep the same size phone.

i like to stick with HTC batteries, as do many others I'm sure. i just got mine off amazon for 42 shipped, love it. verizon is sold out locally for me as well, and anyways, its 60 bux there lol.
/thread.

Have you all notice a dramatic change in the life with the verizon battery?

I was considering getting this extended battery; I know people grade the batteries with mAH numbers, but as mentioned above, have you noticed a significant increase in battery life compared to stock? Like something you could equate to %?

I use the Seido 1750 mAh battery as well. It gives me that little push that thenstock battery couldn't and it keeps the same form factor of the DInc because you can use the same battery door.

I too use the HTC 2150mAh battery. I changed it out and went back to stock and to a 1500mAh that I bought from HTCPedia (will be returning as it looks worn) but I always come back to the 2150. I didn't want to change the form factor of my DInc but the performance is 2nd to none. I think now it's time to get one of those cases from Seidio...

i'm still looking for good extended batteries

The 2150 is a great choice, used mine for months until I decided I wanted a sexier case. There is still a couple of case choices for the 2150 but they're limited.
Great battery life on it though, I honestly never worried about my battery life at all when I had it on.

no I'm using 1900mah. It still fits in stock covering but I can definitely tell a decrease in life, I just got it so I could put the siedeo active (white) case on it.

depends are you coming from stock battery? If you are then it's a very big step up in battery life.
Personal preference here, but the added weight and size suits the phone well- and with that black cover case it all goes together nicely. If you are particular about having your phone very thin and light then you may not want to get it.
Amazon looks like a great spot to pick them up:
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Incredibl...R0ZA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312953980&sr=8-1
I bought mine from amazon but they were in the 40-50$ range when I did, looks like they've dropped the price since then.

yeah, looking for somewhere cheap, hours being slashed down to 1 to 2 days at my job, and i can't easily afford that, as well as an 81 dollar bill (may end up on sprint soon if they are bringing wimax 4g here like they said.)

I have the 1500 evo 4g battery that I got right from Sprint. It pretty much destroys the stock 1300 inc battery. By destroy, I mean that I can get about 24 hours out of it if I charge it when I get home from work, wait until it's fully charged and then unplug it. So it's pretty much not doing anything overnight. I have the htc 2150 and it's just too damn big.

Seidio extended battery... IT'S COMING!

I know many of us have been anxiously waiting to see for an extended battery option from Seidio (or other reputable 3rd party), but nobody has announced one for the Captivate until now. Finally:
http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4411.htm
Unfortunately, no mention of price or when it will be released as it's currently "under development" but that they have added it to their store is exciting enough!
Yeah I just saw that too, and wow 3200mah is huge!
Do you think they will make a case for it? I have the body glove that was launched with the phone. I kind of like it. Has anyone purchased from these guys before? Any experiences to share. Did you buy a case? They made a huge battery for the EVO didn't they?
This means a battery about 2 times as thick as the current one, so expect a custom back with a bumpout for battery.
The Moto Droid 2800 extended battery is $69 so this one will be between $70 and $90 - I would rather have a spare battery or an external rechargeable charger for half the price. I would never make "The Captain" thicker. No pot bellies (or junk in the trunk) on my captain just a slim toned physique.
But Seido has always made a good product - usually they can take the current sized battery and squeeze a little more in - like an 1800mAh in the current size. I hope.
Has anyone actually tried to wrap their head around what this thing will look like?
Our fancy locking closure will either make this thing hideous or cause our phones to look like the back of an Incredible (which I don't mind personally, I liked the terraced back. It reminds me of the zen like nature of steppes carved into a mountain for hillside farming.)
Either way, I want one. I'm just actually trying to fathom the design, and what will happen to the sound quality being the speaker is built underneath the battery cover.
We'll see... I don't think it will be that bad, as the Evo battery only adds "5-6mm" to the phone and that is a 3500mAh battery. But given the option, I would prefer a battery in the range of 2200-2400mAh that only adds maybe 2-3mm. But beggars can't be choosers.
If they could crank out a 1800mAh "slim" battery that does not require a cover, that would be excellent as well. They have 1750mAh for the Incredible and Evo, so who knows.
I have one of their "big" 2600 mAh batteries for my old Bold 9000 and while it put hump in its back, it fit my hand great and having that extra power was fantastic. I'll get this when it comes out.
Im totally down for this hopefully they make the back tapered and not just a straight "step" up, I'm 6 foot 3 and consequently have large hands so I wouldnt even mind my phone being a lil bit thicker.

16 reviews for a company that has been selling accessories for many years (5 that i know of) is not much of a statistic.
I can tell you that, when I was a moderator for Qusers, many people bought from Seido and never had a problem. that doesn't mean there is no problem, but everyone I know that has bought from Seido was satisfied. Their products are regularly review by major blogs, and amazon shoppers give their cases 4.5/5.
I have shopped at hundreds of sites and never filled out a review for resellerratings - so I am not sure that they are the best source for any information.
From my knowledge of the company I would not hesitate to buy from them. if they put out a 2000mAh battery that is the same size as OEM, i will buy it in a second.
I would rather leave the internal battery in place and add a accessory cover with a priority battery slot. The internal battery might have to be replaced with one a mm or two shorter to allow room for the internal battery disconect. With an internal secondary and external primary, the phone could remain in operation during battery changes. Yes, this would add a hump, but I think the phone would fit my hand better...
mm.. I really rather have the same size format but a little more juice to it..1800mAh
how much more juice would that be compared to the standard 1500 :O

I have Seidio batteries for my Canon DSRL camera and it works just as good as the original one.
Anyone know of any extended life battery for this phone yet. This is insane this phone has been out a while there should be somethin. I saw the vibrant has a 3000mah, bout to get that and just stick it in without the back cover and throw a silicon case over to hold it in. Saw that amzer has a 1600 but thats almost not worth it.

Who proof reads these things?
"Samsung launches the Power Pack EBB-U10 for the Galaxy S i9000 in Germany. The Power Pack is an external battery that attaches to the back of the phone basicallt and offers 8.5 hours talk time and 500 hours of talk time."
So is that 508.5 hours of talk time?

Love the extended battery on my GNex!

Just want to say that I received my extended battery today and how awesome it feels on the phone...love it way better than the standard battery and cover. Now I'm just hoping this bad boy gives me at least 2-3 more hours of juice.
Def no regrets!

What do you guys mean by "feel of the phone is better"? The weight and thickness of the phone or the overall longer battery life?
The weight and thickness plus the longer battery life....trust us, get the extended battery with cover. This really should have been the default battery for the Gnex.
I think we need separate forums for the GSM Galaxy Nexus and the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. These are really two completely different phones.

I don't mind carrying other batteries, but also carrying around extra backs seems like a pain if it's not necessary. Plus it seems like people just really like the feel of the extended cover more.

Mugen Power 3900 mAh battery for t989!

I just checked mugen website and they will have this 3900mAh battery available on 1/20/12. It says battery lasts 2.11 times longer. I am guessing I can OC/performance governor with high brightness setting and use phone moderately/heavily and it will still last all day (maybe not). The case looks pretty decent too.
I emailed them how much thickness it would add and they said about 9mm so the phone will look twice as thicker.
What do you guys think? It's approximately $100 tho.. damn..
$100?!? Lol you can buy THREE OEM batteries and still have a few bucks left for coffee hahahaha...greedy bastards
+1.... I'd rather have my phone last 3x longer than 2.11x longer
Pricey
That sounds awfully pricey.. I recevied my extended life battery from Amazon the other day, it was $13 + shipping.

Thanks for letting us know. What about heating issue.....does this battery heats up more than the original? How much time does this one take to charge up full.
It's essentially double the life of the original (1850mAh vs 3500), generally after a days use of mp3s all day and surfing at work, I would usually have had about 35% left with the original, now I'm sitting around 65% at the end of the day without a worry. Charging is quick, I haven't really noticed a huge difference between the extended and the original.
It is definitely heavier, and the phone is a bit thicker with the new battery and case, but I actually like the extra weight and find it makes it feel more solid when holding it.
Heat-wise, it is no difference.

For those who say that Mugenpower batteries are over priced, I beg to differ.
I originally purchased a Seidio 2800mah extended battery for my Nexus One and it's performance, even after proper conditioning, was inferior to the HTC stock battery. I then purchased a Mugenpower 3200mah extended battery which gave me a solid 72 hours of use between charges.
I now have the Mugenpower 3900mah extended battery for my GS2x and after the second full charge, the level is only down to 70% 24 hours after being disconnected from the charger.
All extended batteries are not created equal!

Best Extended Life Battery?

Does anyone have any recommendations to a good extended life battery? I would prefer one that isn't so bulky but I want really good battery life. Battery Life is more important to me but a balance of bulkyness and battery life would be good.

On the other side it's only $9 bucks so may be worth it even if it ends up being a 2nd battery.

yeah that price is very sketchy. the cheap eBay extended batteries have proven to never be even close to the advertised capacity. sometimes they turned out to be even less than the stock batteries. I'd expect the same out of this one seeing as legitimate extended batteries usually range in the $30-50 dollar range.

Here you go. I purchased one of these for my 3D and 2 for my ET4G. I'm getting 30+ hrs with moderate to heavy usage. Definitely on par with the Seidio but at half the cost. It does add a bump and some weight to the phone but IMO it actually makes the phone feel more solid. It feels cheap with just the stock battery.

Just got two of these, and after 3 days use I'm convinced they're knock offs. I would say they're 1650mAh at best. Not saying Andida makes junk batteries; I doubt these are legit Andidas sold on this site.
Swyped, not typed, from my Digital Brick
Here is a good battery setup i use!
I have had very good luck with this setup...
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Spri..._1_5?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1333305053&sr=1-5
With it being 20.00 you just cant go wrong... 2 BATTERIES, WALL CHARGER and it performs way better than the stock batteries. I charge them from the wall charger and when i install the battery it actualy stays at100% for over 30 minutes of use before i see 99% and 98% just amazing. this pic i posted is from heavy use with the battery. Im ALWAYS on the phone lol. Also I always have my brightness at max!
I have the traxcell extended battery and its worth it. I love that I can still have a case for it
I have tried the extended batteries and have never been impressed. I just ordered the amazon batteries/charger deal suggested by davidstjohn1.
I seldom get through a day without changing my battery at least once. I figure since I paid a premium price for the Galaxy II I may as well enjoy the beauty of the screen. I got rid of the screen protector too and use rain-x on it which works great.
http://www.amazon.com/Trexcell-Sams..._1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1333320158&sr=1-2
This is cheaper and eliminates the need to switch batteries, and I think it makes the phone a good weight. To each his own tho.
Also whats the point of the rain-x, to reduce finger prints?

There is also a nice TPU cover made to fit the extended profile. I am tempted to get it but then again I have no issues with the stock battery. But I never use 4g.

I also have the tpu cover. The back that comes with it is slippery so the case is a must for me. I had never dropped my phone before I put on the extended battery, then I dropped it twice that week. I ordered the case and have been fine since.
Right now I am at 17% with being on battery for 1d 10h on codename ROM. Sooooo worth it
Now it all comes back to me. I like the Samsung TPU cover and the one I got with my extended battery was a slippery POS. There is also the fatter profile. I like the lighter thinner look (as I wish my meat body was).
Rain-X is THE best solution I have found for fingerprints. Only works on glass though. I tried it on my Gtab first and now use it on my Galaxy S and even my eye glasses. I live in New York City so don't have/need a car but I once treated my windshield before a drive in the rain from LV to LA and didn't have to use the windshield wipers once - the raid just blew off.

Nooooooooooooooooo
Stay away from batteries like that.
Id recommend an ankor battery. U can get an extended 2700 that fits in phone with no modded cover for like 15 bucks or less. They are great batteries and a great name brand.

Go to eBay and run a search for anker evo battery. Also the battery I mentioned I meant to say its a 1700 battery. They sell bigger ones but u have to use the bigger battery cover they send with it.

I've had the Sprint extended battery for about a year, and it is terrific so far. I easily doubled my battery life, and WAY outlast all my friends (and wife) who have the same phone and general usage.
Also, I prefer the larger battery for one reason: it sits in my hand SO MUCH nicer now. I have fairly large hands, and the phone was so slender that I felt I was always clenching my fingers tightly to keep it in my hand. Now when I hold it, the notch created by the protruding battery sits on my ring finger and keeps the phone still and balanced without my having to tightly grasp the sides. I love it. I wouldn't buy a slender battery again, personally.

Glad Papa set me straight...(?) I've been using my for 6 months, and it seems to get better as it goes along. I did try some of those el-cheapo specials on ebay, won't do that again. I'm like some others, I do like the fit with the Sprint extended battery, and with the right rom and kernel you can rock some serious battery time.

I bought a seidio 3500mah battery back in December 2010. Still running strong.
I also bought this (it had two black backs tho) because I liked the back better than the seidio one and it was cheap and included several things.
