I think I finally have a ROM and all the apps I need to have my phone just the way I want it but the last part Im having trouble with is the dialer. I have tried a few 2g and 3g dialers but none of them I have been very happy with. So do you guys have any favorites?

Wow, Im sorry, I didnt realize he was YOUR CHEF!!! LOL
It does work but it doesnt fit perfect. When I install it I either get all the buttons lined up properly but I get a white square in the upper right (all the time) or I dont get the square and the buttons dont line up right (only the post call buttons not the dialing buttons).
The moral of the story, yes it does work but not perfectly, hence why Im looking for other options.

Thanks for pointing that out! hmm I will not be running that then, as I am not flashing any more ... for a while.
The dialer by poorlyduck is my favorite. Been using it for weeks now. Actually it is a skin for a stock dialer. Works well and looks good. He also has a black version too.
I like [email protected]$ New Diamond Dialers (Updated: 8-22-2008):

I like the look of that one but after installing it I lost my 1% increments on my battery indicator. Any idea how to get the colored 1% one working again?
I Like standard 3G dialer like Kaiser had, i use Schen creation, it was here
Working like a charm on my Dopod 838 Pro, tried on CRC's ROM.
I heard of that problem, here's the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405727&highlight=poorlyduck
I think someone had a solution. I personally don't keep the battery up there, I keep the clock and use the power icon in the tray. Just a note, if you uninstall the dialer, the % increment returns too.
If you install the Pandora 3G dialer you will not lost anything. I like this one because you can navigate thru the contact's different nos. from this dialer.
WM6.5 build 28008 - 15mb page pool - New Updated
http://rapidshare.com/files/315869018/Epix28008_15mb.bin
*Capable of viewing Chinese and Japanese - I added this for myself but forgot to remove it when building the new bin
- Nicer title bar and battery percentage status bar
- Added few utilities: PHM RegEdit, Pocket RAR, Pocket Screen Capture, psShutXP and Totalcmd
- Fixed Wi-Fi, proxy manager and ring tunes
- Further cleaned up the Samsung/AT&T applications and settings
- Added Enhanced GPS settings and HSDPA setting in control panel
- IE default home page to Google.com
*Mouse pixel rendering is still an issue due to the OEM driver.*
This rom should be one of the best Epix Winmo 6.5.
Buy me a coke!
* Boot on first initialization screen will be slow - I think it's the nature of WM6.5 and also using WM6.1 drivers
* Mouse rendering is still an issue
--Use this rom at your own risk--If you don't know how to flash a custom rom, please ask or else you might ended up with a korean made, hi-tech brick.

Can you add the palm threaded messaging when you get the chance ?, because it works really well on my epix. Also, the percentage battery icon from your previous rom kills the battery pretty fast.
Thanks for your hard work

Startup is a little slow, but otherwise it definitely works. Trashcan's the man. Also for anyone wondering the VGA patch works on this ROM, though the menus are still HUGE...
One other thing, device.exe usage is still through the roof after using GPS... ugh..

well that sucks, but not unexpected. The GPS cpu usage is linked to the phone portion of the rom that was updated in ID1. Either way, flashing now and looking to see what's new. (At least I don't have to wait for AT&T/Samsung to push out an update for 6.5)

When I originally flashed the update, no matter what I did I couldn't get the "phone" portion to update so I ended up with a new "pda" version but retained the old "phone" portion. I was pissed at first, but I have none of the device.exe issues, no slog dumps, and things are generally pretty stable. Maybe that's the way to here as well? Use 6.5 with the old radio?
If only those of us with the new radio could reflash the old radio...I still prefer this form factor over the Fuze I'm using now.
The rom is running smoothly, but I noticed that none of the shortcut keys seem to be working and I'm not sure how to get the camera to work. Also, seems to be a little square of distortion in the middle of the screen, or wherever the cursor of the mouse is.
Two quick questions before taking the plunge:
1. Is the process the same as the 'trashcan' 6.1 update but with a different .bin?
2. Can the 6.5 ROM be re-flashed back to the 6.1 with the same process?
Thanks for all the hard work on this!!
GREAT job trashcan! w00t!
Not to seem ungrateful, I'm really excited, but I thought I would compile some of the issues I've found so far, I know some posts have already identified them, but I made a list!
some of the ring tones are corrupt (ring-standard .wma) for instance
when enabling pin lock (required by exchange), the first few times the lock screen comes up it pretty much freezes the phone
graphics buffer corruption where the mouse pointer is
with the high-dpi fix, IE won't start
camera application reports missing dependency
I've noticed connectivity issues - upon boot, everything works, but then the network connection dies and I have to reboot
right after flashing the phone it took about 5 minutes stuck on the orange Windows screen and wouldn't respond to anything, I don't know if this is normal for 6.5 or just because the rom is running a little slow, but hopefully everyone who is gonna flash will read this and know to expect it

Yeah hopefully they finish that new gdmfing phone rom, supposedly they're aware of the issue and are supposed to redo the ID1 update.
As far as the ROM: Only real issue i've noticed is sometimes switching screens there's a graphical artifact in the middle of the screen, it's like a box where the pixels render screwed up, like there's something "layered" behind the window messing up how it draws the image, if you get what I'm saying. Edit: it's the mouse pointer as others pointed out, didn't see page 2, I use 4 way nav instead of pointer but the pointer seems to still "be there" in the background. I also noticed the initial boot took AGES, but it's decently quick now.

These are 2 questions I would also like to know. Also does anybody have any link for the program to flash the bin file? I've never done a non official rom for my Epix yet, but this one looks like a gooden.
1. Yea, same procedure
2. I don't see any reason why you couldn't go back to 6.1, although I haven't tried
3. I used grandprix 1.6.4 on win7 (vista version)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8ie3738v
I downloaded the program to flash and it looks pretty straight froward. But I would like to confirm the steps before I do it and brick my phone. I see you have to select a profile, then it will let you select the image. Select the image in PDA, and then do I leave the others blank? Also after that I'm kind of lost a bit... Sorry I'm a n00b on this. I've done the older Cingular 8525 and the Blackjack but that be about it.
That is what I did exactly. I chose the BIN in PDA, left the others blank. Then turn off the phone, plug into USB, click the "Detect" button, and turn phone back on. Then....wait. The program froze on me at Writing Fake CSC Header, so I ripped out the USB after a while and tried to turn it off and back on. And BAM: WinMo 6.5
Trying to get the HTC keyboard for my phone cuz let's face it, the android keyboard sucks. I've been following this thread over on the XDA Nexus One thread and have followed it exactly installing both APK's. Each time when i long click and select Touch Input, no keyboard shows up on the screen.
I'm not exactly sure why it won't work since i have installed several other keyboards over the past.
If anyone knows how to get this working, or is experiencing a similar issue please let me know.
Bump
Seriously? Nobody. The android keyboard sucks haha and my swype expired.
lol dude, not clue why it doesnt work, i tried downloading the v20 apk from the N1 forums, it installs but when you switch input methods it doesnt show up so stuck in same boat

working keyboard for android tilt 2
first you have to go to the xdandroid startup icon and make sure the model is on tilt 2 mode, then boot. just like using the regular keyboard. able to use fn key to enter numbers not like when they are all at the top.

So...now that that's been cleared up: In case you haven't found it already, the TMoUS Keyboard Fix is what you need to apply to almost any custom rom here as they're mostly-all based on world-wide English releases so not natively the same layout as T-Mo or ATT etc. versions....something like that.

Thanx guys, now that's community!!!
have you tried any of the ROMs over on ppcgeeks.com?
most of those guys are usa based and could probably help.
To be honest, I've tried 10s of different ROMs so far and none of them actually had a problem with the keyboard of my TP2 T7373, its an unlocked EU release by the way.
Which model/version or release do you use?
I have a T-Mobile US TP2, the issue I'm talking about is punctuation on the physical keyboard not working, and the keyboard cab didn't help by the way Is anyone else having this prob? thanx

If by "punctuation" you're referring to the upper-case punctuation (and other "yellow things") accessed by the Alt key, that (the Alt key) is how the T-Mo USA keyboard fails with the WWE roms and the problem that the XDA Rhodium T-Mobile Keyboard Fix.cab is supposed to fix.
But you applied that fix -- copied the .cab to your phone and then opened/ran it and it didn't work -- the Alt key still doesn't work?
Don't mean to insult your intelligence, but did you do a soft-reset after running the .cab? That's necessary.
What custom rom are you running?
This is usually a trivial fix -- one that always works, AFAIK. If it's not working for you...maybe there're some suggestions on the TMOUS Keyboard Fix thread. Good luck.
I installed the new Tilt 2 ROM 5.2.21887 (Aug 30/2010) I HATE IT

You don't need to HardSPL to flash an official ROM (for your specific carrier). The original shipped ROM will flash fine.

My only hesitation is becasue de guy at HTC said NO!. (What does he know!)
Summary:
I had original tllt2 ROM.
I just ran the new Updated ROM. no HardSPL (I don't even know what's that)
I don't like the new ROM (only good thing is Videos run smoother)
I had the original ROM file .
Question: RUNning this file is the same as Flashing? (Sorry I'm really noobie)

Thanks LiquidXed,
Fortunatelly I have a file HTCTilt2ATTOriginalShipROM.exe I don't remember how I got it (maybe HTC) but I'm sure is the original.
The only question is that the original ROM was about 8/09 and I believe it was a fix patch on 12/09. I bought my Tilt2 on 4/10 so I don't know if I have to install the patch plus I don't know what kind of patch it was.
Thanks for your help.

Read the oter posts about the new tilt 2 rom.. there is a couple things that suck. I dont like that it dont have the mini task mannager at the top right where it tells u how much memory is free and beable to close app without haven to open the task manager. It dont have arc messaging client, it has HTC message client, and i dont like how it runs, its really slow. the rom itself is fast, it dont show notifications on the home screen , u have to click on the top taskbar to see if u have a missed call and what ever, also the first thing u need to do is install .net 3.0 before u don anything then u need to do a registry edit to get .net to work right.. There is some other things i dont like about it, thats y im not usen it.. wildchild has made a nice update of this new rom, that fixed alot of things that werent right.. but read the form here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737168 then ull get a better view on this about this rom, whether u want it or not. But the best way to deside if u like it or not is to flash it and try it. Make sure u have the original rom just incase u dont like it. If u dont i have a copy and could upload to hotfile or somethin

1-Besides the above items let me add that the deal breaker for me was they reduced the text input keyboard from 6 or 7 to just 3. No more letter recognition, or handwriting or my preferred method, block recognition. I know is not popular, but I love it becuse it's almost impossible to mistype, it the faster way for me, I use my finger or the stylus and the big plus is it doesn't cover the screen! and I don't even have to look at the screen! The current keyboard covers more than half of the scree and in landscape mode it cover almost all the scree, just one line visible at the top. But the worst thing is that even if I am using the hardware keyboaard it pops over and over again.
2- HTCalbum.exe is just useless. in the Photo and Video tab, if I press "album" to change the albums or to see the grid, it opens the grid view for 1 or 2 seconds and returns to swipe view. If I'm quick enough to press the album key it shows the list of albums but it freezes for a while and returns back again to the swipe mode. The I get an error message from Microsoft with a link to report the error when I press the it asks for Wifi connection. And even if I exit the error message keeps poping up
Internet is definitely slower.
I couldn't find a way to add programs to the WM6 Star menu icons and Sense only allows 9.
How you can see the list of ALL PROGRAMS??
On the good side FM reception is a lot better
The one thing that is noticible better is that finally the the video play is very smooth (sigh) I'm going to miss that because I moving back to the original ROM.
