So, as of yesterday i am completely new to android, though a big tech head.
my typical approach tends to be break it now, and figure out how to fix it.. then if it breaks again you know what to do. haha..
i'm looking for a backup, i uninstalled google talk and of course had the associated problems with doing that, and am unable to repair it without another image.
Other Suggestions?
I tried all of the Clockwork mods available for similar devices and none work :-/ bad thing is, if it doesnt work I have to pull my battery out, meaning I have to take this damn two piece case off! Help us peeps of genius! Thanks
I am also looking for the ROM, as I deleted the Talk as well. I reinstalled Talk, but the Market still does not work. If anyone can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, yes, it is only the factory image/rom/firmware. I was only doing this for the people that have messed up their phones and are needing to restore to the current factory settings. This is not the same as the phones restore, as that does not replace system files, but this does.

So does anyone have a ROM cooked up for this one yet? Or a reliable method to Root it? It is driving me bonkers that it constantly launches the crapware that came preloaded on it. It need to be cleaned, the bloat slows it to a painful speed...

I have rooted mine twice without any issues, other than I deleted Google Talk the first time, using SuperOneClickv1.5.4-ShortFuse.

EDIT: Also I bought SystemApp Remover, to remove Uno, midnight bowling and a few other things. It works great, once you are rooted. You have to hit the uninstall twice on some apps.

if it says just uninstalls and not deletes... whats tha difference. also has anyone found a way to increase volume hrough headset/ I am rooted through z4root. also had no luck in installing clockwork mod recovery..
Uninstall means it removes it, and not just deleting the program. So it removes the settings that calls for it to run, and not just delete the program an leave the settings.

hello do any body has the asphalt 5 demo it has to be the demo apk that came on the epic4G im trying to upgrade my friends epic4g to froyo but it keep asking for the patch asphalt 5 demo in order for him to upgrade to froyo he used the sdx stock app removal months ago an now he cant find the asphalt 5 demo no were to put it back on the phone can any one help plus if you have more bloat wares post them on here its asking for all the bloat wares i deleted an now i need sprintzone apk that came on the epic 4g an plenty more bloat wares

yea i got the original asphalt 5 demo back an it still not letting me get the update now its complaining about sd card now i put another sd card in with the zip still the same thing plus the phone is stock all the way to the bone even the boot screen is stock the only thing i did to it is i had root the eclair rom what next now who having this problem too

I downloaded the APK pack here:

Then used ADB to push the asphalt file to /system/app (this is where the update.zip expects it to be).
After that the update.zip worked great!

now i need sprint zone apk i deleted alot of these bloat wares with the app called sdx app removal now its asking for these apps back for me to get the upgrade lol do u have sprint zone an by the way ur comment work now its asking for another app wtffffffffffffffffffffff

I cant odin im using drop box to get this working i already have it in my sd card plus my computer cant find my phone so i use drop box i bought 3 usb cord but anyways now i dont need the asphalt 5 no more now its asking for sprintzone now its basically asking for all the bloatware i deleted im running around all these forums like a chicken with its head cut off lol do u have a list of all the bloat wares one by one so i can install them thanks

If you are having problems connecting usb on a stock phone, take it to a service center and ask for a replacement. There's no reason for you to put up with a manufacturer defect.
Oh, and the SDX stock app remover will also put those apps back for you.

I don't mean to be a grammar troll, but it's a lot easier to read requests (esp on tapatalk) if u add some periods and spaces between the sentences.

listen i already did that an send it samsung they say nothing is wrong it connects to there computer an they reflash my phone an tested it i think its my computer but ill find a computer tech to get it up an running
Dude, in post #5 I linked the APK pack with every single stock APK. I just double checked to make sure I wasn't crazy, but sprintzone.apk is in there too.
I found I can get the whole phone to freeze with syndicate rom if I use this website. http://www.webmd.com/diet/calc-bmi-plus Trying to figure out BMI. If I enter the data and and spend at least 2 minutes on the site phone will lock on that screen can't get out must pull battery. Maybe this can help find the mysterious freezing.

i am having the exact same issue. the prev. version of this rom had the buddies now i have re-flashed, wiped & reflashed but still wont pick up the buddies now. tried installing the buddies now apk but it wont manually install either via android injector or any other way. any suggestions or work arounds to get this working please. thanks

BuddiesNow works only on TouchWiz, not LauncherPro. TouchWiz is in Fully Loaded.
Freezes are solved by flashing the kernel in the second post, or VisionKernel. Use VisionKernel 1.1 for right now.

As previously stated I installed the full version, it has touchwiz it doesn't have buddies now. If it does I can't find it, tell me how to bring it up.

Actually <Rodderik> <Cyc> helpded me out. Apparently the program is put in data/app move it to system/app. I didn't try that bud Rodderick sent me this (attached) and I put it in \system\app and that did the trick Thanks to the guys in the chat forum http://webchat.fossnet.info/?channels=acs-users

I was wondering if someone could possibly provide me with the APK file for the stock version of it so that I can install that back onto her phone to make things right again. Did you uninstall the app first using titaniumbackup or similar? That's what I have to do whenever flash new rom. Sometimes I need to even reboot after the uninstall, and before the install of new.

If you install swype officially as outlined on the swype website you can get the updates OTA. Just make sure any previous version is removed beforehand.

Ok, so I've seen this question asked I don't know how many times in each Rom at the Dev Section and also in the General Forum so I decided to make a quick guide.
- If you're on any ROM or even stock rooted and get prompted to update to the new update you can do a couple things.
1.- If you don't already have Titanium Back up, Download it from the market and FREEZE Device Management. Once you freeze it just reboot and the update will go away. I was going to recommend Bloat Freezer, but I couldn't find it on the Market, not sure what's going on with that.
This is the easiest step * ** *

*An alternative would be using Root Explorer -
Under System/ App/ wssyncmldm.apk Just delete.

2.- If you must have the update for some reason and don't want to just flash a ROM that's already 2.3.6, then it's best to go back to stock. UPDATE will not work unless you have STOCK RECOVERY on your phone.

3.- You can also try to flash your nandroid backup and then Odin the stock recovery. You also might need the stock kernel if you had a custom one installed, in this case flash Stock kernel first before your nandroid.

4.- If you're only rooted with the stock Rom you can try to update without doing anything, but you will lose Root. There has been reports that it has worked for some, but not for others.

Or....... just use free es file explorer on market ( don't forget to enable root under its settings ) and backup/delete both wssync apk's under /system/app. Then reboot
Takes less than 2 minutes and can be done without odin, firmware flashing, ect

An earlier forum post pointed out that it's been pulled from the market, and as this article cites, with good reason. Alternatives suggested are SystemCleanup, NoBloat, and as the OP pointed out, Titanium Backup.

Titanium is free, and does everything you will need. The donate version is very inexpensive too.
Titanium backup is great! And the pro version that does all the restoring in one go!

Thank you for the heads up. I read that article and seems like this Trey guy is a bit shady. Which one do you use jasnn? I plan on buy Titanium backup in the near future before I start loading custom roms, but I am looking to leave the stock rom for now and just get rid most the t-mobile preinstalled stuff. In all fairness I was pretty impressed with the dnla app allshare and also Kies Air but there was just sooo much preloaded junk.

could anyone of these be what i need to freeze?

Do you have Download Manager 2.3.6?
If so try that one.
Are you already on 2.3.6? Because I noticed Device Management is no longer there once I updated to 2.3.6.
But you're on Sprint, so not exactly sure what it's called.
