Hi there,
I was just wondering if anyone has found a way to create a contact with a wildcard number? eg: +278212345???
I am currently getting the Facebook sms', my banking notifications and one or two other subscriptions that come from an automated sender with usually very similar numbers, but of course, not the SAME number...
Would be wondrous to have them all grouped together in the handcent app.

My company has an alerting SMS system. Usually you receive a reminder. The special thing in the SMS that instead of the number in the "Form" field it shows the text "alert".
When I receive this SMS it shows that I received it one of my friends from facebook contacts :s His profile also not contains number under the phone field just characters.
How this huge bug could pass the test?!
I reported this issue to HTC support, but of course no response.
This happens with me when receiving texts from t-mobile, it always says that they are from a random facebook friend. The only way to stop it, is to stop the phone syncing facebook contacts.
I too am having the same problem.
It seems very odd that it should pick up a random facebook contact.
I don't sync my facebook contacts to the Desire, but do remain logged into facebook and it still picks up the random contact despite the mobile numbers used etc all being different!
A fix would be great!
I had this bug, I had the contact delete their phone details seeing as they only entered garbage. Don't hold your breath on it ever getting fixed.
Hey guys, we all know windows phone 7's people hub integrates facebook with your contacts. However I can't quite see how it would be done.
Correct me if I'm wrong here. One problem I forsee is this - contact duplicates. Most of my facebook contacts do not even put up their mobile phones on their facebook profile. Now I have a separate list of contacts with just their names and mobile numbers(the traditional way of storing contacts). Could anyone explain to me how windows phone 7 will be able to integrate facebook contacts with such a list of contacts? Every phone allow us to name a contact with an attached number/s, versus facebook contacts whose names are named by them. It would be convenient if we could search for through our contacts by the names on our own list of contacts we've created, rather than fake names given by our facebook contacts. As such wouldn't we face a problem of contact duplicates? And even if windows phone 7 gave us an option to integrate the two separate contact's information into one, wouldn't we have to do that for almost every single contact?
Could someone clarify on this issue?
WP7 will let you link contact information from multiple sources to one contact card.
Does anyone know if it's possible to attach a contact to an appointment in the calendar?
The way the phone operates with all a persons phone calls, texts, emails & facebook updates appearing together on the contact details screen it makes sense that you should also be able to see any appointments you have with that person as well.
Ideally I would want to be able to create an appointment from the contact card or add a contact to an appointment on the calendar screen.
This would be really usefull out on the road, so when your reminder pops up it would also show you the persons phone number & address, so no need to go rooting around to find the address you need to go to.
Anyone come across a way of doing that or an app/rom to try?
If you are using Sense, you can add attendees to an appointment when making a new one. It doesn't show up on their contact card, though. It does send them an e-mail reminding of the event or a cancellation if you delete it.
Thanks Bob,
Yes did know about that but if you use that then first it sends out emails which I don't want it to do but also the list of contacts from which you can choose to add to an appointment is reduced to only those contacts with an email address. Most of my customers are non businessy low tech types so I don't have email address's for the vast majority of them & therefore can't add them.
Is there an email client for the Incredible that has options for blocking all incoming emails except for a select few?
I have one mail email address that my friends and family use but it is also used by companies and othere contacts. This presents no problem for Outlook on my desktop because messages from certain addresses can be moved to particular folders. Plus there are many spam messages that are sent to the Junk Mail folder.
I want to restrict the emails that appear on the phone to about six or eight email addresses and simply block the others.
So is there such an email client?
Thanks for any help the forum members can provide!
Hi
Is there a way not to have notifications grouped on my watch ?
For example GMail: rather than having one mail + others identified as a small number and being forced to click on the number to see mails, having each mail as a single notification.
Reason for that: I am constantly cancelling all notifications at once rather than going through them one by one and check
Thanks !
