Ok currently on miui 1.29 I noticed the wifi signal is not as good as a sense rom also applies to cm6 rom. Currently have latest radios and 76 hboot. Any tips?

The signal is most likely exactly the same, the different roms may just express the signal strength differently in the icon. (the same strength may be 3 bars on one, and 2 on the other.)
I also have an airwave and Im not getting any signal

This isn't related to any particular ROM as I have tasted this with various sense and none sense ROMS... Has anyone since using the latest radio had issues with connecting to 3G or having very strange fluctuations, where the signal might go dead completely then back up to full?
I seem to be experiencing this with 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20
nope seems fine with mine. OD rom in Australia

The mentioned Radio is really poor in 3G Network. Especially change between 3G and EDGE. When I disconnect from Wifi it too often doesnt connect to the GSM or 3G again - the bars are there, you can phone but cant use data connection.
I hope there'll be a updated radio soon!
Im not happy with 5.09.00.20.
Hi,
I'm also experiencing a poor 3G connection with this radio.
I'm not happy with that.
Vodafone Spain, also same while itinerance in Portugal, USA.
Best
this radio has been absolutely fine for me.
having poor reception at singapore here too...
should i downgrade the radio?
Working best for me. From Malaysia.
Not working at all well for me. All was working great until I flashed to this radio. I'm now experiencing complete signal drops at least once an hour, have to toggle airplane mode to re-enable.
I tried rolling back to each other radio bar the first 3 or 4 with the same result.
Could it be something else or am I missing something when rolling back the radio?
It works fine for me as long as I stay in Copenhagen, but I've experienced losing signal altogether when travelling, this didn't happen before, so I think it's because of the radio.
I have a weird issue where I never seem to be able to access the Internet in any way until the connection icon changes from "3G" to "H". Is this normal? I haven't noticed this on the stock radio but then I didn't keep it that long...
Still having this "issue". Anyone else?
New version is working really better here.
Where could one get that version? And is it supposed to work on any ROM without breaking it?
I have the 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 radio and am on Telus.
I have the same issue as you. When the icon shows 3G my internet doesnt work at all but as soon as it changed to H (bang) full speed internet..
It did it for me on the 32.43 radio but not on stock. Anyone know what the stock Telus Radio is?
Guys you do know on telus we dont have a 3G network its strictly "H" that would be why your internet does not work. I would like to know how you managed to get stuck in 3G as i never have.
I have no idea - i just updated radio and rom to 2.2 Official (but rooted) - i entered the apn settings from the telus website.
When on internet things will be fine, internet loading (H in task bar) and then suddenly it will turn to the 3G icon and internet will freeze until the H icon comes back. Strange...
When i go into the settings and check my phone model it says its a HTC Desire A8181 - i checked the internet and this model is 3G Dual-Band 900/2100MHz.
Before i flashed a 2.2 rom my model showed as HTC Desire 8182, which is 850/1900 3G.
Could this be why its getting stuck on 3G instead of H?
My model also displays HTC Desire A8181 and I'm running a 2.2 ROM.
I don't remember what it said before on the Telus stock rom, but I could try flashing it back to see, since I have it in backup.
If you could try flashing it back that would be great - i think i have my Nandroid backup but its on my works computer...

the modle should do anything i change mine to just HTC Desire, what rom are you running?
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if the kernel can affect signal?
I am currently on MIUI 0.12.31 from MIUI-Au and I have tried many different radios.
Phone: HTC Desire
Current Radio: 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14
Network: O2
I used to use the recommended radio for MIUI (32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2) but it seems recently the signal has become really rubbish. I used to get 4-5 bars but now I only seem to get 0-1 bars, 2 bars at a push. The only difference is that I am using DeFrOsT kernel rather than stock MIUI and I'm wondering whether this could be causing the signal issues?
Anyone have any recommendations for UK O2 network?
Regards,
Jads
I am running CM 7.0.2.1 with Chad's 4/19 kernel. My Dinc gets 2/4 bars signal strength on 3g and 3/4 on 1x at home while my wie's Env 2 shows 4/4 on both. So I decided to try a the new 2.15.10.05.06 radio and the 9.01 radio. Both updated with no problems. My dBm changed little, if any. (77-85%) I'm now running 2.15.10.05.06 and seems to be snappier. The signal strength bars are still less than my wife's though. Why am I not seeing the same amount of bars as my wife? (I don't know how to check her dBm) I did a *228. I get four bars at work but not at home like my wife. (Same problem at our lake house) Is there anything I can do to make sure I get the best possible signal strength? Should I try more radios?
How many bars your phone or her phone has doesn't really mean anything. It varies from phone to phone and signal strength isn't reported properly just by looking at the bars. Checking your dbm is the only way to really see where your signal is and some people seem to report better reception with different radios although it never seemed to make much of a difference to me. I'd check out www.dougpiston.com for radios, try em out, and look at your dbm, GPS lock speed/accuracy, and data speed to determine which works the best for what you need.

Is there any way to update the PRL on CM 7? I'm at 52297 and I've seen where the latest is 52299.
I think the custom menus might only be accessible from sense roms, so #228 might be the only thing you can do in cm7. You could restore a sense backup, update prl, then restore your cm7 backup? There might be another way to do it, I'm not sure cause I've never messed with my prl.

I have cm7 latest stable release.
I seem to have more bars (3G or wifi) on sense roms and better reception versus this rom.
The problem is i have yet to find a sense rom that is not glitching.
If the answer is yes, and roms do make a difference in signal strength etc, what are my options?

Not at all, only the radios effect signal.

Keyword there is "seem". Some roms use a different "scale" to show how good your signal is. One bar on one rom can be the same signal as 5 bars on another.
Are there radios I can flash that increase my signal?
my z2s signal keeps fluctuating continuously from -70dbm to -110 dbm in custom roms on HSPA network. in stock rom there is no such problem. is it the same for everyone and is there a solution?
Ya, its a problem in all custom roms which are besed on lineage os or aosp etc. Infact not only in our Z2 plus, but on other smartphones too. Tried on many smartphones. I was using miui 8 on my previous smartphone and it was great. Unfortunately there is no solution for signal problem. Funny thing is that no one talk about it. You are the first who is complaining about signal problem. I am observing this issue since 2014 and there is not a singal thread on this topic.
Ditto.
I have been having this problem with most if not all custom ROMs. I have tried different basebands without any success.
However, most of the time signal is still available even if the meter shows otherwise.

Yes the problem is same for all of us.Even after updating the baseband to 1.76 their is signal fluctuation which is disappointing.
Experiencing the same problem with LineageOS 15.1.
On 3G signal is jumping around, but connection isn't lost.
On 2G signal is stable, no fluctutations.
On 4G I can't tell, because my Z2 is lacking band 20, on which I mostly would have 4G with my provider here.
Baseband is 1.70
anyone found solution? yesterday i flashed custom rom for the first time n experiencing fluctuations, using Vodafone 4G IN
Try arrow 3.18 Oreo or pie or bootleggers no such issue is present .. also aex 5.8 Oreo or pie.. tried all 4 no such issues
Best signal on zuk only in zui, in custom signal quality is bad. ;-;
Hey bro this is the solution you need to flash a custom baseband zip coz the one you might be having is outdatedBTW be careful on what zip you are flashing coz it might lock your bootloader and remove all lock screens

I'm using stock rom now because 4g signal is rock stable even indoors and no 4g/3g/2g switching issues...
