Has anybody had any luck finding either of these? Samsung's website has the dock, but only for back order. I am dying for a good dock, makes me miss my blackberry's.
I haven't been able to find it. I'd really like the car dock so I can use it as a decent GPS.

Funny. My GPS has always worked fine. But I too would like a car dock. Cup holders are for cups, not phones.

I know this doesn't help for a Desktop Dock but another post here had a great idea for a car dock (mount). It is very functional for the car and I am glad I did it. I used Tasker to set some variables so the phone "Docks" when it is in this mount. I am attaching some pictures of how it looks. The original thread is HERE.

Check out Samsung's website. They have a perfect one that sits on it's side. Its forever on back order however...

The desktop home app is in landscape. The intended docking position is on its side as demoed by the Galaxy S advert. I even made a dock with internal amp and speakers that holds the phone on it's left side.
Note: Just making an informative statement. Read with a positively reinforcing internal voice for better results.
I just received a "Backorder Update" from Samsung regarding that charger/dock/cradle. It's available when I go to the page now.

Its actually quite easy to use any dock - just fit it by melting with a lighter.
I know that sounds weird but it really works. I used my old Garmin.
Don't recommend the universal docks. They fit weird.
Interested if you guys find anything that uses the USB port

Exactly. My GPS has worked fine since I've had the phone and I really like the Google maps navigator. Funny thing is that my phone sits in the cup holder right now when I need to use it as a GPS or for Trapster.

That's cause they aren't for Froyo. 2.1 only. You'll have to find an alternative that you like.

The Google Car Home is infinity better than the Samsung one. It is also specifically a 2.2 app.
I'm just using 2 thick rubber bands to hold my phone on the sun visor. Vlingo works much better at that distance and I can clearly see the map.

This desk dock SUCKS!
After many months of waiting on the back order, the desk top cradle arrived today, and...
It's simply awful.
While docked, you're stuck with five icons (Alarm, Daily Briefing, Gallery, Music and Voice Search). They are not customizable and I rarely use any of them. Samsung thought it sufficient to only allow customization with the clock (you can turn it off or get an analog or digital version--- WOW!) You can also change the city and the Celsius/Fahrenheit in Accuweather. My experience has been that Accuweather is wildly inaccurate. Totally useless...
As if that wasn't bad enough, Samsung, in their infinite wisdom, designed the dock so the volume controls and the headphone jack port are blocked. Finally, you can't access contacts or make calls while docked. That's right, you can't use your phone to make a call. To place a call, you have to first exit the landscape mode by pressing the home button and you're then in your home screen. But of course, at this point, everything is sideways if the phone is still docked. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I contemplated returning the dock for a refund, but the return policy included in the packaging states that full refunds will only be given for unopened items. Samsung states they will make partial refunds (at their sole discretion) based on the condition of the dock, accompanying literature and the packaging.
Learn from my mistake-- This dock is a huge waste of money. I've had it with Samsung. The delays and poor quality of the dock, the delays with FROYO and overall poor customer service means I'll be looking to purchase my next phone from another manufacturer.
The OEM Car kit is finally available directly from Samsung. It had been on backorder until today.

I too was trying to find this out. I can see no proof of a Audio Output on this dock. Don’t mean it doesn’t, but they are not advertising that it does, nor are there any pictures of it that I found. The Samsung OEM Infuse dock, that works perfect on our phones has an audio out that works even on our Epic Touch, and it is ½ the price as this one

the audio out doesn't work.... If you read his thread, that is the only thing he doesn't like about that dock.

I assume you are referring to my thread? It actually does work As it was pointed out to me in "my" review of the infuse dock thread, you just have to go in to the setting > dock settings > Check Use External Speakers...

Agreed. $17 is a better price for the Infuse dock! Mine works great! Timely the official one came out the day after I got mine from AT&T.

Official dock from Samsung arrived today. Very nice, works as advertised. Micro USB and 3.5mm outputs on the dock.
Hey Dutchman, Can you take a screen shot of what the phone does once docked? Is the ock app included? I know that the car home app from samsung is not available for the touch as it was for the OG Epic. Unless updated in the last week or so.
Also would you be willing to see how well ionroad works with this dock? I am waiting for delivery now but a heads up would be awesome if you had the time.

I would, however every do it yourself job has only been USB charging unless you are running a custom kernel. The OEM dock does AC charging and invokes the dock mode which gives proper landscape with the OEM launcher.
USB charging is not enough to keep up in Navigation mode.
I found something interesting in the description that they provide (will be higlighted in bold)
The OEM Samsung Desktop Dock is designed to hold the *Samsung Galaxy Nexus while charging it. The dock comes with a standard micro USB input that can be used with either a main charger or USB cable and a 3.5mm audio line-out connection so that you can connect your device to an external speaker for high-quality audio reproduction. The dock has been designed to be used in both portrait and landscape orientations. This means that you can switch from answering emails to watching YouTube clips without having to unplug your device. The dock also has additional volume controls on the side so that you can adjust the volume regardless of the orient of your phone.
I wonder what these additional volume controls are. Because looking at previous pics of the dock I didn't see any actual buttons on it to control the volume. I hope they aren't referring to the volume on the phone or external speakers.
It is just a shame that I had already ordered the dock from expansys.ca and expecting it in a couple of days otherwise I would have went with this option.

I ordered two of them on April 17th. They are being shipped (from Vancouver). I have the tracking number, and the expected delivery date is April 24th.

Are you sure it is coming? I ordered this from gocellular and the guy who runs the website there told me he was misinformed by the person he ordered it from... it was just one of the portrait docks. Not trying to burst anyone's bubbles but I would hate you guys get a landscape dock just because of some unscrupulous supplier.
Please post if you get it! I would be glad to order from whomever has these things.

I'm searching a mobile stand for my cellphone for when I'm at the office. I dislike a docking station because I do not need to charge it whilst at the office. When I'm searching ebay i only get this ugly cheap plastics one.
Does somebody know a more premium stand ?
You can get the Samsung official dock with spare battery charger and just don't use the spare battery charger.

I use the bracketron.com mobile dock. Its made I guess for a dash, and uses the same sticky material as that other mount, its just not so big and its adjustable, I also use it to hold my 8" tablet, and it works perfectly. I paid $20USD for mine, so U can find it pretty cheap.
ive attached some pics of it on my desk. I cant post links yet, but you should be able to google it if you are curious.
So far there's not a Dock available for the note but I've found this two that maybe work, they're for the GS2-3-4. Obviously they're narrow because are designed for cellphones but who knows if they do the trick for the note. If someone has one and tried on their note, please let us know how it turned out.

Anyone tried the "New Single Desktop Sync Charger USB Dock For Samsung Galaxy Tab 3" on ebay?
It can hardly not work since it looks like the USB is just passthrough.. but the question is how well the tablet sits in it..

the galaxy s3 desktop dock works with my tablet as well as does the s3 hdtv adapter - i picked up both today for $20 total off kijiji they were both bnib sealed - great deal !

Here you go. Sorry, I was out of town for the weekend.
It's usable, but tap it super hard and it'll go over backwards. I wouldn't be afraid to charge it this way or do some light reading if you're careful, but it works much better with my Note II.
I'm using the Belkin Charge & Sync Dock for Galaxy S4.
Although it does work as a charger and stand for the note 10.1 2014, it wasn't really designed for it. You probably wouldn't want to do any heavy table use while it's on the stand, and it is not the easiest thing to slide the tablet onto the micro-usb jack.
I search almost weekly for a really good dock. One that is like the Sony Xperia Tablet Z would be perfect, if it had a usb jack in the middle/bottom.
This is looking more promising, I've just sent off for it...will let you know how it performs when it arrives.

Quick Update on the dock I sent off for.
The dock holds the tablet securely & it's very stable, the pics show it connected up to the mains via usb cable & charging the tablet & no problems, but I noticed when when connected to the PC via usb data transfer is no problem but it doesn't charge, this may be a prob for some users..but it's one which I personally can live with especially for the price.
