Porting MIUI Radio to older roms ? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
The new rom versions (cyanogenmod 6.1, opendesire 4.0.36, defrost 6.0)
uses the radio app from miui rom on 2.6.35.8 kernels,
but MIUI uses 2.6.34.5 kernel version.
I'm using OpenDesire 4.0.10 (is very usefull for me). OD 4.0.10 uses the
2.6.34.5 kernel version.
What files are needed to run the fm-radio?
Thx

Why not update?

i like opendesire, but the versions after 4.0.10 suffer a kernel problem with the
reminders. is a cyanogenmod kernel problem, or possibly a aosp problem, i don't
known, but i have tried all cyanogenmod based roms (defrost, cm, nightly and od)
and all have the bug...

Then go report it

UVOC on Official Sense 2.2???

Hi all.
Is it possible to run the Official Sense 2.2 rom with a UVOC kernel?
I have tried the home-grown 2.2 roms with UVOC but they're not quite as sweet as the actual Official 2.2 Sense enabled rom.
Can I just flash a kernel??
No, not yet anyway.

We need to wait until HTC releases the source for the kernel they use in 2.2 .

wifi works and not?

mi wifi works on insertcoin 1.8 (sense hd rom), but on miui it doesn't.. same with oxygen, and cm 7... what could this be:/?
I've had these problems before with ROMs and it for me it seemed to have been the kernel used. I guess you can try different kernels but it might help to update your radio first to 5.14.05.17.

[Q] gingerbread or not to gingerbread. ?

I am in need of advise from users whether the gingerbread
Roms are stable enough for every day use
I am currently on droidzones starburst so go on
What have you got and what's good what's missing
what wouldn't you recommend
Stable versions are usually working, nightlies may have issues (CM7 So far have nightlies)
I am using GB a few months.
And what's missing and what's not - go and read a bit in each ROM's thread.
Then decide yourself
I see no reason to keep Froyo.
I am switching from time to time between InsertCoin stable (current 1.1.0) and Oxygen (current 2.2.1)
Check out the G1 Android Development and try the different stable ROMs.

Gingerbread it. Cyanongenmod is full of options, Oxygen is stable and fast and then there's all the sense ROMs. I would suggest trying one of those two.
PHONE: HTC Desire GSM, S-OFF
ROM: Redux2 Snapshot 18082011
RADIO: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
KERNEL: thalamus 2.6.35.14_r1
I suggest to try:
Sense: InsertCoin 1.1.1
AOSP : Oxygen 2.2.1
give leedroid a try as well ( good battery life )
Cyanogenmod 7.1 is fast and stable give it a go

[Q] Custom kernel Unity, RCMIX, LeeDroid on stable CyanogenMod 7.1.0

Bluetooth completely broken when using CM 7.1.0 with custom kernels.
Flashed Unity V9,V10 RCMIX v.11.1 LeeDroid 3.2.1 - bluetooth doesn't swith on.
Flashed back stock CM 7.1.0 boot.img and there it is - it's working again.
Flashed custom Radio 12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03 and 12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19_M with appropriate RIL but it change nothing.
Does anyone know why?
The problem is that those kernels are all 'sense' kernels. And your Rom is AOSP. You need an AOSP kernel like LorD ClockaN's or even TalonAce

Here you try this.
Its an AOSP kernel for your ROM.
LordModUE
My bad.
Allready tried TIAMAT Kernel - it works.
Will try that one.

[Q] Best HTC Wildfire Custom Sense ROM?

Hi everyone. I currently have CyanogenMod Nigtly on my Wildfire, but I'm getting bored with the non-sense look. I've already tried searching for a custom sense rom, but most of them has the really old Android OS.
Can anyone please tell me where I can find a good working Custom ROM with sense, and has at least Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 on it?
Thanks!!

This is the closest fully working Sense Gingerbread ROM.
@3xeno Thanks! I see there's a lot of problems with most Sense ROM's.... And not a lot of ROM's are being made with sense included. Why??
Mainly because its so much work porting and resizing a Rom that wasn't designed for us.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
Scratch is right. It's simply because official Gingerbread Sense was never released for the Wildfire. Ports from other devices can only go a certain distance.
Rempuzzle
There arnt any stable sense 3.0 + roms so....
I suggest Rempuzzle rom because it supports live wallpapers, sticks to sort of sense look ect
For 2.2.1 Sense based ROM if you are interested, I would be recommending you to go for dk Rom or Rempuzzle
