Ok, my search returned some stuff about ENG HBOOT, but not the answer to that question:
Where can i find the latest version of the ENG HBOOT for DZ?
Currently, my SHIP HBOOT is 0.85.0005, and the latest ENG HBOOT i found was 0.84. Is it ok to flash an earlier version of HBOOT?
Thank you!
As an additional question to the questions of Ninj, I am using a desire z with eng HBOOT for G2 (0.72). The phone works. To rectify my obvious error, is it safe for me to flash the correct eng hboot for desire z instead of utilizing the one for G2?
thanks
Looks like we've got no luck on this :|
I'm still wondering about it though. Anyone?
You didn't say anything was wrong with the hboot you already have so why try and fix something that's not broken?

Sorry, i though it was obvious
I need the ENG HBOOT for some advanced stuff i find here and there. But as my current HBOOT (ship) is .85, i prefer to find a HBOOT (eng) .85 too.
I found the .84 but i would prefer the .85
Thanks
The eng hboots almost certainly came from the development side of HTC. There are no later eng hboots available, and I think it's pretty unlikely we'll get any more.
Why worry about the version number ? The eng hboot is better than the "later" ship hboot, because it gives you extra functionality (e.g. fastboot).

True that.

Well, i was just afraid about an incompatibility between the ROM (.85) and the boot
But i'll install it then. Thanks.
You are right. I did not any more change the eng hboot. It works fine anyway and want it to stay that way. Good advice

I think you can do it directly - I had hboot 0.93 and used unrecoked 3.2.1 to root successfully.
Hi,
I search the newest HBoot for my dhd with Eng S-off etc.
Can some one give me a link?
And what is the pro of a newer HBoot version?
Sorry for my bad English.

Hi,
first - sorry for poor English..
second - after trying to install some ROMs, e.g.:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1627448&highlight=freeze
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827934
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850436
after rebooting the phone freezes on starting animation, after 15 +/- minutes reboots and it repeats forever...
any idea? is it size problem? (all ROMs are over 130MB..?)

HTC Sense 2.3 and forgot to change your hboot?
Which ROM are you actually use?
Did you install official 2.3 HTC Sense ROM using RUU after trying to install some ROMs? I think yes, because your Desire is S-ON. Did you change hboot to downgrade before you run RUU?

Currently using MIUI 2.3.7, so I didnt install official HTC Sense. No downgrade of Hboot - which version should I need? I can normally flash all 2.3.7 ROMs (CM7, MIUI,AOPK..)

So... I do not know why your Desire is S-ON (as I wrote in my previous post) and I think this is the reason. You should S-OFF your phone, I think... ;P

His phone has unlocked bootloader from htcdev, so he's still s-on.
Almost all of these roms require a sd-ext partition on sd-card and you didn't wrote anything about having it. Plus for that kind of stuff working properly I think that you need s-off, so jump to downgrading of hboot and running Revolutionary tool.

Hi, so I made:
1) downgrade Hboot --> s-off
2) new sd-ext partition on sd-card (1Gb / 0swap)
it works
thx

1. No idea.
2. No idea, but I'm using 0.85 as well.
3. I don't believe you need to update hboot.
4. Personally, I'd be afraid of bricking my phone if I messed with hboot.
5. No idea.
Is there a reason you want to update hboot?

1. Reason for the request to update your hboot?
2. Depends on your carrier.
3. There is no reason to update hboot separately.
4. Answer point 1 first
5. hboot-Versions comes easily with Stock-RUU
On the classic Desire we changed the hboot for new partition tables.
But i can't see any reason to change hboot on the DHD/Inspire 4G.
Kindly Regards

There's a link that explains hboot.
You can get one from clearD's thread over the inspire section. You need to clear cache (or dalvik) before flashing. It's for the inspire. Would it work for the dhd, no idea.
