I've been using the nightly builds of cyanogen 6.0 and up until a few days ago, switched up to the stable of 6.1. My issue is with phone calls. I've begun having the problem during the nightly builds, and more recently even in the 6.1 release. When my phone rings - it doesn't ring - it just vibrates for a split second and rings silently. If I call the phone a second time - it rings just as it should. I''m not sure how or why this would happen but I miss calls constantly.
I've checked all the settings and I don't have "turn over for silence" or any of those options enabled that could be playing a role.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Thanks
1. Read the first sticky in this forum.
2. This is the development section. If you're starting a thread here, you should be a developer.
3. If you did want to post here, you should have posted in the CM6 thread.
4. That would still be wrong, as you're just asking a question, not providing a logcat or other valuable info. This should be in Q&A.
5. Did you wipe before flashing? What ROM are you coming from? Have you tried reflashing?

Sorry for posting ion the wrong section, I not sure how I would do a logcat. I have tried reflashing and wiping - i've only flashed cyanogenmod - no other roms

I'm considering rooting my slide and was wondering if there was a method to reverse it for whatever reason? I know the original MT3G had the sappimg file you could load onto your sd card and it would automatically revert everything back to stock. I havent followed development for the slide much but have recently been reading up on it more. Thanks in advance!
Check The Slide Rom Bible... the answer you are looking for is in that thread. And in the future, this would go in the Q&A section.

Thanks man. I just figured since it was somewhat related to Android Development that asking here would be ok.

get my point if any of those where read before OP posted there would in fact be no new thread
Seeing how he used Google to get here, he might have never used this type or any type of forum before. If that is so, he probably didn't even know about stickies. Either way, now he knows.

yeah but its about the OP and where and just the plain principle.... OP has been a member since AUG 2009 ... if one years + thread membership and over a hundred posts... maybe he can read, maybe search and all but now we are all happy and everyone knows how to use search! Its great to be a part of such an awesome community! But please really search and when it says don't post a question in a section that probably means you shouldn't for a good reason. Thanks
Sorry thread police.
I actually tried searching before I posted. Prior to me staring this thread, the only results that appeared on Google were for the original MyTouch. Had I found the answer there I would've never asked.
Thanks again

Seriously?
SERIOUSLY?
I mean, SERIOUSLY?
You couldn't bother to look in either the CM6 Nightlies thread or the Official CyanogenMod 6 thread to see if someone had posted about this? Because I had posted to both those threads about this days ago...
Why oh why are you so full of #fail?
Here's a very simple request: if you're not actually actively involved in Android Development, don't create a thread in the Android Development forum.
Feh.
Are you stupid or retard as phuck did you not read the whole thing. I did apologize if it had been reported since I didn't see in the nightly thread. Truly a dumb fuk, indeed!

Unless you want to get banned I would suggest you cease using that sort of language on this site.
Don't apologize if your question has been asked before, USE the search function and save everyone time.
I don't blame Hebrew for his reaction, the Dev forum is littered with useless threads asking questions instead of searching.

Imho, neither one replied with constructive comments. If nothing else, it let more people become aware of the fix. The op was just trying to help regardless of it being posted elsewhere.

I actually think this does warrant a thread. Some of us not using the CM nightlies don't check it often. And since I think the FN and CAPS led's was not only a nightlies issue, not everyone, including me, would have thought to check just that thread. So to the OP, thanks for the thread, it may convince me to switch to the latest CM nightly.

Respectfully, I disagree. This belongs in the nightlies thread. Fragmenting an existing topic means more threads to check; more threads=more frustrated noobs=more random question threads in dev forum
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
But wasn't the FN/CAPS lights not just specific to the nightlys? I thought this was any Froyo ROM out there had the issue? If anything, maybe it was specific to CM, but if you were not running the nightlys, you would again not know to look there. That was all I thought... I am rnuning TeamFenix with the FN/CAPS lights not working, so I definitely would not have thought to look at the nightlys.
Then again, I guess maybe a different sub forum would have been more appropriate rather than the dev forums...

Team Fenix is based off of CM6, so I would venture to assume that the FN/CAPS problem is a CM6 problem. I think this post belongs in a CM thread as that is where it is best served.

All you had to do with look one *page 1* of the Android Development forum. Page. One. There are *two* threads entirely devoted to CyanogenMod 6 and instead of checking there first, you created a new thread to post about a BUG FIX!
Amazing.

I don't think every change deserves a thread...but the original poster didn't do any harm in posting this and making people more aware of the fix. (Other than make the trolls pour out of the wood work) .
It was brought up that this could cause more useless threads to be created...
This could be looked at from another perspective and because there is a dedicated thread people wont make a thread asking for a fix for their keyboard leds. This is all a matter of opinion and there is no right or wrong answer.

You are right to think it is wrong to think there is a right or wrong answer

Or, better yet, people should be viewing the CM6 changelog on github to learn about new features and bugfixes. And if they want to post about it here, use the threads dedicated to CM6.
This is a VERY simply concept.
I've moved this out of Development, but would like to remind everyone to please keep it friendly.
I agree that we should keep it friendly. I hate how we bash each other especially when the intent of this post was in good spirit. The guy made a mistake, but not one that deserved all this bashing. Please lets be grown ups about this. Thanks.

It may be because he already had his alpha testers, and easier to close it [temporarily] to prevent the thread from getting spammed up, with "HOW'S IT GOING?!" and "WHEN CAN WE EXPECT IT?" Easier to re-open it after he first round of testing, post bugs, and resume normal life. Again, just my thoughts.
I'm not sure what happened with the OP of that thread but I know toast and Shinzul are working on it for CM7 right now.
Orrebmas has been in contact with his testers and progress is good. He has asked to not release details about development at this time. He did direct me to this post http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g-rooting-roms-hacks/35955-evo-hdmi-out-mirroring.html My guess is that will be the place he will announce it being available for use.

is that because I am in the wrong thread or because I am a newbie?
Why? Because you've supplied no real info about your phone or what you've tried doing etc. You've basically said "I tried to flash a ROM and it didn't work. Any idea why?". Not very informative is it?
And it's besides the point anyway. There are literally loads of guides about to help you (Bortak's being a good start). All you need to do is "search".

The forum rules require to use search. This has been asked and answered many times.
Also there is a big troubleshooting sticky thread in the QA section and yep, its in the wrong section, should be in the QA section.

Sure. You are right about the 'no real info' warning. I had to provide it - no questions about that.
Regarding your 'search' comments, I am not a newbie to the 'internet' or 'search'ing. Before I try to login and post a question to any forum I try to make sure I could not find someone else experience the exact problem and a solution for it.
Anyway sorry for wasting your time guys. This thread can be deleted by the mods.

Given the info it can be anything, but in my short experience, when stuck in boot, a full wipe and re-download of the ROM has usually helped..

I tend to disable 3G/data to save battery and stay on EDGE however this afternoon after I turned on 3G again, my phone just doesn't connect back onto 3G and is stuck on EDGE..
Does anyone have a problems like this?
Wrong forum bud flaming starts soon... nd for data? I say try rebooting then changing it to WCDMA ONLY then if it catches 3G then it should work then switch bsck

Try turning airplane mode on instead, and forget about that data stuff. You shouldn't be having apps that are hungry for updating all the time anyway.

OP, I don't know what you think of these forums, but rules are to be respected and followed. This is such a basic question that really needs to be in the Q/A section. Period. This section is for development work only, even says so in the title.
It would have been better if you searched for your question, but you didn't even look for the appropriate forum.

Hey its okay you made a mistake dont worry about it. Listen if you look at the top of the development fourm where you posted this it tells you who the moderators are. pm one of them and ask them to move this thread to the q&a fourm. People here are a little touchy when it comes to posting in the wrong fourm because well you know they are perfect and dont make mistakes.
