I know of amzer and a few others but just looking for everyones general preference to see If I have missed any.
And for the record I don't like the argyle look. Takes away from the looks of mah future phone.
I ordered the Innocase from Seidio. I had one for my Mogul that I really liked: http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4213.htm
It's harder than gel but has a soft finish that keeps it from slipping in your hand.
Ah , I see the seidio acces finally came online. Nice!
Too bad I'm not a real fan of their cases. : (
Although I do like the innocase's . Very nice but I hate not being able to try first. It says it doesn't add much in thickness but .....what a frickin pain this is.
Argh!

Its looks like these are kinda like the gel ones just made of plastic right? Pretty thin..I noticed you can get a clip for it also. Do you know without the clip there is nothing on the back of this case that adds bulk because of the missing belt clip is there?
thanks
Site says that it's 1mm think so that would be about as thin as you could hope for and still get some protection. The belt clip is actually a separate holster that the phone clips into. They have a set where you get the phone protector/case and the belt holster together. The holster is built to accommodate the slightly larger size when the EVO is in the case.
I´ve bought a frosted gel Hard Cover for my EVO 3D from HTC Addicted on Facebook .
It looks and feels great and is really resistant.
I got a discount because i like the Facebook page =)
I bought the cheaper of the two otterboxes. I have the more expensive, defender I believe its called, but it just made my phone too thick and it was hard to get out of my jeans. So I bought the one beneath it... can't remember name lol but I really really like it. Its half gel and half plastic providing enough protection while making it easy to remove from pocket. . I think its like 20$ on amazon

otterbox
I highly recommend the trident kraken. It's thick and it may be hard to take out of your pockets if you're wearing jeans, but the protection is unmatched.
hai all,,
im in indonesia and its really hard to find softjacket or silicone for my evo,,can u advice to me where i can buy that stuff?
of course with the best price and free shipping if there from other country
thanx
I had a body glove case that was pretty nice, it was grippy enough to stay in my pocket when wanted and slick enough to come out when I grabbed it. It also had a nice warranty, like a year or so, and I used that a lot. The thing broke every month or so, but kept my EVO in tip top condition. Now I don't use a case though, I am close to my upgrade and trust the phone to hold up.
No case or screen protector here.. over 2 years and no issues..
just saying..

I believe youre talking about the commuter series I've had two of those and a body glove case the otterbox's broke within a week of having them the body glove even less. The defender series is great though definitely get that. I wouldn't normally use a screen protector but otterbox's is on a different level from cheaper ones it improves the touchability if thats a thing.

Omg I just got my defender case and its amazing. The screen is a bit dim using the built in auto brightness setting, but outside its fine.
I'll take AOKP anything
I know many of us want to know, so to all the Defender owners out there (I'm still waiting for mine from Amazon) can it be modded to work with the 2600mAh battery or one of the 3500mAh eBay batteries? The commuter is just a tad to small for it to work, I'm hoping the answer is yes for the Defender.
I've ordered a 2nd battery door that I'm planning on cutting out a hole in so the battery pokes out. I suppose you could roll without a battery door at all as well. The next step would be to cut out the inside silicone membrane of the Defender to make room for the battery. At least that's my plan anyway.

Sounds exciting my man. Waiting to see the final product
I too am wanting to know the answers to this question...
after looking at a defender case on a friend's Iphone I was thinking it may be possible... but you would prolly have to cut some of the Defender's hard casing up to make it all fit
we really just need someone who has one and an extended battery to "eyeball" it for us
bump...
I really wish a Defender owner could chip in here

I wouldn't see why not, but you'll be cutting through the hard plastic, not the silicone, the defender has the plastic on the inside and rubber on the out,so it will allow a bit of leeway depending on the elasticity of the silicone wrap. But without first seeing how far the 2600mAh battery sticks out, or knowing the thickness of the Otterbox's plastic, it's kind of a measure it and find out or just do it and find out.
Judging from pictures the 3500 battery looks to be about 2 times thick as stock. Which should put you about flush with the camera lens without the stock battery door. Everything looks like it should work hollowing out the inside of the defender exept they moved the kickstand up a little higher so you probably wont have enough meat there to support it.
i think the kickstand would be in the way... unless you want to cut that out completely and have no kick stand.
Im looking at my commuter and see the possibility of cutting out the battery back along with modifying the seidio battery cover to remove the rails... it should work better than on the defender.
dont know whether or not i want to commit to sticking a dremel tool in my case and doing some surgery.... i miss my extended battery though.
I have a defender case that I was willing to cut out but after studying it I realize its not worth even trying. The kickstand area would have to be completely cut out, the protector for the camera lens and led would also have to be cut out because the bottom edge would have to be cut for the battery to go through. The only hope is one of the seidio extended cases, the rugged in particular.
Sent From My "EVO"
I currently am using the rugged but dont have the extended but my sister in law does so ill do some investigating and ill post back the results. I think it should be ok but itll lose the silicone camera lense cover. Theres no kickstand so thats good. Only prob i think is the plastic outer might be too narrow.
Keep us posted, if it works I will buy one in a heartbeat. I can't stand having my EVO naked any longer but don't want to lose the extended battery either.
Sent From My "EVO"
For the amount of cutting that would need to be done, it probably would not be worth it. There is a lot of plastic to knife through. The silicone isn't terribly flexible either.
The case would be butchered due to fitment. Not worth spending $30 to essentially destroy a decent case.
I did it!
I have a big fat 3500 mah battery.
I also own a Defender. I put my EVO in the plastic Defender case WITHOUT the battery back on. I did not try to close the plastic case (it won't close), I just carefully stretched the rubber exterior over my ghetto rig and voila, IT FITS!
The answer is:
1) Leave the battery back off.
2) Don't try to clip the plastic case closed.
3) Carefully stretch the rubber exterior over.
Take pics I wanna seeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
No need, just looks like a slightly fat defender.

So what about the 2600mAh one from Sprint. If I leave the back door off do you think the case would go together?

Truthfully verizons body glove case is best for non bulkyness.Very stable fits well .ect.
I like my body glove
Personally I have tried the Body Glove case and I like the Otter Box Commuter case a little better. The new Seidio Innocase Active is also a very nice case; a close second to the Otter Box.
Definitely otter box. Slim sturdy and stylish

one problem though it has to slide into my jeans. Most of these cases have rubber and dont slide
Throwing in a vote for the Body Glove case.. great fit with just enough bulk to give you that warm protected feeling

You should check out Techie Warehouse. If you go to the Covers & Skins area for the Droid X you'll find over 300 covers to choose from.
Best one I got laying around was not a Seidio, Otterbox or Trident... it was the Dual Layer Vertex Covers just google "techie warehouse vertex cover for droid x"
I quote from our product description about this product "The Motorola Droid X gets ultimate protection. A Screen Protector and two virtual walls of defense. The inner silicone core absorbs shock from bumps and drops. A hard polycarbonate exterior shell prevents cuts, scrapes, dings, and damage for the Motorola Droid X."
Let me know what you think of it.
i bought one of the 3 dollar black silicone ones off amazon. works fine for me..

I have had the Otterbox, Seidio, Innocase, Verizon, Kragen, but I didnt really like any of them. Iphone cases are so much more refined compared to these.
The Otterbox Seidio, and Kragen cases are too bulky, the Innocase looks good but broke on me, and the Verizon Kickstand Case was too cheaply made.
There is a guy from another forum thats making a phone case. It looks great but its not for sale yet, I am personally looking forward to it because he claims its easy to open and has a bunch of other features. It looks absolutely beautiful, so lets hope he can pull this off.
Right now Im using a cheap Ebay Silicone case, its not great either but it was only $2 and thats value for money. I also got a Smartphone Coaster, its a cheap bit of tin but it does the job for now.

+1 For the Body Glove
I really enjoy my Body Glove, Although I've managed to wear out the snap on the lower left side by removing the case over time to do a battery pull and it no longer holds securely.
I have a Green Trident Kraken on order, due to arrive today actually assuming UPS will brave the icy roads, Good reviews on protection but they all admit to the sacrifice of sleekness.
The pliable verizon silicone case is nice and it fits with extended battery-Motorola and cover. You can find them for $10 online or eBay.
Check ebay item #250759993717
I bought a Sedieo Innocase Surface back in December it cracked in half in January. They are really nice looking, but if you ever have to do a battery pull or if you want to use your car dock, forget about getting it out of the damn case. It fits way to tight. So I am back to the ole Silicone case, which works fine, but sucks if you put it in your pocket, cause it sticks to cloth / jean material.
I'm on my 2nd Body Glove case.
Likes: Belt clip, rubber texture, light weight
Dislikes: Rubber texture deteriorates, weak tabs will not survive impact.
It has kept my DX from scratches but the tabs that snap it together break too easily. First was replaced under warranty. I think I will kick out the $ for an Otter.

Those cases with tabs that snap together aren't meant to be taken apart, after 4 or 5 times they will break. I created a case that opens easily, has no tiny tabs to break and has a multitude of other features.
I've also taken great care to make sure that the case is placed further away from the screen and buttons making it easy to touch the screen and press the buttons on the bottom.
There's space for the OEM extended battery, an extra micro SD card, and even an ID or credit card.
The case also functions as a stand and car mount, my case allows you to watch movies, make movies, capture photos, and use your phones GPS in your car with ease. These features not only work with the Motorola Droid X but with other cases, other phones, and even some other electronic devices such as digital cameras.
The case isn't any more expensive then other high quality cases either. Its 20 bucks and made from the same high strength plastic as other high end cases, so basically if your in the market for a case and other accessories you can pay for just the case and get the rest for free essentially.
If you think this case must be huge and weigh a lot you'd be surprised, its really a simple concept, its almost like a normal cellphone case but we've changed a the design a bit to allow it to function as an adjustable stand.
I can't post links yet so you'll have to google "Jawcase" to find more info, pics, and videos.
I like the Jawcase concept. Alot. I pledged. And good luck with getting your project off the ground Heather. Hope it gets funded.
I've gone through 3 body gloves now with my 4th's clips are broken yet again....
I think its a bit ridiculous that I cant take my phone case off because the clips can't stand it.
I need to find a new case, and I'm thinking of just going with one of the hard-ish silicone cases. The body glove looks great when you buy it, but the rubber wears away like no tomorrow and the clips are destroyed after a couple battery pulls. I had one for my enV touch and it lasted the entire lifespan of the phone with minor tears and such. My droid x's can't last anymore than maybe a month. Don't get me wrong, the body gloves are wonderful, but I'm clearly not having a good experience with it or maybe I'm not handling it properly
+1 for the body glove case. I havent had any issues with the tabs, but i always open it at the bottom with a coin.

Shoot...I was pretty much sold on the Innocase Surface case, was gonna order one in the next few days. I've tried the cheap TPU case, the cheap 2-piece snap together case, maybe I'll try the Verizon silicon one instead of the Innocase.
I like my phone to be protected really well.....Have a look
1. Official Samsung Flip Case
2. Cheap S-Curve TPU case from eBay --> I bought this extra CHEAP case so I can experiment and cut it to fit the Flip Case. It's not the best cutting job, but it will do the job for now
3. Home made Phone Sock
I guess I will use this set up until the flip case dies, by then I will start using the Nillkin TPU Case.
ps. I really like the Nillkin ones...they are thin and fits the GNote really well
Great job. I'm still waiting for my TPU case to arrive so I can try this. Instead of the sock, I'll try a tiny short strip of velcro to keep the flip shot.

yeah, it does. the cover can bend all the way down to the edge of the tpu cover.
just did something similar. cut side off the tpu gel case, stretched the gel case to fit the slightly thicker flip case back cover.
it works, but the tpu case loses some of its rigidity when you cut it, it wont stick as well to the phone.

I think the best way is to avoid cutting near the corner. Instead of cutting the gel case to suit the flip cover, cut some of the leather flap to make it shorter/narrower, then you cut the gel case to fit it (just below the volume rocker. Here's a pic:

doing it that way would then cause the the flip cover to lose some durability.
by cutting the tpu case to fit the flip case as is, you still leave 1.5cm of gel case around the corners, which is enough for the phone to hold the case on. the only point of weakness lies in the flip case making the phone's rear thicker. by cutting one side of the tpu case and having to wrap it around a thicker phone will kinda distort the tpu case a little.
its not enough to make it fall off that easily, at least not now. but its not as rigid compared to tpu case uncut and i'd expect it to become a little loose with wear and tear.
Yo, sup dawg, I herd you like cases, so I put a case in your case so you can put another case while you using a case in a case.

lol, for my motorola atrix, i had the ballistic hardcore case. you get the core plastic+tpu case with screen protector integrated, and then a silicone skin that can fit on the outside, and then a beltclip/screen guard. when you run the inner case and silicone skin together, the device is water-resistant.
but honestly, i dont see why people think what we're doing is silly.
the flip cover is good for protecting the screen, but doesnt protect the corners. protecting the corners is important because statistically, if you were to drop your phone, its 90+% more likely to land on a corner first than flat on its face. the vibrations of the drop are then going to transfer into the device's internals, which can do a bit of damage, hence you need protection for the corners.
the tpu case is good for protecting the device itself but offers no real protection from the screen aside from preventing it from getting damaged if it were to land flat face down. if your screen were to land on a corner of a table, you'd be screwed.
by combining the cases, you get the best of both worlds protection wise.

i agree there.
about 6 months ago i bought my motorola atrix for $500. to me, spending $40 on a ballistic hardcore case is cheap insurance for a $500 phone.
and a few weeks ago i spent $800 on my galaxy note (now some places are selling it for $600), to me, $30 is cheap insurance to ensure it continues running well. although i would prefer another ballistic hardcore case, i dont think ballistic have any plans for the note.

I wish casemate would make a tough case for the note. I loved them for my gs and gs II. They had a thin flexible silicone sleeve that went around the phone then a hard outer shell that went around the silicone.

one particular advantage about the way i have it set up...
the friction of the tpu gel case means it doesnt slide, meaning i can use the flip cover as a stand.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140637892999&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:AU:1123
the case i bought was this one.
it is slightly harder to press the power button, but thats mainly because of the way im using the case. the phone is slightly thicker when you use the samsung flip cover, so the gel case has to be stretched a little. on the case, theres a slightly softer rubber/plastic gap for the power button which works well normally, but since the case is stretched a little, it is slightly off center for the power button. not enough to cause problems, but enough to notice a bit of a difference.
but overall, i'd say it works well. gel case + screen protector + flip cover = ready to take this thing when i go paintballing!
Just wondering if there's any cases that fit this phone when it has an extended battery on.
If not, is ghost-armor coating really worth it? I need to protect the corners of my phone, since I've dropped it once without a case, and the corners are already all scratched.
just in case
I've put a extended battery and back on mine using the same silicone case. the 2 piece hard case is modified to work by cutting a square on the back of case to fit over new back. takes a little time with sharp knife but works well. hope this helps.

What case exactly?
I just received this silicone case (a steal at $1.56 + less than a dollar shipping) and like it very much.
It does not, however, fit over the extended battery. I haven't tried altering it, but I may buy another for experimentation.
Black Protective Dual Texture Fusion Rubberized Silicone Skin Cover Case for HTC T Mobile MyTouch 4G
I too am curious which silicone case fits over the extended battery. But for now, I'm enjoying the new, grippy case along with a new, standard-sized Anker 1550 mah battery.
WHAT FITS
ant hard case will fit when the back part has square cut out with sharp knife, I just use regular silicone case and stretch it over extended battery. works well for me

Silicone or tpu case without the new back piece works great. Using the battery bare saved me space.
I tried looking for a case myself. Seems like I've tested them all lol. But I have yet to find one that actually fits.
The silicone looks horrendous with it and that's the one I happen to like the most
