Hi I was wondering after the 14 day remorse period is done with. You think they can still exchange my G2? I think I really want to go with the MTHD. I talked to the tmobile store I bought it from, but the guy said I have to talk to the lady I bought it from which doesn't work till tomorrow. He was telling me is a managers call if they can do it though, but he was telling me how to tell the manager some good reasons why I didn't like the phone and most likely they can exchange it for me. My question is has anyone else pass their 14 day grace period and still able to exchange or refund? By the way my info on the phone is. Bought Oct 9th, and I'm on the installment plan for buying the phone. Thanks in advance.
let me know what you hear i wanna return mine too.
Edit: I just talked to the retailer and they told me to call corporate.
Ill keep you posted. Hopefully she'll let me exchange. She was really nice about me exchaning my first G2 for another but that was in my 14 days. But hopefully she let me slide this time.
If you bought your phone at a retail store in CA you have 30 days to exchange for another device. This puts the mthd within possibility since the rel date is 28 days after the G2. I'm keeping mine but my wife is exchanging hers for a mthd.

Second EIP had a downpayment of $100

Just ordered my 3rd and I hope will be the final g2 due to,
1st g2, dust got under the screen due to a large open seam between the aluminum bezel and phone body
2nd g2, dead pixel and yellow hue to the screen
The first g2 was received on the 1st and I owned it for 3 weeks. I stil have the 2nd one while waiting for the 3rd one in the mail and I've been the remorse period the entire time. Only cause they said they would honor it.
Another thing that happened, and it's a little off topic but while I'm talking about it...
As of Oct, 26th T-Mobile has decided to remove the EIP option for certain credit classes. I fall into one of these classes. They were trying to get me to pay full price for the 3rd g2 cause the system wouldn't let them create an EIP and when it did, it gave me 4 months instead of 20
I freaked out to the point that all EIP's on the account were canceled and the 3rd g2 is on the way with $20/month payments for 20 months.
What did they neglect to think about? I created an EIP for the first g2 and had to replace it with the second but for some reason had a new order placed on the secondary line instead of just replacing it. So I had 2 EIP's.
Where did the 3rd EIP come from? That would be the one we created for the Mytouch Fender when it first came out. We still owed $350 on it...
So in a way, T-Mobile screwed me over hardcore. But at the same time, not only did they make it right with me but now I don't owe anything on the phones and I could keep the second g2 as well as the 3rd and that would mean I have a $100 g2 and a $540 g2
Sorry for the large post, got a little carried away.
What you should take from this message is that ordering your phone online or with 611 is a bad idea. In a store is the best way BUT they make you aquire a data plan. 611 makes you do it too.
That is the only reason I ordered my phone online. If you're willing to potentially go through what I did to avoid the data plan, do it.
Thank you for putting up with this message. Sorry to be a little off topic but at the same time...
Tmobile is will to honor the buyer remorse period for an extended time under certain circumstances...

Thanks for the Bible of info, but helped me in no kind of way.
Hahaha. If you're constantly having issues with the g2 they usually will let you exchange for a different device of the same value. I would complain to corporate or get a papertrail going for known issues. The more you complain, the worse their service/devices look, and in return the more they want your business. I'm on my fourth g2 and they told me if I didn't have any luck with this one (being sent out now) that I could return all the devices, cancel my 2 year contract and start over again.

I'm on my second G2. Do you think they will switch out for the mt4g. Or would they suggest to try another g2?

First of all if you bought it from a T-Mobile Corporate )store you have a limited period of time to replace it for example (CA - 30 days, and if you want to replace it to a different phone you need to pay a $10 restocking fee. Your Rebate will be cancelled and your installment would be cancelled. Simple you get all the money you gave them back. btw if you ever miss 14 days youll have to play a something percent restocking fee, depends on where you live, like i said on CA they charge $10 for a T-mo g2
What to do if you want to return your upgraded phone
If your new T-Mobile phone does not meet your expectations, we're here to help. In order to receive full credit for your purchase price (less any rebates), please return the phone plus all associated original contents, undamaged and in good working condition, within 14 days from the day you received the phone.*

Another Thing if you have missed the 14 days remorse period, you get to pay a restocking fee when returning a phone ( i didnt saw it on Tmo's official website, but i saw it on the reciept.).

Hello everyone,
I have one hell of a story to tell about one boy, two phones (the htc hd2 and the samsung vibrant), and one freakin' committed customer service team (T-Mobile's). OK, so I'll begin my story of how I ended up with a brand-new Vibrant for essentially 350 bucks. Bear with me here, it's a bit long. So, I originally purchased an htc hd2 way back in mid-June for 300 bucks on Craigslist. The phone ended up being defective because of a hardware issue, and because it happened to be under the "buyer's remorse" period, at least the way T-Mobile saw it, I was able to return it by mail for a brand new one for free. I was surprised when I called to learn that T-Mobile didn't require a single piece of information to verify that I was the original owner of the phone, all they saw was that an htc hd2 had magically been activated on such and such a date. So, I returned that hd2 and recieved a new one in a couple of days, which ended up being just as buggy as the last one, so I decided to abandon the hd2 altogether in exchange for the Samsung Vibrant. I called T-Mobile customer service today to setup the exchange for the vibrant, which would cost me 50 bucks since the hd2 cost 450 and the vibrant costs 500, and I was FINALLY told that they had no record of me ever buying an hd2 (I wonder why, lol). I then explained to them that I wasn't the original owner of the phone and that I had bought it from the original owner, but that the phone had been purchased only a few days before they sold it to me. They told me at first that I would have contact the original owner and get the 450 bucks credited back to there account. The only problem was that I had no way of contacting the original owner, and that they had switched carriers almost immediately after purchasing the hd2. After about four hours, and many many phone calls later, I called t-mobile one last time to explain my situation, keep in mind that I was totally honest the entire time, I reached a very nice customer service rep, and after explaining what had happened to me, and after speaking to her supervisor for over ten minutes, she told me that even though they almost never do this, that they would "take my word for it" and send the vibrant, no questions asked, for basically 50 bucks. I was over the moon considering that less than 5 minutes ago I had thought that I had thrown away 300 dollars. I would like to give some major props to T-Mobile's customer support, never in a million years would I have expected a customer service team work so hard to keep a a customer happy. Talk about going the distance. Well, that's my story. Tell me what you think, and what your experiences with them have been like.
Peace, bobofosho12
I got mine for $164 and i wasnt even due for a full upgrade. Got my phone around august. Even my sister which is due for a full upgrade has to pay more. So i think im super lucky except for the tax and all that

Yeah, its an online Special. However i Would Suggest your sister to call T-mobile and ask to be transfered to the Loyalty Department to get hers. because she will get a good deal as her contract is up...... They will give it to her at full Discount and provide her with a data plan of $24.99 a month. instead of $30.00 like you got... and she wont have to pay no upgrade fee's whatsoever.

Same here. I renewed my contract last year, so did my GF. We both are eligible for full discount so I jump on it right away.
I hate buying ANYTHING with a contract, I know that even though I might pay through the nose up front, i'm saving tons more than I would if I had a contract for two years. I just generally buy an "almost" brand new phone on someplace like Craigslist and then I return it to T-mobile and get a brand new one for free, hence what I did with the hd2. Just my strategy though.

I have the 24.99 data plan and i will thanks for the info
my story on getting the vibrant new WITHOUT a contract for $133. Please note, this cannot be duplicated anymore as the "loop hole" has been caught and closed. I noticed this post on slickdeals.net the 2nd day it had been posted:
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2132124
So basically costco has the cell phone kiosk's which sell tmobile and a few other carriers. as we know, T-mobile offers and "even more plus" program with is NO contract. also as we know that if we went to tmobile and got a vibrant with this even more plus program is $500.
BUT for the first 3 or 4 days that costco sold the vibrant they were selling it for $250 with the "even more plus" plan or $99 with contract. EDIT( this $250 price was a wholesale price they were offering)
so went there and bought 2 samsung vibrants for 250$ each plus tax. ended up being about $540 by opening 2 new lines on the "even more plus" plan. note that this is different then the "even more" plan which is a contract. Even though "even more plus" is not a contract, costco would not sell the phone without an actual plan but thats ok because this "even more plus plan is no contract because normally you pay full price for the phone.
so then because the "even more plus" plan is not a contract, I called t mobile and told them that I want to cancel the even more plus plan and that I paid full price for the phone. (which i did pay costco's full price). they canceled the plans over the phone on the first try without any hassel (some people had a little trouble canceling)
So then i sold 1 on ebay for $485 including shipping and kept one for myself. After paying shipping, ebay listing fees, selling fees, and paypal fees. I came out basically paying the difference which is only about $130 for my new, NON contract vibrant
keep in mind I already have a tmobile contract from my mytouch, so i just put the sim card in the new vibrant and was good to go.
Costco and Tmobile both caught on to this within days, and now it went from 250 to 479 the day after i got mine.
so i basically ended up paying $130 for a New Vibrant, not subsidized, and non contract even less then if I had signed a new 2 year contract.
If so many people had not ONLY gotten this deal just to sell all the phones on ebay and craigslist, the deal probably would have lasted a little longer. (i just sold 1 to offset the cost of buying one for myself)
so keep in mind, this deal is now dead, and no one has had success trying to replicate it since the price change because costco and tmobile had caught on quickly.
Im still under contract with tmobile for another year because i bought mytouch last year. Wife's phone is still eligible for an upgrade I can use later this year
I got mine for $100 after $50 mail in rebate. I bought mine at Costco warehouse . It included the car charger, a carrying case and a Bluetooth headset.
still cant beleive you guys didnt just spam these forums spreading the good news on the price. so sad.
well thankfully, i got mine on bing cashback and so the phone might end up being $350 for me.
oh what i could have done with $100 extra, sigh
by the way did you need to be a costco member to get that price or could anyone get it?
I actually got mine for free, but in an extremely roundabout and lucky sort of way.
Got a Samsung Behold II with a new contract at the beginning of June for free from Letstalk.com. I won't rehash all the ridiculous problems I had with the phone, as it's fairly legendary at this point.
Had even more problems after the now infamous 1.6 OTA update, took my problems to T-Mobile corporate, and after 2 weeks worth of emails and phonecalls with their director of customer relations they basically convinced Samsung to toss me a Vibrant to make me happy enough to go away and leave them alone.
I sort of rode out the "perfect storm" here and was just in the right place at the right time. Still, this is the best free phone I've ever had!
Got mine for the same price as Alex.
i got mine for $534 after tax!
I walked into my local Sprint store with $600 cash in my pocket anticipating to walk out with a brand new SGS2E4GT at full MSRP without any additional commitment on my contract. (Have you guys noticed the full non contract price for this device is not listed.)
After the sales rep got the device from the stock room, we were ready to set it up with my existing account. After he logs into my account he notifies me that Im not eligable to an upgrade until January. So with a smile, I informed him that Im aware that Im not eligable yet & thats why Im willing to pay the full price for the phone. Then he said, Sorry sir, but effective today, every sprint device is ONLY available at a carrier subsidized price to people willing to activate a new line or those qualified for an upgrade. Which means nobody can purchase a phone at full price & swap it to their current number. (This **** didn't make any sense to me at all.)But any ways long story short, after a few minutes of blah blah blah, I walked out of the store with a brand new GS2, and a 3rd line to my account which I will not use but will be billed monthly $20 plus $10 premium data. Then he had the nerve to remind me that If I swap the new phone to my primary line before 30 days, I will lose my mail in rebate.....
What the hell is hapenning to Sprint????
That sucks. I had no problem getting mine.

Sounds like you went to an indirect retailer and not a Sprint-owned corporate store because that's not true at all.

While I'm aware of their new "no device without a 2 year contract" policy I didn't think it was impossible to replace a phone without a new contract. Frankly it sounds like you got fncked. I would call Sprint and escalate this up to someone that gives a fnck because frankly this is a gigantic load of bull****.
...there is no way in hell that you can't even replace a device on an existing line/contract. If that is true, well, there is NO REASON AT ALL TO STAY WITH SPRINT. (VERY SLOW) UNLIMITED DATA IS NO REASON TO STAY WITH A COMPANY THAT WONT EVEN LET YOU REPLACE A PHONE WITHOUT A NEW CONTRACT.
Even given their new restrictive policies I highly doubt that what you were subject to was actual official Sprint policy--I don't give a **** what they say, they are likely idiots who interpreted the new policy wrong (either for their own benefit or merely out of their own extreme ignorance).
Escalate this as appropriate. This is bull****...and if you find that this is actual official policy please demand the section of the contract that specifies this and LET US KNOW. We will spread the word and take heed which will result in Sprint losing US and EVERYBODY WE HAVE ALWAYS RECOMMENDED GO TO SPRINT. EVERYBODY. Do you hear that Sprint?
...if (and when) you (most likely) find this to be complete bull**** on your Sprint reps part (and I would be sure to post the store number and location here and many other places, store manager name included) I would also demand a form of compensation for having been lied to and tricked into a contract. Nothing extravagant, but, something you find equivalent in value to your time and expense required to deal with this crap.
Yeah, I had no issues getting mine today either and technically my 22 month upgrade was not until april.
Thanks for the input guys, I really felt like I was suckered into signing an extra line which I dont need in order to get the device I really want, even though I was willing to pay full price for it. I will call corporate tomorrow and bring it to their attention. Thank You.
Good luck, hope you get it solved. Definitely sounds like bs to me.

Make sure you return the device by Sunday so you don't get charged an activation fee. Given the situation you described, you can probably get any charges reversed by care anyway... but to be on the safe side, return it within 3 days to avoid the fee for sure.
That's BS, u got the short end of the stick. So much to talk about here. First of all Sprint is known to make an exception that close out of a 2 year agreement and provide you with full subsidization. At the very least they will provide you with partial subsidization. The reason why they probably don't sell them at full price is because it probably doesn't ever happen because it makes zero sense even with the recent early termination hike to $350 dollars. If you want it right now, process the order overnight on the line in question with overnight delivery from a retailer like wirefly.com and return and close out the new line u purchased. I'm pretty sure they'll give you options to buy without a new line at wirefly. That would be really bad for business if they didn't. I think the return policy is 14 days now and you may suffer a restocking fee for it all. Good luck.
The phone is $499.99 retail on Sprint.com, so you definitely got suckered into a new activation and a nice commission/spiff for the sales person who got to you.
Wow, i remember those days as a cell phone salesguy and the stuff we used to pull, like these (and much worse).
This phone doesn't have a mail in rebate. And remember you can call customer care tell them that they are not allowing you to buy the phone. At least I didn't get a rebate.

I was just going to say this. If u go on sprint.com u can buy the phone without an upgrade for $499.99 so that just shows that place screwed u. Hope u get this straightened out cuz thats bull**** man.
Yeah use the 14 day satisfaction guarantee to tell that store a big **** you.
Just pay the ETF on your old line. Depending how long you had it the most it can be is $200 but since you said your upgrade was in January, it should be a lot less then that even be less then that. In the end you will save more money then buying the phone outright as long as you do not care about getting a new number.....
Then you go go thank the guy in the Sprint store for saving you a ****load of money!
And I thought there were no mail in rebates? Did you actually get a mail in rebate with the phone?
I bought mine for 499 without a problem.

Yeah...I would call and cancel the line...pay the eft and call it even

Just Looking for input pros and cons to the following idea please.
I Pre-ordered my Gn2 through Bestbuy right when they opened on the morning of the 25th, I literally walked in the door as they opened and asked about the availability. The first person in the mobile section had no clue, the 2nd actually did a search. At first she couldn't find it but then after hitting refresh a few times she had it pop up in the system. Then she placed the pre-order right away, So I know I was literally the first person not only at that store but in my general area for the phone. So anyways to the point, I had this on pre-order and in the meantime of waiting I came up on some cash so I just went to my local Sprint store and Purchased one with my upgrade. NOW the Gn2 is available at Bestbuy and reserved under my name yet I am still under the 14day grace period with Sprint. So I could return it to Sprint with no harm no foul(no restocking fee and upgrade stays intact) and get $300 cash in hand. While picking up the Same Gn2(same color) at Bestbuy and drop it on my Bestbuy card(which it is pre-ordered on).
Now what are the Pro's and Cons to doing this for anyone who has purchased mobile devices and activated through their carrier at Bestbuy.
The MAIN pro I can think of is the insurance plan at Bestbuy not only covers more but when using the insurance you get a BRAND NEW phone off the shelf at BestBuy where as with Sprint you get a Refurbished or returned whiped phone.
Now I spoke with BestBuy and tried to cover most of my bases and found that If I choose to which I would after I activate the device I can go to Any ol' Sprint store after that for any reason(as if I purchased from them in the first place).
The only Con I can think of is I run the risk of getting a phone that could have an issue like with the S-Pen or something when the one I currently have is Flawless. And with that if I need to return it I might have to wait due to limited availability considering they just launched it today and will probably be limited for the next week(s). Granted I would obviously deactivate the current one in store at BB then activate the new and try and sit in the store for a decent amount of time and run through trial and error to attempt to uncover any issues in the meantime before I head back to Sprint to actually physically return the item.
I am planning on heading in today so any input as for Pros and Cons would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
anytime you exchange your product you risk getting a bad one in return, but you could also just return it again. some of the funky spens just need to be adjusted. i posted on the GN 10.1 forums on how to do it.
the only real con you have is waiting in line to return the phone and pick up the others. worst case in my area it would take a few hours to do. you could always call and issue an rma, they'll give you 30 days to return it after you receive the return kit (at least they've done it for me in the past) and it doesn't affect your upgrade status.

I'd go with the option that saves you money and time.

Restocking Fee is only for an exchange not a return. If you are returning the device and want out of it, you get 100% back via the way you payed (credit card, debit, cash) and your upgrade remains intact(if you used one which i did). When you are taking it back because you don't like the device and want to swap it for another device say a gs3 then you pay a restocking fee. Which is pretty stupid they are saying if you want to return it and take your business else where you get a 100% refund w/ no penalty attached. However if you'd like to keep your business with them and grab a different device keeping the purchase in house they will charge you $35 restocking fee..
I double, triple checked the above information in store and with customer service because I was thinking of pulling the above mentioned scenario in OP. I mean hell if I can come out on top with the cash back in hand then pay before 6months with no interest or penalty for early pay off.
You would probably have to wait 30 days for sprint to put your upgrade stays back into the system so Best Buy could sell it to you at the upgrade price.
Just to let you know, take your receipt and phone into Best Buy. You don't have to purchase it from Best Buy to get the insurance!
Fyi, I used to work there =).

yes, do this. otherwise they'll need to call sprint to PM and you know how long that wait can be. your receipt will be proof of the lower price.
IMO it seems like you've already made a good decision. Your phone is paid for... Your done, no payments, interest, nothing hanging over your head. I'd consider all the time you will spend getting back to where you are now. As they say, time is money! Good luck.
Hey folks.
Today my fiance and I had decided to take advantage of the sprint black friday sale on Galaxy S3's. Prior to this she had been on her parents' plan, and not paying anything. We decided we would upgrade my current plan (individual) to a family plan.
We looked at the original price tag of around 150$, which with my company discount comes down to around 115$. We figured there would be some fees, but when we got the expected bill of ~180$ a month (both phones, the 10$ "enhanced data," and the 11$ per phone for TEP, plus taxes, sprint "fees," 32$ in activation fees (after being charged 30$ when I got my evo-4g and being told that the charges would never be put on my account again since they were one-time deals) etc). I asked her on the spot if she was ok with that price and she said yes. However a few minutes ago she came down stairs incredibly upset with really bad buyers remorse. She's planning to return the phone tomorrow, which according to sprint's return policy she is ok to do.
Here's my thing - she ported her number off of her parents' plan already. Her old phone probably can't get added back on to their plan without incurring them a significant amount of cash (they're on an OLD plan). So, she'll have to get a voice plan somewhere else or there again but on her own this time. Almost no carrier that we look at can do it at a reasonable price (talk and text at t-mobile comes in at 49.99/mo), so the amount we'll save cash wise isn't huge if she goes through with this.
While I personally figured it was basically a christmas present she could enjoy, she is really freaking out and wanting to go back to her "dumb" phone. Since everything is under MY account and I've been a customer for 15 years (speaking of which, it really sucks that sprint seems to have magically forgotten about technology upgrade credits and all of my sprint premier bonuses), I'm hoping to get this resolved in a way that keeps her happy, and costs me the least. But since it's a new plan and we both should be covered under the return policy, I also am willing to put some muscle behind taking my business elsewhere since we *should* be able to walk away with just the restocking fees.
Before when I contacted sprint about downgrading a family plan (I had had a family plan before with an ex) they transferred me to retentions and offered a steeply discounted monthly plan to help keep me from having a line removed. Do you think there's any chance that would happen again?
I'm just trying to get some insight here. How flexible can retentions be these days?
Just tell her to enjoy the phone....do a remake of the Samsung commercial where the wife sends the guy a NSFW video when leaves for his trip and love it out lol

These days it is difficult to get a retention modified better price for your plan especially if you have a company discount already. Now you can always give them a call and say "I'm outta here or else" and you might get something...it oftentimes depends on the rep you get..If don't succeed the first time try again. Maybe you could possibly cut back somewhere else..remove insurance possibly and take chance..or other bills? Hope it works out for you.

Retention can not modify a plan that no longer exists. If you're within 14 days return the device and go back. No sense in getting stuck with something you don't want.

I am just extremely frustrated with Best Buy for this Note 4 preorder business. I placed my preoder on 10/9. They said when it is here and ready to pick up, we will send you an email. I have not received an email yet, but it has almost been a full week since preorders have been out. (This is specifically in regards to NYC). It baffles me they are not receiving any Sprint Note 4's (regardless if you ordered the black or white version), but they have all the other carriers (with the exception of Verizon). I've been calling Best Buy on the daily to get an understanding as to why the phone has not arrived yet. Everyday is a different answer. I've had one rep tell me it's Samsung's fault because they haven't shipped them out to us. Another rep told me that they do have some coming in but their delivery days into the store are Wed and Fri. Another rep told me we will get them when we get them and just look out for our email.
What is the point of preordering a phone when it doesn't come in and it is already released to the rest of the market? And how do you not give a customer a valid reason as to why the phone is not yet in your store but rather say oh this is a city wide issue? Shouldn't you try to find out as to what is going with the shipment seeing how this is a FLAGSHIP PHONE for Samsung and why is it only the SPRINT version with no delivery? The sad thing is that I used to work for Best Buy about a decade ago, and the service that we gave was better.
Anyone else running into this issue with Best Buy?
Yep. Same issue here with my wife's white sprint phone. I even preordered both the same day as you, the 9th, but I got my black one release day, hers, I get the same exact run around you are getting. It really sucks.

I preordered mine the day preorders opened up and got an email may Thursday night that my phone had arrived and I could pick it up
I placed my pre-order on 09/26/2014 with the ship to home option to avoid the short shipped supplies to the stores. It finally came on Wednesday and I activated it after work. When I went into the store for my price match (I was billed at $349.99 but they dropped it to $299.99), the store manager told me he can't do anything for me because it was an online order. When I asked for my $200 pre-order/rebate via Samsung, he told me that the promotion was changed and it had to be the phone that was on the line that got the upgrade. I told him that when I placed my pre-order, that was not the case and I expect the promotion listed at the time of my pre-order honored. He again told me that he couldn't do anything for me. After several attempts at calling 888-best-buy and remaining on hold for 15+ minutes each time, I just sent an email off to customer service. It's ridiculous how they really screwed the pooch on this whole pre-order process and now are trying to cheat me out of $250! Definitely the last time I pre-order anything from WORSTbuy, maybe last purchase period....
Pre-ordered mine on 10/15, called BestBuy about 30-35 times (from 17 to 22) and as result they change my "expedite" shipping to "express" shipping. Enough for me to receive phone on evening of 22nd.
Every time I called them I heard same crap "tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow" and on 21st I was told that my delivery will be on 20th??? Yes, day before which already passed. WOW, what a service, they deliver into "past time". I exploded and got mine on 22nd as mentioned earlier.
I believe this might be my last pre-order with best buy ever...
i preordered mine the week preorders came available. when i checked on my preorder i found out i don't really have a preorder and have to wait to see if any extra's show up. I have given up calling as that is useless. Im just gonna sit back and wait to see if i can get one if not i guess i just won't upgrade to a new phone. Lesson learned i will never preorder from best buy again i don't care if they give me a million dollars off my upgrade it just isn't worth it.
I'm so fed up with this crap. I suggest contacting your favorite android news sites and imploring them to give this issue more coverage. Maybe then the higher-ups at these multibillion dollar corporations will finally have something to say about why those who preordered still don't have their devices, or even a rough ETA.
I'm in the same boat, as the rest of you.
I've called the store, and the customer service line, every day. It is definitely Best Buys fault. They try to put the blame on Sprint, but I know several people on AT&T, with the same problem. In the AT&T forums, Best Buy, told them them it was AT&Ts fault.
So, as I said a couple of days ago, either AT&T and Sprint, are working together, to sell less phones, and get less people locked into two year contracts, or Best Buy is responsible for this mess.

Why would Sprint not want me to renew my contract? Even if they do away with unlimited data they can still affect that change regardless of my contract renewal, so I'm confused why you're saying that.

I'm agreeing with you. I'm just giving two possible scenarios. One ridiculous possibility, where Sprint and AT&T, are working together, in a conspiracy to sell less phones, and less two year contracts. The other (real) scenario is, it's ALL BBs fault. (BB blames Sprint, when talking to Sprint customers, and AT&T, when talking to AT&T customers). They refuse to acknowledge their incompetence.
I'm in the same boat. And this will DEFINITELY be the last thing. I ever purchase from best buy.
I think they don't want to honor the 200 credit on ****ty phones. The credit is suppose to end Next saturday.
Lets see what happens then. If they extend it or just let it expire then. If the shortage is so bad. Why do other stores
have plenty of stock? It Bestbuy is just screwing us.
Had no problem here with a black Note 4 preorder. They even held it 2 extra days for me while I was at the BABBQ. Not only that but they let me trade in 2 old phones and gave me $200 each, which paid for the 2 years insurance too!!!
Bestbuy screwed up on this one definitely. I ordered my Note 4 on 10-16 and it started off rough. Found out the associate did not update my email address and told me my phone would be available the 17th. I had to gain access to the account called the store and the customer service line friday sat and sun to run around, i dont knows and our next shipments. Finally i got fed up and sent a letter to a corporate member of Bestbuy with my experience and telling them I more than likely would not be buying another phone from them. Its one thing to tell customers hey your phone won't be available until next week up front. Cool i know how it works and backordering can suck. But to tell people paying their money that you just have to wait, we dont know and be patient is unacceptable. Explained the customers are there first priority and are the reason they are successful and deserve communication regardless. Basically, the end story is i'll be getting a gift card in the mail. I also got a call promptly the next morning that my phone was available. Smh.
See i thought this was just me, same issue of pre-ordering on 10/9 except the employee was new and didnt even do the preorder it correctly for me, just charged me for a $50 gift card, found out when i went 10/17 to get phone, have called every day since and nothing now i was reading the $200 trade in is only valid till 11/1?

Samsung promotion had nothing to do with Bestbuy preorder.
Update - So I got an email yesterday morning that my phone was ready to pick-up. You basically have a 24 hour WINDOW to pick up your phone after they email you. How does one set a capped window period to pick up a new phone when the preorders are LATE to begin with? I mean we are waiting and waiting but we could not even be in town when this email comes. I think there is something wrong with that whole system. Anyways, I was lucky that I had a Best Buy Mobile Manager taking care of me. They did honor the $200 credit (after I had to remind him). Purchase Price = $126 (after $200 trade-in) plus some change. The phone itself is a beast (everything from the screen to the materials is awesome). In terms of accessories, I would suggest you guys buy all your **** before and have it ready because Best Buy does not really have many accessories in store. Also, there were issues with activation while in store. The manager called Sprint and they had said that their provisioning services were down nationwide so I had no service for about 4-6 hours. All in all, don't preorder from Best Buy unless you want the hassle. LESSON LEARNED
A while back, just after the Samsung promotion was announced, I fired off an email to Samsung asking them to do something better with an offer at Best Buy. An instant trade in credit on any working smart phone and $50 upgrade bonus on top of that should satisfy most US buyers and leave a lot of others not so fortunate, envious. Had the phones been broadly and readily available and Best Buy chains fully aware of the policies, this would have been a hit that many would have been happy with and look to replicate with repeated patronage. My local BB got it right with some pre-launch dialogue and not so good broad communication on the terms of any working smart phone looked up as $0/recycle. The word was put out to other mobile assistants while I was there, the third person in line. They seemed to have stock and were even trying to get customers the color they preferred. Mileage varies; sorry not everyone got the same or better experience. But to me this was a win and would pre-order there again. I don't think it was all Best Buy's fault. Ample and broad stock may have made this much better of an experience for most. Add it's good to hear that Best Buy is honoring the terms for those in-store pre-orders that were late. Some stores also made exception before hand on terms to satisfy those made online to home delivery because the pre-orders were longer being taken. Cheers and congrats to all who got the terms right. Regards to those that didn't or weren't eligible.

Pretty sure this whole thing is due to best buy overselling the 200 trade in credit. It runs until 11/1. Guaranteed on 11/2, note 4 's will be available for people walking in. Every sprint store in the area has them readily available. This is not just sprint either, best buy has no stock for any carrier and still has not full filled their preorders. At least within 100 mile radius of costa mesa ca. Bummer it was a good deal. Also if your pre order comes in after 11/1 supposedly the 200 trade in deal is out the window, said my local store.

That's my thought. That's why I picked it up at the sprint store.

Best Buy's semi-official stance is that they will be honoring trade in's for all preorders, as mentioned here.
While I don't hesitate to think poorly of Best Buy, this was a multi-million dollar ad campaign - my local stores were slathered in banners, signs, stands, displays, etc touting the $200 trade in FOR PREORDERS ONLY, not to mention the press spreading word (blogs, etc). I can't see how Best Buy could just renege on the the core and only aspect of their advertising, especially after money has already changed hands. Now on the other hand, I think anyone wanting to buy within the extended offer period (non-preorder) will be out of luck, as incoming stock is going to preorders instead and by the time that equalizes the promotion will be over.
