On my G2 none of the profiles work. I think I set them right and enabled them but they still don't work. Is anyone still having this problem.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
No, mine work. Dumb question but are u sure your rooted?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Mine work as well. I only have ones for screen off and low battery, but they work fine. However I do have to change the slider for the main profile whenever I change the OC via gscript.
Yep im using the visonary temp root. Do I need to change the priority on the profiles?
My understanding is that you need superuser..to give setcpu permission
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I'm having the same issue. I'm rooted on visionary, and I gave superuser permission to setcpu, but none of the profiles work. i havent done anything but download setcpu and visionary, and set my profiles. do you have to do the same thing as when you overclock it for it to work?
Yes I granted setcpu super permission. The profiles still don't work I've even tried turning up the priority.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Try overclocking than press menu than press device selection..than pick the first one let see if that works
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Thanks that worked. Now the profiles are working.

Has anybody tried this as a solution for the LED notification without rooting? I installed and it hasn't worked for me, but on the market comments for the app somebody said it works with their G2 perfectly.
Anybody get this working on their G2?

im dl now.. lets see what happens
not sure for device with out root but mines rooted and its works
how did you get it to work? im rooted too
I haven't been able to get it to work I just saw a comment on the market saying a G2 owner got it to work

Works for my G2
works on my g2... rooted runnin cyanogen mod 6.1.0... works like a charm. i like how one of the "unknown" colors actually makes the trackpad light up for notifications.. pretty sweet it think. give options for green led, amber led, camera led flash and trackpad.
edit: works on my g2... but kinda buggy. like when i check notifications it'll still have the flashing light.. this app does say its for the desire 2.2. so im not too worried about it. im sure dev will have a g2\desire z soon.
works on mine also
Unrooted... not working on mine.
For anyone unrooted who has this working, what settings are you using for the notifications?

Anyone know if this app works even though lcd density has to have compatability mode off and this app needs it to be on??

works for me, but had to disable all stock notifications manually before it would quit blinking

worked fine on my g2. Running Visionary R10 to temp root and then running this app.
Wow! thats an awesome app! kinda buggy though... still new though. once bugs worked out, needs repeat option. that would make it perfect! good find, guys! thanks!

It asks for Superuser Permissions, so you MUST be rooted!
BUT, it's is really cool! You can have the led flash, the menu keys flash or the camera flash, flash!
It works perfectly upon download. You don't need to tweak any settings.
Every once in a while when I wake my phone up, the clock speed stays at what it gets set to when the screen is off. The profiles seem to not work at this point until I reboot. I'm running stable cyanogenmod. Is there any way to remedy this?

No. I did have that problem on my G1 but on this phone when it says it's running at 300 Mhz, it is. Apps open slower, linpack is low. It's definitely getting stuck somwhere.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I wkuld recomend auto detecting speeds to make sure its got the right info for your kernel. Then i would reboot the phone. Also try turning the widget off. If your still stuck uninstall setcpu and start frrom scratch. I would reflash my kernel at this point as well.

So I have the opposite problem from most folks. Pushing the trackpad wakes up my phone and I don't want it to. I have temp root installed, but I rarely root it. I've tried to uninstall various apps to see if the function disappears but I just can't seem to troubleshhot it.
Anyone have any idea why this happens on my phone when I've done nothing intentional to enable the function?
Thanks!
Cyanogenmod does this. Also its possible baconbits does as well.
Sent from my HTC Vision
But what have I done to make it happen? Everyone else complains the trackpad won't wake up their phones. I didn't mod it yet my trackpad has this functionality and I want to disable it.
Are you running a custom rom? If so then which one?
No, I'm just running stock. That's why I'm confused. Like I said, once in a greatwhile I temp root my phone, but that's about as crazy as I get. It just seems to be a standard feature on my phone, but from the comments I read elsewhere, most people do not have this feature and are actively searching for ways to get it.
I personally don't like it as my phone constantly wakes up in my pocket. I know, that's what she said....
You temp root with visionary i assume? And your sure you havnt installed any other program at all? No kernals nothing? Not even setcpu or rom manager?

When'd you get your phone? Makes me wonder if HTC just snuck it in there later. Then again, probably not.

Well, I dowloaded the overclocking script that folks were using before we got perm root. And I do have setcpu installed. I didn't try uninstalling that app. I have linpack, gscript, cachemate, busybox, and titanium installed as well. You think one of these apps could be causing it? I got tired of troubleshooting by uninstalling apps so I thought I'd come here for a tip, so thank you!

I did a phone order from tmobile. This is a replacement. I preordered the first one...
theres a script that can allow trackpad wake.
The kernel is your problem. You need to flash a stock kernel. Ther are plenty on rom manager. Most kernels include the trackpad wake.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
When I set Tasker to turn off keyguard (phone doesn't lock itself) it will wake with the track pad.

So basically I can start my hotspot and connect to it from NY computer but there is no internet and I did the usual hack of changing the security and default profile names. Any ideas why I get no connectivity ?

I cant figure it out i have a feeling this is going to be like my contact sync (just stopped working one day hasnt ever worked since on my one account although all other accounts work)
Is this a Verizon app or wireless tether? I recommend the latter.

Sorry, but I've only used tether which works perfectly. I haven't even tried stock, and I'm way too busy to attempt to try right now. Hopefully someone else with more experience or free time will step in.

Doesn't Verizon charge you for their Wireless Tether service?
(Which is one more reason to root your phone in the first place)
If rooted, try Barnacle. It works great for me.
Verizion does charge for their wifi hot spot so if you are not paying them for it that is why it is not working.

Yea, I thought so.
I also can't get any tethering app to work right. After awhile none will load video and they all stopped working all together after 50mb or si.

What ROM are you using? Is your phone Rooted? Are you running any Task Killer/Manager apps?
I had that happen after I switched (updated) radios, and then tried a couple other versions. The hotspot needs to be reactiviated after a radio switch (or so it seems). After following the directions, then rebooting, it seems fine again.
I also use wireless tether, but for me it's a push between them except the hotspot allows the droid to be seen as infrastructure.
Switching radios didnt cause wireless tether to stop working, so I wonder if it had anything to do with changing the throttling in services.jar?
I'm using virtuous 3.1 and the 7.28 radio. For some reason both wireless tether and easytether pro both crap out at a similar point. They both do it with or without the? Uncapping mod. They also just completely stop loading video a little before crapping out all together

Make sure you're not running any Task Manager/Killer app as I used to run Virtuous 3.1 with Advanced Task Manager and it caused problems for me. Also try running an update on the roaming (*228 option 2).
Thanks ill try and check back

Do you have access control on? Idk if that has been said or not but mine wouldn't work till I turned it on and allowed my computer to use the internet.

Good idea
Over tried *228 options 1 and 2 but nothing seems to work for some reason no matter what I do all tethering craps out after a little bit and the 3g hotspot will never work it just shows up as connected with no internet

So I have finally got round to taking control of my Play. Unlocked my bootloader, rooted, applied DooMKernel v14 and now have Gin2JelllyBean rom.
I've already managed to squeeze a day more battery life thanks for SetCPU down clocking while the screen is off. Now id like to look at undervolting.
From what I read, there should be an undervolting option active in SetCPU but it's not there. I thought DooMKernel supported this, so firstly I just wanted to ask if there is anything I need to do to activate it or if might have gone wrong somewhere?
Thanks in advance.

I have SetCPU too and it doesn't let me change the voltages. I am using IncrediControl for changing them, and it works
OC/UV Beater2 v1.7, allows setting voltages in an init.d script, so there aren't any unnecessary services running on boot
Thanks for the suggestions guys I will check them out.
Still confused why I can't use SetCPU though.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Be careful u dervolting, can actually decrease battery life. Never set undervolts to run at boot.
