that is part of the sense UI, won't work without being able to port a sense ROM(dezire Z) or you can try beautiful widgets which is a decent substitute(in some minds)

+1, Beautiful Widgets

Yea I just didn't want to pay for the beautiful widgets app for just the weather widget

you can try
You can try Weather and Toggle search the market for it http://androidandme.com/2010/04/rev...get-easily-personalize-your-weather-settings/

the one that came with stock on the slide won't work on G2, it will only work on Sense based devices.

have you tried Beautiful Widgets? or if you are looking for a free setup you can do a search for Fancy widgets (it was pulled from the Market after getting a C&D from HTC for being a clone of the Sense widgets)
Tried them both lol just not the same o well

Root and flash cyanogenmod

You can also use a launcher like ADW or launcher pro which will hide a lot of the Sense.

Launcher pro themes

I downloaded and bought a couple of themes but when I choose any of them launcher pro would still look the same, anyone knows why is this

Did you restart lp after?
The themes are going to be under widget settings and for each individual widget you can set the theme for it. Restart launcher pro afterwards.

You'll probably have to be rooted and running a stock ROM, or just the LGHome. Push the files to /system/app and reboot.

It will not work, it is tied into the lock screen.

I got the lock screen off my girls g2 but it does have the weather in it anyone know what file I need to make that work
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda app-developers app
It is imbedded in the Frameworks and system ui, you are not going to get it to work easily, a lot of re coding would have to be done. Many other DEVs have tried and gave up. Search LG Weather widget for CM11, there is a working one from the LGOG, only issue is it is only 4 columns wide.
