[REQ]Zombie, Run... Port from Android to PPC

Is it possible yet to port or somehow run an Android app for PPC?
I'd love to be able to use Zombie, Run and my Touch Pro 2.
It's a free game currently under developement.

nope. on Android you use the DalvikVM and program in java syntax, using the Android APIs.
games like these are so easily done on Android because google provides GPS, compass, maps, etc. APIs that are very easy to use.
IF you will see something like this for WM it would be much more work and had to be done from scratch.

Are there any similar games available for windows mobile?

It's great, though it would be awesome if it would use internal GPS on phone/laptop

So, no one to do this right for the money? Not only lacking of devs but they're lazy as hell too..

Looks like useless, memory hungry eye candy to me.
I have version 3.5 (using this customization: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604146) at the moment and can say I have never used the 'carousel'.
SPB have been ignoring all the great ideas for widgets on their forum, a call for SPB Diary and Phone Suite to be made compatible for WM6.5 to concentrate on creating this?!
Oh well, down they go in a lot of people's opinions.

nah, it looks nothing new.

They stopped being creative along time ago.

It supports Stereoscopic output... I'd call that original.

With HTC Sense out there, SPB needed a home run with this release but all they hit is a bunt! Boring! Same old thing we have now. I don't have that "I must have it" feeling like I did before when I purchased SPB Mobile Shell for my phone. I do have that feeling for Sense however and unless SPB gets their uncreative heads out of their butts, this shell will die eventually (or live forever 'cause the user community is re-developing it for them with skins).

I like the look of sense but I dislike the way it access things and features on the phone, too many things built-in as default and makes my favourite 3rd party app hard/impossible to be integrated, and running Manila 2.5 on my Xperia gives me a lot of problem, it is slow and sluggish sometimes.
I now have SPB 3.5 with the look of sense(mobile theme), and all my frequently used app/features accessible in 3 pages. Works a lot better than Sense and Titanium.
I don't think SPB is dying, as people who like customization will always go for it, but TouchXperiance will probably pawn it when it is released, I dunno.

well it looks like they took a step up with the animations. lets not forget they also make there product to be integrated with some devices & it looks like the success that they created on windows mobile is driven to android & the rest.. So for the new user its gonna be a big thing like it was for us (windows mobile users) when they first released there shell but for me if i decide to run there shell its gotta be on a super light ROM since it looks like a memory hogger!

Well, it LOOKS pretty. Guess we'll have to wait to see how it performs.

What happened to version 4? The current version is 3.5.3. Why the jump to 5.0?
There is a demo of version 5 off Youtube, and I am not that impressed. The functionality is more important than the look. If it's only for the 3D feel, count me out! Besides, I don't think my device can handle it

Ok everyone listen... There is no device on the market that will support Windows Phone 7.
Windows Phone 7 has very steep hardware requirements.
1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor
8GB Flash Storage
3.5mm Head-Phone
GPS, Compass, Accelerometer, Bluetooth, FM Radio Support
800x480 or 480x320 screen Resolution
4-Point Capacitive Display.
Only 3 Front Facing Hardware Buttons
There's only one device that even comes close and that's the HTC HD2 and it's not even getting a upgrade because of the buttons, well not officially. I believe in you XDA-Dev's

I succeeded running WP7 on my nokia dumb phone. it takes 3 days to reach the startup logo and then freezes! if you have any hints to enable full boot please reply!

Windows Mobile 6.1 (launched) for Windows Phone

Ok, now DreamForceTeam launched Windows Mobile 6.1 on Windows Phone 7 (HTC 7 Pro) and showed that on the movie (what is next ?):

Now this shows how terrible windows mobile was. I would do this on my trophy, but seeing how putting a laggy os on a phone designed for wp7 is so pointless, I'd rather put windows phone (hopefully tango) on wm devices.

Yessss, with this we may have the chance of using FpseCE on WP7!

Very well said, couldn't agree more. The fact you can do something doesn't mean you should. I was a WM 6.5 fan but would NEVER go back to that after over a year with the constantly improving WP7.

You know...the video shows pretty good performance over all on it. Yea, 6.1 was a dog but, There is still a hanful of apps I would use on it that there is no WP7 app for.
If this was downloadable, I would download it to try it. It would be nice to bring back some App memories...

That's sort of nostalgic. But like I'd never put Windows 95 on my current computers, I would also never go back to the Windows Mobile days. Sick of constant lock ups, bad memory management, overall laggy behaviour and such. If I wanted to use Windows Mobile again, I'd rather buy an HD2 from craigslist or eBay than flash it on my WP device.

If we could use equalizers and audio effects, I would love to see dual boot.

Did you even watch the video ? He was running ON TOP of WP7, at one point in the video he hit back and it jumped back to WP7.
If it's like shown, an emulator, I'm great with it, if I have to flash my device, screw it, dont want it.
If I can dump 6.1 on my WP7 device to run when I want to, it opens a whole world of 10+ years of Apps that will run on it (and there is a lot more of 6.0+ apps than there is WP7 apps)
I would want to dowload it and install cabs to it, if I can't do that, then I have no needs for it.
I would much rather use an emulator on my phone than waste $150-200 on a HD2 that ran Windows Mobile 6.5 anyway.

I do miss the equalizers I had loaded on WM 6.X. I miss them a great deal. It is the one thing I am still waiting for in WP7. I have found replacements for most all of the other apps I used on WM over the last few months.

I gotta admit that I didn't watch the video. I just assumed it was the one I found over at Twitter last night where a modified bootloader was shown that started WM on a WP device. An emulator would certainly be nice to play with. But I don't see me using it for more than just bringing back some nostalgic thoughts.

I dont see the reason for the hate....it may not make sense to run win95 on currrent hardware but u cant apply the same logic when wp7 is missing features/apps wm had.

I wouldn't call it hate. Lack of comprehension maybe. If I felt Windows Phone was missing features and/or apps I was really dependent on, I simply hadn't bought into it.

It would rock to have Garmin Mobile XT up and running via this loader on WP7. I'm still running WM6.5 because of this software.

This will prove very useful for running emulators, flash, and legacy apps. Don't dis it. It's an app, not a flashed os. I'm wondering, though, if they could use any of the code from this to develop an android emulator. I mean, my windows phone rocks, but extra compatibility is always welcome. Keep it up DFT

My only question regarding this loader is if we'll be able to use the GPS and run Garmin Mobile XT... cause that's the only thing that's stopping me from installing WM7 on my HTC HD2. I figure XT will be able to run with this, but... Let us wait.

Oh hello there Cotulla! I'm not asking for any ETAs, but how do you do that? Do you put the exes and dlls and stuff in \Windows\ or in another directory and then run and make them ignore the original WP7 ones? My theories

no, it's not it's paravirtuliazion. In other words WM runs almost like usual application inside WP7

ROFL, my bad. But it does load old programs and makes 'em run under WP7.
The only program that has good routable maps for my country (Argentina) is Garmin Mobile XT, that's why I'd mainly use your launcher to run that app... and finally install WP7 on my HTC HD2.
