I am currently using google wired usb thether and was wondering if anybody has been able to make one of these routers work with an EVO as a modem?
Is there a better solution like USB to Ethernet or do I need to set up a computer to share the Internet connection?
Thanks

Hi
Is it possible to share my pc internet connection to my desire via cable or bluetooth?
I know it's possible with a app called connectify on my pc, but i don't want to have a visible WiFi connection running.
Any ideas?
As far as I know, no.
Make no sense to hide the SSID. Everybody how can wrote his own nam can find the ssid easyli.
I know, thats why I want to use USB cable or Bluetooth..
Yes you can, go to connectify.me and download the app for pc, you can use your computers internet as a hotspot.
this worked great for me also
Hello everyone!
My phone: AT&T Tilt 2 running most recent Simplicity rom
I hope someone can help me figure this out. Essentially I was wondering if it is possible to to use the "Wi-Fi Router" app in the comm manager to create a wifi hot spot using the internet connection from connecting my phone to my PC via USB and activesync.
Sorry if thats confusing, I'll map it out:
Cable modem----Ethernet on Desktop---Activesync---connects to my Tilt 2 via USB---Wifi Router App using the connection from activesync
When I run the Wifi Router app I can only choose from ATT ISP GPRS and Media Net as the internet connection source, but I want to know if its possible to just use the internet connection from being directly connected to my PC in order to create the hotspot.
I would just use a router but it broke and I don't know when I'll get another one. Thanks!
Does anyone know of any router that supports USB tethering of android ?
To confirm the android phone is being used as a 3G modem to provide internet access via the router as a 3g dongle would.
Thanks
Hi, I'd find it highly unlikely such a thing would exist. Shame though as I'd find it handy too.
Hi guys!
Just a thought, I have a PS3 and I have access to a local wifi, but due to the wifi having a MAC Filter the PS3 can not connect so I had a thought of USB Tether my Wildfire to PS3..
BUT
When I read online, I saw that I must use a computer & Cross over Ethernet cable to the PS3, and I don't have a the right cable..FYI My computer is also allowed on the local wifi.
SO
My question is this: Is there anyway to DIRECTLY USB tether my Wildfire to the PS3?
Why not white list the PS3?
I wonder if just using the USB Tethering option in Cyanogenmod 7 would work?
Does your Wildfire have access to the Wifi?
I wonder if you were to use a USB Wifi Adapter connected to your Computer/Laptop to create a 'Hotspot' from which your PS3 could connect? Alternatively you could I guess try this maybe...

I hope one of these works for you.
Hope I've not confused anyone too much lol

I do not have access to the router & I can't contact the guy who owns the wifi because he's working away for a while.

From what I understood, Portable Hotspot only uses 3G / hsdpa connection and I want to use WiFi connection as I do not have an unlimited data plan.
I have seen the Reverse Tether guide before and have used this for another Buzz I own.
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if there's a way to take the Internet connection from a PC via usb, and then make a wifi Hotspot so I could share that connection to tablet, laptop, etc.

I think that that setup won't work, why don't you buy usb wireless or router....it's cheap....
